I don't know what the intended message is. The times between one person and another to "love" are not necessarily the same, if there is affection between them, the rest comes alone.
You can skip all his scenes this season and you miss nothing. He's a terrible character and his story is painfully unbelievable and uninteresting. It's so seperate, why is he still apart of this show? Did they not hear all the negative feedback from last season about him? They're forcing it down our throats and we don't want it.
The show can still be light and fun, but it slowly devolved from a relatable college comedy to a political statement, as things often do on Netflix.
Many storylines feel pointless, boring and needlessly dramatic, not to mention complete unbelievable. Ruby, Adam, Isaac, Maeve's mom, Michael... all these storylines just suck and are so different to what the show used to be about. Instead of funny scenes with young nerds dealing with sex issues and the social aspects of being at college, you now have ridiculous drama with hot 25 year old people pretending to be normal teens.
The show feels the need to talk endlessly about all the trendy issues of racism, homosexuality, sexism, disabilities, non-binary people etc., probably because the main story just isn't good anymore. It used to hint at these issues before as well and that is fine, but now it is just done so bluntly, one-sidedly and at the expense of the plot.
Oh well, classic Netflix running out of ideas so it just shoves all the US propaganda down your throat and gets covered by the media for being "progressive". The story is really getting old now.

The writing and acting have been quality regardless of the absurd woke agenda level. However this one takes it to a level that the show is unwatchable except for a select few. This episode seems bent on just that one line when they had so much to explore after the previous episode.
I resisted watching for the first three season. I thought it was going to be just another teenage sitcom type of show. Then Ncuti Gatwa was chosen for the next Doctor Who, I though I'd find out what all the fuss was about. Then I spent the next four days binged-watching seasons 1 through 3. The characters are quirky and likable (for the most part). The writing is stellar. The show is loaded, if not overloaded with sexual over tones. Taken as a whole, it's one of the best shows I've seen in a while. I would compare this show to Ted Lasso...a show I never wanted to watch, thought it would be terrible, but became a big fan.
Otto and Eric are the best straight and funny man combination in a long time (no pun intended). Jean and Jacob are great to together It can be ridiculous, serious, funny and touching, all in the space of the 55 minutes episodes. My wife put it best, 'this show punches above its weight class.'
I won't spoil the storylines, but give it a few episodes, this is a great show. If you're easily offended, maybe not.

- GoofsDuring the video regarding STD's, both HIV and AIDS are mentioned as separate potential diseases. In fact AIDS (Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome) is the disease produced after long-term infection with HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus). HIV per se is thus not a disease, but the causative factor.

Jakob Nyman: [to Otis] People deserve your whole heart. If you can't give them that, it's better they know. It's the kinder thing to do.
