In a post-apocalyptic wasteland, a woman rebels against a tyrannical ruler in search for her homeland with the aid of a group of female prisoners, a psychotic worshiper, and a drifter named Max.
Of the actresses seen as the Five Wives, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Abbey Lee (her film debut), and Riley Keough have done runway modelling prior to acting. Huntington-Whiteley and Lee are past Victoria's Secret models (Lee was featured during the 2008 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show during the Pink Planet segment). Courtney Eaton started as a child and teen model prior to acting, and is a close friend to Lee.
My name is Max. My world is fire and blood. Once, I was a cop. A road warrior searching for a righteous cause. As the world fell, each of us in our own way was broken. It was hard to know who was more crazy... me... or everyone else.
Max's tattoo in the beginning of the movie says that he is 10 hands tall. If one used the current equestrian measurement of one hand (the width) being four inches, it would mean that Max was 3'4" tall - which he clearly isn't. In the film, however, there are no references to horses nor any signs of them, thus no reason to assume the equestrian measurement is being used (or even known about). If the length of a hand were used instead of the width, ten hands would be about right. Fingertip to heel of an adult male hand is roughly seven inches which would make ten hands a measurement of 5'10", whereas Tom Hardy is actually 5'9" tall.
Near the end of the credits there is a memorial dedication that reads "Lance Allen Moore II, May 24, 1987 - March 10, 2015." Apparently Moore was a Mad Max fan killed in a motorcycle accident near Silverton, New South Wales, Australia, where Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior (1981) was filmed.
George Miller prepared a black-and-white version named 'Mad Max: Fury Road. Black & Chrome' edition. It received a theatrical release in December 6th 2016 in some countries.
