Image
LL Cool J's NCIS character, Special Agent Sam Hanna, first appeared in Season 1 of NCIS: Los Angeles. After reprising his role in Season 22, episode 18, of NCIS, many fans wondered if they could expect to see Sam again in the future.

Per TVInsider, NCIS executive producer Steven D. Binder addressed this possibility. Binder has stated that there is no official word on whether LL Cool J will return to the show next season. However, he did not rule out the possibility, stating, "But I, as a showrunner, say LL always has a place at NCIS. They all do. They're all great. They're pros. We love having them." He continued, "It's just people have very busy schedules, especially he does. So making it work is a logistical challenge and probably the bottleneck more than anything to why you may or may not see more. Not because there's not a desire and a will,...

‘9-1-1: Nashville’ Adds LeAnn Rimes and Kimberly Williams-Paisley to Cast
Image
“9-1-1: Nashville” has added two more names to its cast: LeAnn Rimes and Kimberly Williams-Paisley.

TheWrap has confirmed that the two performers will star in the forthcoming ABC series alongside fellow cast members Chris O’Donnell (“NCIS: Los Angeles”) and Jessica Capshaw (“Grey’s Anatomy”). Representatives for 20th Television and ABC declined to comment.

“9-1-1: Nashville” is being set up to be the third entry in the growing “9-1-1” universe. It comes on the heels of “9-1-1: Lone Star,” the franchise’s Rob Lowe-led Texas spin-off, which ended after five seasons in early February. The franchise’s flagship series, “9-1-1,” is currently in the midst of airing its eighth season. After premiering on Fox in 2018, “9-1-1” moved to ABC in its seventh season. “9-1-1: Lone Star,” conversely, aired in its entirety on Fox.

“9-1-1: Nashville” comes from Rashad Raisani and “9-1-1” co-creators Ryan Murphy and Tim Minear. The three are set...

‘Band of Brothers’ Cast: What Are They Doing in 2025?
Image
There are a few shows or movies that set a standard and a template for a whole genre. HBO’s 2001 miniseries Band of Brothers not only did that for war dramas but also launched and boosted many acting careers. The series, created by Tom Hanks and Steven Spielberg, presented real-life events of Easy Company, 2nd Battalion, 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment of the 101st Airborne Division throughout World War II.

The ensemble cast of Band of Brothers is one of the main reasons people still remember the show. Apart from playing the roles of soldiers, actors like Scott Grimes as Donald Malarkey, Kirk Acevedo as Joe Toye, and Damian Lewis as Richard Winters made the audience empathize with their losses and wins and connect with their camaraderie. Now, after more than two decades since its premiere, let’s catch up with some of these talented cast members and see what they are up to.

‘Gossip Girl’ Star Michelle Trachtenberg Died Of Complications From Diabetes
Image
The cause of death for actress Michelle Trachtenberg has officially been revealed.

Best known for her roles in Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Gossip Girl, Trachtenberg was found dead in her midtown Manhattan apartment on February 27 at the age of 39.

The coroner’s office had originally informed the public that the cause of Trachtenberg’s death would not be determined, as her family had requested that no autopsies be conducted, due to religious practices. However, a review of laboratory test results found that the actress died due to complications from diabetes mellitus, according to the New York City Office of Chief Medical Examiner’s statement to Deadline. The spokesperson explained, “Toxicology testing can be done without autopsy.”

In January 2024, Trachtenberg shot back at critics who made harsh comments about her appearance when she posted a selfie to Instagram, saying, “Fun fact. This is my face…Not malnutrition no problems. Why do you have to hate?...

‘Sheriff Country’ Casts ‘The Lincoln Lawyer’ and ‘The Pitt’ Alums as Series Regulars
Image
As the highly anticipated spin-off series Sheriff Country starts to take shape at CBS, new names start getting added to the slate of main stars. Today, the network announced through Deadline two pretty big newcomers that will help elevate the story of the new procedural series: Christopher Gorham and Michele Weaver have joined the show as series regulars. The spin-off is yet to get a release date, but at this point CBS is eyeing the 2025-2026 schedule to debut the first season, probably close to its mothership series Fire Country.

While CBS hasn't unveiled a full synopsis for Sheriff Country, we do know that the series will follow no-nonsense Mickey Fox (Morena Baccarin) as she patrols the streets of Edgewater and investigates cases from the small town. She is the stepsister of Fire Country's Sharon Leone (Diane Farr) and the aunt of Bode Donovan (Max Thieriot). The two new...

Image
[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for NCIS Season 22 Episode 18 “After the Storm.”] LL Cool J reprises his NCIS: LA role as Sam Hanna in the Monday, April 21, episode of NCIS. And with his return — he appeared on the mothership in the LA backdoor pilot and the three-show crossover with Hawai’i — comes a couple of key updates. First of all, Sam is no longer with NCIS. After his Elite team was killed in Hawai’i, he requested a leave of absence because he wanted a change of pace. Now, he’s working in D.C., on the Hill, wearing a suit, dealing with bureaucrats, and doing his best to protect democracy. (One senator comes in handy during the case.) It’s a “course correction,” he tells Knight (Katrina Law) when she checks on him, knowing the grief of losing a team. He asked to be a voice since politicians don’t see ...

Sam Hanna Visits NCIS Season 22 Episode 18, Dropping Small Clues About NCISVerse Favorites
Image
Sam Hanna returned to the universe on NCIS Season 22 Episode 18, bringing with him a vibrant jolt of flavor to savor as the series continues.

I may have seen one episode of NCIS: LA in its history, and I didn’t watch NCIS: Hawai’i other than a few times, either, so I’m kind of in the dark here.

So, that’s the bad news. The good news is that I enjoyed his “return,” even if he was more of a new (but recognizable) face to me.

(Robert Voets/CBS )

So what brought Sam Hanna back to the NCISverse after not one, but two of his previous shows were canceled?

I’m glad you asked.

I was totally on board with the poor guy trying to get a good night’s sleep in his hotel room. Who hasn’t been there (maybe without the squeaky bunny slippers)?

Michelle Trachtenberg
Michelle Trachtenberg’s Cause of Death Identified as Diabetes Complications
Michelle Trachtenberg
The New York City Office of the Chief Medical Examiner has determined that actor Michelle Trachtenberg died from complications related to diabetes mellitus. She was 39.

Trachtenberg was found unresponsive in her Manhattan apartment on February 26. Emergency medical personnel arrived on the scene and pronounced her dead. Authorities reported no signs of foul play.

Initially, the medical examiner did not perform an autopsy, citing a request from the family based on religious considerations. In the absence of criminal suspicion, the office allowed the request. A final ruling was made following analysis of laboratory samples, which confirmed the cause of death.

At the time of her death, NBC News reported that Trachtenberg had recently undergone a liver transplant. The medical examiner’s statement did not mention that procedure in its ruling.

Trachtenberg began acting professionally in early childhood. Her career started with television commercials and a recurring role as Lily Montgomery on All My Children.

Michelle Trachtenberg Cause Of Death Revealed
Image
We have a cause of death for former Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Gossip Girl star Michelle Trachtenberg.

Following a review of laboratory test results, it was determined that Trachtenberg died naturally as a result of complications from diabetes mellitus, the New York City Office of Chief Medical Examiner told Deadline in a statement.

Trachtenberg was found unresponsive in her midtown Manhattan apartment February 26. Paramedics pronounced her dead at the scene. No foul was suspected. She was 39.

The coroner’s office initially said her cause of death would remain undetermined because the family had requested that no autopsy be conducted because of religious reasons. The medical examiner’s office would automatically do an autopsy if foul play or criminality was suspected, but there was none, so the office did not overrule the family’s decision. Following the lab test results, the medical examiner’s office amended the cause of death.

Is 9-1-1: Nashville Gaming the System With Stunt Casting?
Image
It’s no secret that many fans of the 9-1-1 franchise have mixed feelings about adding another series.

Unfortunately, the more series a franchise acquires, the more likely some shows will suffer over others. In the case of 9-1-1, its first spinoff faced a painful death on Fox, and we barely had time to grieve before they were ushering us into a new era.

It would be a bit easier to swallow if 9-1-1: Nashville didn’t already feel as if it’s too close to 9-1-1: Lone Star from location all the way to character and plot setups.

(Disney/Anne Marie Fox)

But one has to imagine that Ryan Murphy and ABC anticipated the frustration and malaise of some fans with this idea, so there feels like a conscious effort to ensure this latest project is big.

For starters, 9-1-1: Nashville was fortunate enough to get a straight-to-series order.

'NCIS' Star LL Cool J Returns to the Hit Series in New Season 22 Clip
Image
Fans of NCISand NCIS: Los Angeles are rejoicing following a new promo for the original series' latest episode. In the Season 22 episode "After the Storm," a certain special agent appears only two seconds into the clip. Although you only see the back of his head for a few seconds, that's all viewers of the franchise need to identify him before they see him fully. Special Agent Sam Hanna is back, and apparently, he's the perfect person to solve this episode-specific homicide case. The suspect will only talk to the fan-favorite character, and in good nostalgic fashion, Agent Hanna is there to get the job done.

Played by hip-hop mogul LL Cool J, in the 21-second clip, Special Agent Sam Hanna gets straight to business. As previously mentioned, viewers can only see him from the back, but the screen is split, showing the point-of-view of other agents telling Hanna they basically need his assistance.

9-1-1's Nashville spinoff just cast another beloved TV star opposite Chris O'Donnell
Image
9-1-1 fans are still mourning the end of Lone Star, but there is plenty reason to be excited about the future of the franchise. The flagship show is still going strong, and now, plans for a second spinoff in Nashville are underway. The spinoff will premiere during the 2025-26 season, and if we're basing our excitement solely on the cast, this will be one of the best shows of the fall.

Deadline confirmed that 9-1-1: Nashville has added Jessica Capshaw to its main cast. Capshaw is best known to television fans as Arizona Robbins, the doctor she played on nine seasons of Grey's Anatomy. The actress knows her way around a procedural drama, as evidenced by her long tenure with Grey's, and we're eager to see what she brings to the table as a radically different character.

Chris O'Donnell's 9-1-1 Spinoff Recruits Grey's Anatomy Alum as Series Regular
Image
9-1-1: Nashville, the next spinoff set in the 9-1-1 universe, has just found another series regular. The casting follows the announcement that Chris O'Donnell would be starring as one of the leads.

Per Variety, it's now been revealed that 9-1-1: Nashville will also star Jessica Capshaw (Grey's Anatomy). Details about the plot of the new show have not yet been revealed, and it's not clear who O'Donnell and Capshaw will be playing. What is known is that, as the title would suggest, the series will focus on first responders working in the famous Tennessee city.

Capshaw has experience at ABC as an alum of the hit medical drama series Grey's Anatomy. Linda Hunt’s absence from NCIS: Los Angeles didn’t go unnoticed, and fans definitely felt the void. As Hetty Lange, she brought a unique presence that was equal parts fierce and mysterious.

Why Linda Hunt's Hetty Left NCIS: Los Angeles
Image
We may receive a commission on purchases made from links.

Any show that makes it to 300 episodes is on a relatively small list in the grand scheme of TV history, especially if we take out the likes of unscripted and talk shows from that list. In the realm of scripted television, it's truly rare air, and it's even rarer when a spin-off manages to accomplish such a feat. Such is the case with "NCIS: Los Angeles," which lasted a whopping 14 seasons spanning 323 episodes. It's even more amazing given that the flagship show "NCIS" was, itself, technically a spin-off of the oft-forgotten "Jag."

The first spin-off in the larger "NCIS" franchise has a great many characters that fans came to know and love over the years, including Chris O'Donnell's Callen and LL Cool J's Sam Hanna. But at or right near the top of that list is Linda Hunt, who...

NCIS: Origins Season 1 ends soon on CBS.

The abbreviated first season of the hit drama concludes with Episode 18.

CBS only ordered 18 episodes for the first season of the NCIS prequel show, possibly fearing it might not be a success.

But Monday nights have been kind to the show, especially with NCIS serving as the lead-in each week.

CBS already ordered NCIS: Origins Season 2. New episodes will begin arriving in the fall of 2025.

Unfortunately, a long summer hiatus is sneaking up on viewers, beginning much sooner than fans might hope.

The NCIS: Origins episode schedule for April 2025

Below is the breakdown of Monday nights for the rest of April 2025.

Three new episodes remain before the show takes its summer break.

We can also see the NCIS: Origins season finale, which debuts on Monday, April 28.

Important guest stars will make their first appearances down the stretch, possibly leading to them returning for more episodes next year.

“Chris O'Donnell Could Be Buck's Cousin:” '9-1-1's Oliver Stark Shares His Nashville Crossover Pitch
Image
Oliver Stark is hoping to see more of the Buckley family across the expanding 9-1-1 universe. The ABC procedural is set to return for its ninth season in the upcoming TV cycle, following its recent renewal alongside fellow scripted hits like The Rookie, Will Trent, and Grey’s Anatomy. The next season will also mark the debut of a new 9-1-1 spin-off, Nashville (probably a working title), set in the heart of the country music capital. With the spin-off expected to share DNA with the flagship series, the chances of a crossover are high. Stark, who plays Evan “Buck” Buckley, one of the 118’s core firefighters, is already looking forward to the possibility of a Buckley family tie-in between both shows.

In his recent interview with ScreenRant, Stark was asked whether he'd be open to a potential crossover with the upcoming spin-off, and his enthusiastic response said it all.

The Big Bang Theory was a CBS hit, and the network greenlit a prequel show called Young Sheldon that told earlier stories about Sheldon Cooper.

NCIS: Origins has worked similarly, telling stories about a younger Leroy Jethro Gibbs.

Young NCIS goes further back, depicting the NCIS cast as they would look in elementary school.

Many NCIS fans loved the April Fool’s Day joke.

Per Variety, 9-1-1 has been renewed for Season 9. It was one of several shows given a renewal order that was announced on Thursday, joining other popular series like The Rookie, Grey's Anatomy, Will Trent, and Shifting Gears. Previously, ABC had doled out renewals for Abbott Elementary and High Potential for the next TV season. This leaves Doctor Odyssey on the bubble, still in danger of getting canceled.

The news of 9-1-1 getting renewed comes after it was announced that another spinoff series is in development. While the network has not ordered any new pilots for the new TV season, ABC gave a new 9-1-1 offshoot a straight-to-series order. Called 9-1-1: Nashville, the show will move the story over to Nashville,...

Adult Swim's Medical Show Is A Hilarious Palate Cleanser For The Pitt Fans
Image
While the movie business has experienced a concerning degree of commercial and critical turbulence over the first three months of 2025, television has stepped up to provide entertainment seekers an impressive array of captivating new series, as well as stellar new seasons from returning shows. "Severance" just stuck the landing at the end of its celebrated second season, "The White Lotus" is back doing its darkly comedic thing with possibly its strongest cast to date, and "The Studio" is a brilliantly brutal Hollywood satire that takes no prisoners in showing viewers how the showbiz sausage is made.

Hence, it's a very high compliment to suggest that the new Max hospital drama, "The Pitt," might be the best of the '25 bunch thus far. Created by R. Scott Gemmill, a TV writing veteran who got his start on "ER" before taking the showrunning reins on "NCIS: Los Angeles," the show is a...

‘Law and Order: Svu’ Names Michele Fazekas First Female Showrunner in Series History
Image
“Law and Order: Svu” has tapped the first female showrunner in the NBC procedural’s long history.

Variety has confirmed with sources that Michele Fazekas has been named showrunner of the cop drama, having previously worked as a writer and co-executive producer on the series from 2001-2006. She takes over the top spot on the series from David Graziano, who has been the showrunner for the past three seasons.

Reps for NBC declined to comment.

“Law and Order: Svu” is currently airing its 26th season. It has not been formally renewed for Season 27 at this time, but is widely expected to be in the coming weeks.

Along with her longtime writing partner Tara Butters, Fazekas was most recently the co-showrunner on “The Boys” spinoff “Gen V” at Amazon. The second season of that show is currently in the works.

With Butters, Fazekas also created shows like “Emergence” and “Kevin (Probably) Saves the World.

NCIS: Origins will revive this Og character for upcoming season finale
Image
NCIS: Origins has been an interesting show to discuss. It's a prequel to the events of the flagship NCIS series, but it's pulling from characters and events that we first heard about two decades ago. We are finally getting to see hallowed NCIS events play out in real time, which gives the show both a fresh appeal and a sense of nostalgia.

Origins will continue to appeal to fans in this unique sense courtesy of its season one finale. The series has already played out the details that led Leroy Jethro Gibbs (Austin Stowell) to kill the man responsible for his wife and child's death. The finale, however, will detail what happens when this violent act is discovered by Gibbs' peers.

Former Sac Lara Macy will return to NCIS

“I began to get some pretty boring stuff”: Underrated $202M Arnold Schwarzenegger Movie May Have Made Linda Hunt Thankful for NCIS: Los Angeles
Image
Arnold Schwarzenegger was the bonafide action star of the ‘80s and ‘90s, but he never shied away from exploring other genres. The actor especially excelled in comedies, collaborating with actors like Danny DeVito and Sinbad to craft some jolly-good comedies in the ‘80s and the ‘90s, while simultaneously beating up bad guys.

One of them was the underrated action-comedy Kindergarten Cop, where he played an undercover police detective posing as a kindergarten teacher. The film was a commercial success, and Schwarzenegger was praised for his acting chops. However, his co-star Linda Hunt implied that her role was too ‘boring’ and made her thankful for NCIS: Los Angeles.

“It Makes Some Sense:” '9-1-1' Star Addresses Crossover Potential With New 'Nashville' Spin-off
Image
9-1-1 is spreading from Los Angeles to Nashville with a new spin-off of the ABC drama series announced earlier in the year. The network has already given a full season order with NCIS: LA alum Chris O'Donnell named to headline the new offshoot. When it does premiere, Nashville will mark the second and only airing 9-1-1 spin-off, replacing the first spin-off,9-1-1: Lone Star, which drew its curtains early this year after five seasons. As fans continue to anticipate what looks to be another thrilling entry into the growing 9-1-1 universe, star, Angela Bassett is already anticipating crossovers between the two shows.

Bassett, who plays LAPD Seargent Athena Grant on the mothership series, recently appeared in a crossover episode with the cruise ship medical drama, Doctor Odyssey. It marked the first time an inter-franchise crossover was happening within the world of Ryan Murphy's created shows and...

Wilmer Valderrama, Rocky Carroll, Gary Cole, Katrina Law, Sean Murray, Brian Dietzen, and Diona Reasonover in NCIS (2003)
NCIS has finished filming for the year.

The NCIS cast wrapped the season on Thursday, filming the final scenes for the season-ending episode.

NCIS Season 22 has done well in the ratings, adding another year of success.

Even the move from Tuesdays to Monday nights hasn’t slowed the show in recent years: It’s still one of the top dramas on TV.

If it seems early to film the final scenes, that’s because it is. The season finale comes up quicker than fans might have hoped.

This is also a shorter season than most. CBS only ordered 20 episodes for NCIS Season 22.

Wilmer Valderrama shares a video from the final day of filming

“That’s a wrap on season 22,” NCIS star Wilmer Valderrama wrote on Instagram.

“See you next season!” he added to the post, which included a fun video.

‘NCIS: Los Angeles’ Alum Chris O’Donnell Joins ‘9-1-1’ Spinoff ‘9-1-1: Nashville’
Image
After spending 14 seasons as Grisha “G” Callen on CBS’ “NCIS: Los Angeles,” actor Chris O’Donnell is returning to television to lead the cast of ABC’s “9-1-1: Nashville,” the second spinoff series from the network’s flagship drama “9-1-1.”

The new iteration received a straight to series order and will help fill the void left by the cancellation of “9-1-1: Lone Star,” which ended its five season run last month on Fox.

According to Deadline, O’Donnell will play Captain Don Sharpe, described as a rugged fire captain and rodeo rider who runs Nashville’s busiest firehouse with his beloved son. Although a devoted husband and family man, Don has secrets he’d like to remain that way.

Written and executive produced by the franchise’s co-creators Ryan Murphy and Tim Minear and “9-1-1: Lone Star” showrunner Rashad Raisani, the show is set to premiere sometime during the 2025-2026 television season,...

NCIS cast: LL Cool J returns to show
Wilmer Valderrama, Rocky Carroll, Gary Cole, Katrina Law, Sean Murray, Brian Dietzen, and Diona Reasonover in NCIS (2003)
The NCIS cast has added LL Cool J for later this season.

As previously reported by Monsters and Critics, a big star was slated to return to the NCIS Universe. Now we know their name.

This is what actor Brian Dietzen (he plays Dr. Jimmy Palmer) was teasing on social media.

LL Cool J is back to play Sam Hanna again. This continues his run on the various NCIS shows.

We first met Hanna in a backdoor pilot for NCIS: Los Angeles during NCIS Season 6.

LL Cool J starred in 323 episodes of NCIS: Los Angeles before jumping to another NCIS spin-off when his show ended.

He was featured on NCIS: Hawai’i Season 3, where the character popped up to help that team.

LL Cool J Isn’t the NCIS Franchise Alum I’d Have Picked to Return
Image
The NCIS franchise is expanding exponentially.

You’d think it would run out of stories after over 20 years on the air.

But despite NCIS: Hawai’i, NCIS: Los Angeles, and NCIS: New Orleans ending their runs, we have the mothership, NCIS: Origins, NCIS: Sydney, and the upcoming NCIS: Tony & Ziva.

(CBS/Screenshot)

Simply put, it’s more alive now than it was a few years ago, which I never envisioned, given the recent hurdles the entertainment industry has faced.

Now, with the news of LL Cool J reprising the role of Special Agent Sam Hanna, it’s hard to be too excited, given that the character has had countless appearances in the broader franchise.

(Sonja Flemming/CBS)

He spent 14 seasons on NCIS: Los Angeles and has already made some appearances on the mothership.

Then there was his 12-episode arc on NCIS: Hawai’i last season, which...
