  • Saw this movie at a Newport Beach Film Festival in 2012 and was pleasantly surprised! The movie nicely delivers some truths of our current existence: this is indeed how LA looks at night to single women trying to have fun and get "out there"; this is indeed how women talk about everything, including men; these are truly the types of fears, issues and problems that we experience in this day and age, where roles seem to be shifting and particularly in a city where everything and everyone is disposable. And the title reference is painfully relevant to a common assumption so many women make entering a relationship, seeing a potential, instead of what is really there. All this told with a great sense of humor and fantastic soundtrack, ultimately makes for a fun and inspiring movie-time.

I thought this film was very well done overall and has many facets that deal with the life of the two main characters, but that sort of encompass what a significant number of women and people deal with, including mid-life, parenting, happiness, sorrow, frustration, womanhood, the realization of who and what we are now as opposed to our "childhood" fantasies, etc., all while having a witty dialog and a humor to it.

The pace is nice, the visuals are great, it all has a nice flow. Especially for something that is very dialog heavy, which I appreciate, but can be difficult to keep interesting. I think this one does a good job of keeping it natural, interesting, funny and moving. I think it's definitely worth a see!
  • It is a rare that a movie of such a simple nature has such a powerful effect on it's viewers. Fully Loaded is just that...Fully Loaded. It is funny and dark, light hearted and deep, sarcastic and sincere...and most of all its just entertaining. Paula Killen and Lisa Orkin are so easy to watch, with their uncanny ability to keep you in the moment you actually feel like you are along for this crazy ride with them. As the night progresses and the story unfolds you feel more and more a part of it. That sense of connection makes the laughs that much better and the story that much more powerful. I am a HUGE fan of the movie and would recommend it to all! Not to be missed!!
  • ...that intelligent women wrote, and were allowed to star in, an intelligent film about intelligent, REAL women. It would be easy to say this is a 'chick flick' but that would leave out half of the intended audience. And an audience that would benefit from viewing, I might add. Indeed, if guys were to watch this film, and give it its due, they'd be less mystified by the 'other sex'. It is true enough that as a women, I looked, listened and related to Lisa and Paula and their hopes, dream, wishes, concerns and inner voices. But perhaps more important, my husband and I watched it side by side and LISTENED, LAUGHED (and laughed out loud) and then TALKED about it afterward. At the same moments. We also want desperately to own the soundtrack. Really, what more could one hope for?
