| Wrong Actor to play MacGyver
I was looking forward to the MacGyver, but the guy playing it is By contrast, the retread MacGyver, is a poster boy for "mainstream" values, including, the US military. He's also smug, over confident, a womanizer and frankly, a thoroughly unlikable jerk. Its tiresome stuff, that in many ways is the complete anti-thesis of the original series. There's no sense of hope and inspiration, as found in Richard Dean Anderson's character. Nathan McLeod or Liam Hemsley, or some other actor would be better. Casting makes the difference between success and failier. Also if your are going to redo a series, either make it as close to the original as possible with casting as close as possible, or total upgrade it. If you want the show to succeed recast MacGyver. also, stop introducing the character as Angus MacGyver, it's just MacGyver. Maybe MacGyver the next generation, ie MacGyver's son or grandson.... Phoenix next gen. would be a better run for the show. If doing MacGyver, how about redoing Airwolf?
