  • A generic, one-location thriller, cheap to make but difficult to excel, this has so many clichés mashed together it hurts to watch.

Twenty minutes are used to build up the big-bad in absentia. Phase two is lock-in with a psychopath, an artificially generated time constraint with no way out. This comes complete with power struggles, traitors in our midst and running around shirtless carrying a gun à la Ripley.

Michelle Monaghan is a decent actress, but Sigourney Weaver she is not, we get an abundance of doubting, shouting and pouting, running through nondescript corridors as the body count rises.

This all plays out to a heavily telegraphed ending, so obvious a blind ten-year old could see it coming. Most disturbingly, the makers naïvely included a massive hook for a sequel that nobody wants or needs.

    Lame
I got about half way through then turned it off. Unfortunately, it looks like Jason Clarke is following Bruce Willis and Liam Neeson's career path and starring in terrible low budget action films. This is definitely not a movie I'd recommend. 4 stars.
  • I dunno why some quite good actors (maybe not the absolute first league but decent ones) take part in this endeavour. This movie is not terribly bad, but it is not good also, some very average, generic action/thriller with some bad looking CGI/FX (shooting gun without recoil looks terribly lame for example).

Long story short, if you are abandoned on some desert island and you have absolutely nothing to do - you can try it, otherwise please do anything else.

There's several sorta big names here in this movie and it's almost like they shot it on a weekend. Maybe the actors were doing a favor for some buddies they know who have stock in redbox? When the lead is hunting down the super villain, who is such a badass that was obviously captured of his own accord just so he could be brought here, a place that he probably knows the layout of already, as she's hunting him by herself near the conclusion she never once checks her six. That's behind her in case you don't know. The absurdity in this is stunning. She is not a field agent and even if she could function in this sort of situation she would be head on a swivel but instead it's nose in the same direction straight ahead all the time even though there are passageways and doors all over the place behind her. This is just where I lost patience and had to come leave a review. I don't recall the other disappointing aspects but just a little dash of common sense or maybe it was just low budget and they didn't take the time to.... I don't know....think? Could have been an interesting hour and a half and instead, as another reviewer said, I'm not angry but there is definitely disappointment. But there's always this... It could have been worse.
  • In a word: Boring In two words: Unwatchable dreck.

On the plus side, this is a really good mystery.

It's a mystery how such bad movies get made.

Another mystery is that the purveyors of these steaming pile movies have not realized yet that they must factor into their budget a tidy sum to pay people to come see their crappy movie.
  • In first scene woman talking about Istanbul (Turkey) but it showing scenes from Jeddah (Saudi Arabia). I watched this movie cause of cast, director was looking fine but i was wrong. They shot in one place, story is cliche, there is famous actors/actress but movie is bad.
  • Lame story and bad acting on top. Not even the special effects held up, even though they got a helicopter for the trailer...

I am not angry that i watched it, i am just dissapointed.
  • It begins with a scene of explosion in Istanbul (in Turkey). But they show the city on the map like it is in Saudi Arabia. Is this done on purpose or do they not know the geography?????

    So?
  • Warning: Spoilers
Newb director Sophia Banks in her first full length feature film also tried her best with the terrible screenplay seasoned writer John Collee came up with. It was a cliched, lazily written with an underwhelming narrative that's been told many times before, and much better. There were more plot holes than thrills. E.g. Isn't the telecom hatch a way out lol? Then there was this action scene that looked like it was edited by a 5 year old, irrelevant frames thrown in the middle of the choreography that would make anyone cringe. Even the normally comfortable runtime of 93 mins felt much longer with the slow pacing and long and mostly unnecessary scenes. Don't get me wrong, from the start there seemed to be potential, but then it started to go downhill fast. And the ending - suggesting a sequel, was a Bruce Willis walking behind explosions with a cheesy narrative of what's to come - utterly cliched, unimaginative and cringeworthy. The performances and casting were decent for a B film, although Monaghan deserves better. The score was typical B grade - annoyingly constant and unfitting for the most part. The cinematography was decent as were the sets and location. Had a much better writer put a little more effort into the screenplay, this could've easily been better. A generous 6/10 from me.
  • No....

It should be called Back Hole.

A Black Hole for ideas, entertainment, originality.... Well, it is really bad, sort of a stupid, very generic and forgetable "action" film with the required dose of social commentary. Thirty second after the "movie" ended I could not remember what it was about. The only interesting thing in it were the desert shots. But, we can Google these things right?

And this thing of tough girls (with noodle arms) who look like that typical soccer mom who organizes PTA cookie sales beating everyone and shooting like the best marksman in the universe is getting old.

All in all, there is nothing here.
  • Warning: Spoilers
Agreed, many things could have been done better. But then again what movie has an original story anymore... what cliché hasn't been clubbed to extinction... how many locations do you need to be deemed "good" ?

Yes, the first 90% are predictable, some of the scenes are somewhat exagerated or improbable, but somehow the last 10% make up in some way for this. It is certainly better than the 4 stars it has at this time (dec 2022) albeit not "the" best... the end leaves open a nice door to a possible sequel where some of the slack is taken out.

It's a nice evening filler without too much pretention.
  • ctufan246 May 2022
Decent for an independent film. Few main stream actors. CGI isn't great and certain moments where the choreography seemed off. Could of been better I think if it had the financial backing.
  • I watched Black Site because of the cast (Michelle Monaghan, Jai Courtney, Jason Clarke) - yes, in the end I was a little disappointed but nevertheless entertained to a certain degree too. The cast works well, the production is solid, but sadly the plot and story not: too generic the plot is and there are some really head scratching moments (like how the guards get overwhelmed by the bad guy). Anyway, you may try this one if you are interested in the cast and if you like that kind of special op movies - just don't expect too much.
  • Warning: Spoilers
The story has been told many times before but if the storyteller is good it can be freshened up.

I believe every movie should hire a "logic director" to watch for all the stuff that is confusing or doesn't make sense. But first I have to admit that there were some things happening that, at first, didn't seem to make sense. And though we find out later why they happened, the viewer is angry/upset/frustrated until the confusion is straightened out. At least, I was and I almost turned it off after about ½ hour. I definitely enjoyed picking this movie apart much more than I did watching it. Many spoilers ahead but I recommend that you have watched the movie before reading further because you won't be able to follow along.

Here's a list: 1. The prisoner Hatchet is brought in and handcuffed in the cell. Somehow, impossibly, he gets out of the handcuffs, kill one interrogator and injures another. With what we know at this point it's impossible. What we learn later is he's with the CIA so someone must have unshackled him. Two of the interrogators are inexplicably wearing masks!!! Conveniently, allowing Hatchet to pose as one of masked guys. Abby et al. Bust into the interrogation room and don't notice that Hatchet is not there!!!! Remember there were two guards left outside the room so there was no way he could escape.

    2. The injured man is taken to sick bay and although Hatchet sprays the security camera with a semi-clear liquid it's not enough to hide the scuffle. Even if the security team monitoring the situation couldn't make out what was happening they would at least know that something is wrong because the camera view is fuzzy. Camera views are not normally fuzzy.

    3. Minor quibble - Abby mispronounces Rashid as "Ra shid" instead of "Ra sheed" - you know, her boss for 10 months??

    4. Abby doesn't spend much time at the interrogation room and goes directly to sick bay where Rashid dies in about 20 seconds. Then she calls the watch tower but somehow Hackett has had enough time to kill all three guards there, where they are located in a room with a large window so it would be hard for Hatchet to sneak up on them.

    5. When Abby gets no answer she calls Mia at the command center but oops, it's too late, she'd dead, too. Along with equipment smashed including external coms.

    6. Do you notice that Abby is always running and Hatchet is always walking slowly?

    7. Abby initiates lockdown which conveniently, for Hatchet and the plot, doesn't lockdown the prisoners or the armory or anything else inside.

    8. The guards at the "jail" are killed somehow in their secure guard house. There are only two men sent to secure all the prisoners and keep Hatchet from getting to Farhan.

    9. Abby sees Hatchet on the security monitor walking down toward Farhan's cell. Does she call for guards to rush there to protect him" No, she just says secure the prisoners.

    10. Hatchet gets to Farhan's cell but doesn't kill him but does so later, why?

    11. With one easy blow, and I mean really easy, Hatchet breaks a pretty substantial looking lock on the circuit breaker box and bare handed rips out enough wiring to shut down all the lights in the place. You have to be pretty lucky to be not only extraordinarily strong enough to rip out wiring (if you are familiar with the electrical codes) and lucky not to be electrocuted.

    12. Hatchet quickly/walking slowly makes it back to the cell blocks, kills a good guy and nonchalantly walks away with nobody noticing. His timing is perfect, as usual.

    13. The Mossad, guy, Uri, is posted in the watchtower to find Hatchet on the security cameras but conveniently the place is designed with lots of blind spots.

    14. Conveniently audio coms are patchy on level 4 (they've been meaning to fix that!) 15. Abby heads to the server room where they keep all the goodie secrets with no backup.

    16. Checking the computer, she notices that there have been recent security breach attempts half a day ago that nobody noticed and it's never explained.

    17. While on the computer, Uri discovers the translator, Tessa, has tried to access the site from a remote location. I don't know what that means but Uri is sure the Tessa is a bad guy and tried to call and warn Abby but the coms just won't cooperate. Uri checks the security logs and sees Mia letting Tessa into the command center. We don't see Mia being attacked but Uri somehow makes that assumption.

    18. At that exact moment, Tessa, instead of shooting Abby in the back of the head, decides to chat instead, now giving Abby the time to pick up a keyboard (or something) and with Tessa holding the gun conveniently close enough knocks the gun out of her hand.

    19. All this time no one had decided it might be a good idea to secure the armory where Hatchet has had time to rig a timed charge.

    20. Hatchet sneakily sneaks up on Chaplain and grabs him using him as a shield and points his gun at Abby and Westley. Now, we all know Hatchet is a cold blooded killer but he's given a warning to drop his gun; his response is he kills Westley and shoots at Abby.

    21. Have you noticed that nobody in this movie is wearing a bullet proof vest?

    22. Meanwhile, on level two Hatchet w/Chaplain move into a blind area, frustrating Uri and me.

    23. Abby is searching the living quarters and Uri gives an update "Hatchet is on the move". Isn't that informative?

    24. Uri decides that he might be able to rig up a Sat phone, really? I mean, you don't have to rig a Sat phone, you just turn it on.

    25. Miller and Tessa have a fractured, non-productive conversation where Miller acts like Tessa has given him the way to get out of the Black site. Later, Miller really screws things up. When Abby shows up, Miller kills Tessa right in front of her, which puts him in a very difficult situation if Abby lives to report him, if he was smart he would kill her, but he decides, no. They have a showdown, with Miller and his buddy pointing their guns at Abby and Abby pointing her gun at Miller. Abby knows that if she gives up her gun Miller will kill her but she does it any way and though Miller(idiot) doesn't kill her he locks her up which is a death sentence for her, considering the drone is on the way. Meanwhile, Uri should have been watching and listening to the 'mutiny" 26. Miller and his buddy take Farhan to the breakroom? And goes to the middle of the room exposing all three of them from multiple directions so that Hatchet can do his usual appearing-instantly-from-nowhere-behind-everybody's-back. Hatchet throws a knife at Miller's buddy which hits him in the non-lethal shoulder killing him instantly. The Hatchet and Miller fight ends with Miller's neck slit by the glass in the oven door. Now most people don't know this but the modern oven door glass is tempered which is 5 times stronger than regular glass and doesn't break into shards like regular glass, it just crinkles. Plus, the oven door glass is actually 4 separate pieces of glass. Hatchet is not going to knock Miller's head through it. What should have happened when Hatchet slammed the door down was for Millers head to bounce off and probably hit the floor.

    27. Abbey goes out the antenna access where there is no antenna, where she is outside and free (why doesn't she just escape????) to connect the satellite phone to the dish? Antenna? But we all know satellite phones only need a satellite, right???

    28. Meanwhile Uri shoots Chaplain after he's forced out of the elevator wearing clothes to make him look like Hatchett though Hatchet never wore those clothes. Uri makes sure he's dead with a second shot before verifying that he really is Hatchet even though we know that he knows that Chaplain might still be alive.

    29. Abby contacts "Homestead" (I assume her powers that be) gives the security code to abort the drone but there is a Republican on the other end of the line who replies "Abortion, no can do". Abbey accepts it without a fuss not even asking to speak to the guy's manager; she can be such a doormat.

    30. Abby confronts Hatchet and shoots him twice in the legs but doesn't kill him. He being CIA, pleads with her to go back together and they can straighten things out. Did he really believe that she would be such a good sport, knowing that he killed her husband and child? There was no way she could go back without implicating the powers that be in all there badness.

    31. Now that I think about it, how did she know that the drone strike on the hospital was done by the CIA? A lot of things are not explained in this movie.

    32. Drone's ordinance is limited to about 50 lbs. Would that be enough to blow through those heavy duty blast doors and go to the lower and upper levels of the Site? WW2 bombs which weighed up to 500lbs. That were dropped on ships didn't necessarily sink them. A Javelin, that can destroy a tank (but not annihilate it) has an explosive charge of 18.5 lbs.

    33. The remote Black site was conveniently located by a nice road close enough that she could walk to. Heck, she didn't even need to carry food or water. I was expecting a camel train of nomads that would end up selling her into the white slave trade.

    34. At the very end, both her and her ride were trusting souls weren't they?

    35. I noticed that this movie had a female director, this could have been a great movie if Kathryn Bigelow had been at the helm.
  • The acting is so poor, it feels like they got actors off of Craigslist. Absolutely garbage writing makes it that much worse.

Save your time and money. My husband used a free Redbox code and I would have rather that he let it expire than make me sit through this movie.
  • A 1 star review means it is the worst movie you have ever seen and there are plenty of those to choose from but not this, so i wish reviewers would learn to review properly on here its almost as bad as the 10 star shills.

The main female character is a bit miscast to be fair but most of the action and acting is about on par with the budget.

It is not as bad as people are making out, if you like your action movies and don't mind the budget it should suffice for an average nights viewing; yes it is not going to be London Has Fallen or another blockbuster but nor does it pretend to be and should be reviewed as such.

It is not mind blowing or with massive amounts of CGI but has some decent kills and fight scenes; i particularly liked the death by oven door scene and Jason Clarke does pull off a rather menacing and deadly bad guy. It is just a shame they cast Michelle Monaghan, although she does look good for a 50 year old, she just cannot do the hard nut female lead, we needed a Ripley or Vasquez to really lift this action thriller above the mediocre!
  • This was just dreadful.

It started with that scene 5 mins into the movie when her boss in glasses talks to her at the stairs - he might actually be THE worst actor I've ever seen and it just immediately took you out of the movie and you started seeing it as D-movie...which...it turned out to also be.

    Uuugh...this was SO bad!
  • Why did the excellent Jason Clark and the always dependable, great looking Jai Courtney , along with OK actress Monaghan agree to do this. I guess they needed a paycheck. Produced by Redbox, I have no idea what this was about because after 20 minutes of nothing happening, I gave up. Completely bored , and Monaghan's sappy unrealistic character in the lead was borderline offensive. Believe the bad reviews, doing anything else is better than suffering through this.
  • Sophia Banks' debut feature, Black Site, an action thriller starring Jason Clarke, Michelle Monaghan and Jai Courtney in Australia's Gold Coast, in February 2021. "Black Site" is a nail-biting thriller that displays chills, white-knuckled fights and grisly killings . Stars an operative (Michelle Monaghan) who lost her husband and daughter ten months earlier in a terrorist attack on an Istanbul hospital. A group of officers in a super-secret subterranean setting carry out their dark activities . It is a labyrinthine top-secret prison and there must fight for their lives against Hatchet (Jason Clarke who dominates the movie as a virtually indestructible murderer) , a brilliant and infamous high-value detainee who executes stabbing on unfortunate victims in quick succession , a half dozen times, soaking their bodies in their own gore. The setting is a Middle Eastern prison site, where some special ops are struggling to contain a violent escaped prisoner. When he gets away, his mysterious and deadly agenda has far-reaching and dire consequences.

A hair-rising thriller with suspense , action and intrigue in the Jordanian Desert . The story has been told many times before , the lack of deep characters and ordinary dialogue would almost be forgivable if the action was decent . Nevertheless, being an underestimated film , enhanced by fine performances, twisted intrigue and thrills enough . Stars Michelle Monaghan who gives a nice acting as the tough , two-fisted agent Abigail 'Abby' Trent . And Jason Clarke who steals the show as a cold-blooded killer who won't stop until he achieves his evil purposes , as he displays no qualms about murder by stabbing the victims again and again with a knife in some gory scenes. Jason Clarke and Jai Courtney both starred together in Terminator Genisys in 2015 and were also both born in Australia. "Black Site" keeps you in its cross-hairs until the last second , concluding with an Armageddon of an explosion and the producers leave things open for a follow-up. I was admittedly entertained for a good portion in this bone-chilling movie despite its innocuous and tiring dialogue. None of it is inventive or new ; it's just your murder mystery with action-packed that is high on chills and high on cheese , but t's worth a one time watch .

It contains an adequate cinematography by veteran cameraman Donald McAlpine shot on location in Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia and Pinnacle Studios, Helensvale, Queensland, Australia . As will as suspenseful and and pulsing music score by Patrick Savage and Holeg Spies. New director , award-winning , Sophia Banks shot this her first full length feature film providing an acceptable action movie . Australian Banks' debut sci-fi short, Unregistered, starring Dylan Penn and Trevor Jackson, premiered at the 2019 Tribeca Film Festival and went on to screen at over twenty film festivals worldwide. She directed her second short, Proxy, during the pandemic in 2020. Banks established herself as a director with her 2017 short, Making it on Time for Christian Siriano. The film featured women in couture gowns skateboarding through Downtown Los Angeles' industrial alleyways. And Banks has directed numerous award-winning commercials for famous brands . Rating : 6/10 . Acceptable and passable movie.

This had real promise, and some decent actors, so I was really looking forward to it.

The saying you can't polish a t*rd comes to mind.

The last words of the film were "they won't know what's coming".

    Hopefully it's not a sequel.
  • Warning: Spoilers
The best suspense thrillers are like time bombs that tick down to an explosive finale. Freshman director Sophia Banks and rookie writer Jinder Ho emphasize every spine-tingling second in "Black Site" (*** OUT OF ****), a cat & mouse game about global terrorism in the ultimate top-secret facility. Michelle Monaghan relies on her brains, while mortal enemies Jason Clarke and Jai Courtney battle each other with bloody fists and gimlet eyes. Everything unfolds beneath the sun-scorched sands of a Jordanian desert at a high-tech, labyrinth-like complex codenamed 'Citadel.' Five English speaking democracies-the US, the UK, Canada, Australia & New Zealand-comprise the Five Eyes Alliance. First, they share all their intel and store it on servers. Second, they maintain a clandestine prison for the world's worst terrorists. Occasionally, they let Israeli Intelligence eavesdrop on their conversations. Our heroine is a widowed CIA analyst, Abby Trent (Michelle Monaghan of "Machine Gun Preacher"), who lost her husband and daughter ten months earlier in a terrorist attack on an Istanbul hospital. Abby lives by the book. Before her superior dispatches her to Citadel, he warns her books aren't popular where she is going. Lately, she has grown obsessed with one particular suspect. Farhan Barakat (Simon Elrahi) may have ties to an infamous extremist known simply as Hatchet (Jason Clarke of "Zero Dark Thirty"), who may have masterminded the hospital strike. Incredibly, the unforeseen occurs when the CIA snatch Hatchet and haul him off in cuffs to Citadel! Elated by this turn of events, Abby watches as Hatchet emerges from a stealth chopper with a bag over his head.

However, nothing is what it seems, and trouble rears its ominous head. Twenty minutes into this violent, 93-minute, R-rated nailbiter, Hatchet pulls a Houdini, plunges Citadel into pandemonium, and embarks on a homicidal rampage. Tenacious and intelligent, Hatchet trumps every obstacle in Citadel with nonchalant ease. Not only does this intruder disable all links with the outside world, but he also jeopardizes the facility's very existence. When installations like Citadel suffer a breach, we're told the CIA waits about an hour and then orders a drone with missiles to vaporize it! Surprisingly, everybody Abby trusted turns out to be treacherous, while the few she depended on crumple like paper dolls. Even those she hated, principally Miller (Jai Courtney of "Terminator Genisys"), a brawny braggart who learns the essence of pain when he takes on Hatchet. Confining the mayhem to a claustrophobic, subterranean complex for a battle royale generates nerve-racking suspense and fuels our fears while Hatchet whittles the good guys down one by one without breaking a sweat. After the first 40 minutes of firefights and fisticuffs, things settle down with Abby and Hatchet scrutinizing each other like opponents in a chess match. Mind you, Abby fears she may be in over her head.

Tough guy Jason Clarke dominates "Black Site" as a virtually indestructible villain. He displays no qualms about murder, and nothing slows him down as he wades into his enemies like a 1980s serial killer with a mask. The difference is Hatchet wears a smirk instead of a mask. Wielding a blade at one point, Hatchet ices two adversaries, stabbing them in rapid succession a half dozen times, soaking their bodies in their own gore. Moreover, he steals a page from Hannibal Lector's playbook in "Silence of the Lambs" (1991). If you recall Lector's ruse in the Memphis scene that enabled him to escape from his cage, you'll see how Hatchet has improvised for similar results. Now, a desperate Abby confronts Hatchet and battles this one-man army to a share-all-secrets stalemate. During those final minutes, Abby grasps the irony when she realizes why her superiors sent her to Citadel as well as Hatchet's timely arrival. All the soul-eroding revelations Abby has endured cannot compare with the Herculean chore she undertakes when she catches her second wind. "Black Site" concludes with an Armageddon of an explosion. Nevertheless, the filmmakers leave things open for a sequel. Altogether, with its super-secret subterranean setting, robust performances, and white-knuckled thrills, "Black Site" keeps you in its cross-hairs until the last second!
  • Ok, I've read lots of the reviews here (both positive and negative), and here are my thoughts with about a half-hour left to go in my initial viewing of this film (which is another in the free offerings from Kanopy, the movie app available on your smart TV that is sponsored by your local Public Library at no cost to you if you have a library card): first, I understand the complaint several folks had about the opening credits, which show satellite images of an explosion purportedly in Turkey, yet the eye-in-the-sky shot clearly shows the explosion taking place somewhere else in the Middle East...causing some reviewers to lament the ignorance of the presumably American filmmakers for not knowing where Turkey is. I believe the truth on this point is either, A) yes, the filmmakers are inconsiderate morons, or (and more likely), B) what we're witnessing here is one of the occasionally unfortunate byproducts of modern filmmaking, where an SFX team was hired to provide satellite images of an explosion in the Middle East, without the producers of the film having yet decided exactly "where" that explosion was to have taken place - a not altogether uncommon situation in the production of films, regardless of their country of origin.

Next, some reviewers have claimed the film's main villain isn't very scary...well, he seems pretty darn scary to me, and I guess we'll just have to agree to disagree on this point.

Now, as to those who feel this movie is yet another nail in the coffin of men being the action heroes of movies, with women taking over the role they once held; okay, yes, the heroine in this film does play an important role (remember, I've yet to see the ending), but the background they've given her as a whip-smart CIA analyst is the primary skill set she has displayed so far, and if the movie ends with her beating the crap out of the main bad guy - whom I've already proclaimed to BE a really BAD guy, then maybe I'll swing the other way on this point. But those of you who used to read books (like me) before we let movies become pretty much our sole entertainment medium, may recall the classic by John Steinbeck called "The Grapes of Wrath", and will remember how control of the Joad family was eventually ceded to Ma Joad, as Pa had been so beat down by Life that she had no choice but to take over. So, I'm just saying this isn't a 2022 phenomenon, and besides that, lighten up a little, and admit that sometimes women will be smarter and even tougher (emotionally and yes, even physically) than men, and that we should consider ourselves, no matter our gender, as members of the same team, guys!

Okay, time to finish the movie, I just wanted to address those few points before I pass out (it's my day off tomorrow, and the gin has been flowing rather freely this evening!)

    ******

Alright, the end credits are rolling, and while our heroine did manage to "best" the Bad Guy, she did it with a gun, at close range, so I don't see anything so very unbelievable about that. And yes, the end of the film clearly sets us up for a sequel which promises to have her ferreting out the CIA rat who ordered the air strike responsible for the deaths of her husband and daughter, which I'd be happy to see someday!

So, all in all, a very exciting and fun watch, filled with heroic (and despicable) exploits by both men and women, and very well filmed (some reviews had led me to believe the movie would mostly take place in dark, shadowy corridors), so I'm giving this an easy 7 stars, and encourage anyone who likes action movies to give this one a try.... Peace! MFF/Honolulu 8-31-22.
  • At the beginning of this movie it says "There was a bombing in Istanbul" and they show it in a map as if Istanbul is in Saudi Arabia!

It is for me very disappointing that there was nobody in the movie crew to notice this for a possible correction. How low of an edication can they have not to see this?

The place shown in the map is S. Arabia and somewhere between Suval and Dabahan, about 2500 miles away from Istanbul (wich is located in Türkiye) And Canada is a country of its own and not a city of USA. Some americans don't know this also. I saw that in a street reportage in america. You guys seriously need to check out your education system.
  • Warning: Spoilers
This film start with the news broadcasting about a bombing at Istanbul hospital, and the introduction of the main character "Abby" scene! As turnout, this film is about an woman "Abby" need to take revenge on a CIA agent "Hatchet", who responsible for the death of Abby's husband, and daughter! Entire film full of boring conversation, and annoying overuse scene! Such as, overuse of the walking scene, overuse of the searching scene, overuse of the arguing scene, overuse of the calling names scene, overuse of the staring scene, overuse of the running scene, overuse of the shouting scene, overuse of the blackout scene, overuse of the drinking scene, overuse of the interrogate scene, overuse of the monitoring scene, overuse of the playing snooker scene, overuse of the alerting voice command scene, and overuse of the holding gun scene! Make the film unwatchable! All the action scene have blood, things broken, and explosion at certain point, but overall portray by sideways, have slow motion, and occur in too short of time! Make the film frustrated to watch! At the end, Abby escape from the detain facility, and Hatchet killed by the drone strike! That's it! Another disappointed film!

    Meh
    Really really boring.

It should be good with this cast...but it's not Monaghan isn't really an action star.

Jason Clarke is good...hardly speaks but good at being a killer Seems to be patched together with no real substance to the plot.
