Two mismatched New York City detectives seize an opportunity to step up like the city's top cops, whom they idolize, only things don't quite go as planned.
The fourth of five collaborations between Will Ferrell and director Adam McKay. The others being Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy (2004), Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby (2006), Step Brothers (2008), and Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues (2013).
In New York City there's a fine line between law and chaos. On that line live Danson and Highsmith.
Before the characters exit the garage in the chase scene, they race up to a stop and you hear a loud engine revving noise. The electric motor in a Pruis wouldn't make that sound at such a low speed.
The end credits are displayed alongside a PowerPoint-style slideshow of statistics on corporate greed and government tolerance.
