Must watch in theatre. Mammookka Amal Neerad combo after 15 years won't dissapoint you. Every single cast has given there best out of them. Soubin and Shine tom was just vere level.
  • Its an amazing commercial movie. First half becomes a little laggy. And second half was good but the last 30min was fire just like varathan's last 20min. Amal neerad magic. Its just a small bomb before the nuke Bilal 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

    10/10
    Insane
Amal Neerad had proved he's one of a kind in period drama through Iyyobinte pusthakam, and he's a king in the action genre through big B. He's blended both the genres here while at the same time blending it with a modern day tribute to the Godfather with elements of Mahabharata. Each frame is a treat, so is Mammookka's unparalelled performance. Bgm is on a whole next level. If you miss it in theatres, well it's your lose. Take the tickets without hesitation.

PS: the fans of some actor have tried their best to degrade this film, but in vain. Now there's no point in crying anymore, just JAVO. Bheeshma is a winner.
  • How can a movie with a weak script like this got this much rating. I once beleived in imdb ratings. But this rating is manipulated. A normal viewer cannot give more than 6 rating for this movie. For those who viewed God father this plot is not new for the. Amal neerad copied his 'BIG B' tricks too. But this slowmotion techniques is getting boring as everybody is doing it. Nothing new nothing interesting. Just a fan hyped movie.
  • A must watch movie for mamooka fans and movie lovers . The movie never get bored because of the direction of amal neerad and the entire actors in this movie done a great performances especially shine tom and saubin.
  • Exactly what you'd expect when it's The Godfather meeting Mahabharata in the hands of Amal Neerad. His signature style of slow motion throughout the film along with Sushin Sham's music made the first half exhilarating with all the build ups. The first half was way better than I expected in that sense but then everything was rushed so much in the end that it didn't reach the potential it had but still made an entertaining watch.

It's been a long time since Mammootty has been seen as stylish and menacing as in this. The whole ensemble cast was fantastic and stylish at the same time in a way rarely seen in Malayalam films. The songs included, even if it doesn't feel like really leading up to it, gives enough swag to everyone involved that they work so well. This is one of those films that could've been way better if it had more runtime. A 30 minute addition would have worked very well.

The small but dominating presence of both of the late actors Nedumudi Venu and KPAC Lalitha was a cherry on top.

    💓Beeshmaparvam💓

🔥 Mammootty and Amal neerad Again with Massive Movie.. 🔥🔥

BGM 👌 Each and every Actors.. Excellent

It's going to be Massive hit of the year

    100% Pisa vasool👌👌
  • Malayalam take on season 4 of peaky blinders, still entertaining and wholesale.

You can guess the story ahead of the secenes but it doesn't mean that you should not watch it, it's one of the best work of Indian movies this year.
  • Good actors but the movie is absolute trash.

Over use of slow motion - looks like it was made to boost the modeling career of the antihero.

Definitely a mass movie but it does not come even close to the likes of Rajamanikkam or Naran.
  • Mammooka screen presence is the main point to be discussed and highlighted.

1st half is awesome and second half is astonishing.

A different experience in theatre gonna be promised. Must watchable movie.

Amal Neeradh, Sushin SHyam, Soubin, SHine nailed it guys... Casting is superb.. Each & every role has defined and valued in the movie... Unexpected story line and the cenematography is well.
  • It is a Well made movie from Amal Neerad. He has proved once again why he is one of the great minds in Malayalam Film industry. One of the biggest pillar of the movie is of course Mammukka, his screen presence is on point. Soundtrack especially the BGMs are top notch. • Mammootty & Amal Neerad reunite after 15 years to give us another pulsating, goosebumps inducing, BGM heavy, highly stylised revenge drama.

Set in the 80s, Bheeshma Parvam is the story of an influential family in Kochi that is helmed by Michael. He makes decisions for his family keeping their best interests in mind. But a few family members do not approve of his authority and concoct a plan to kill him.

There is one (make that two) thing(s) that is guaranteed with Amal Neerad films: highly stylised shots and an excellent background music. The opening credits of the movie is by far one of the best I have watched on the big screen. Though I am not a fan of slo-mo fight sequences, but that is a given with Neerad. The plot is inspired by Godfather & Mahabharat. Many of the characters are inspired from those stories with Mammotty's Michael being the celibate, Bheeshma. They are very subtle references, so make sure you brush up on the mythology before you draw parallels (Maala Parvathi as modern day Gandhari with shades throughout). Apart from that the story doesn't have anything new to offer. It is the same old revenge drama that works primarily due to the cast & BGM.

Mammotty is excellent as the saviour, Michael. He can't do anything wrong. His lack of vulnerabilities is what makes it difficult to digest. He always wins. Shine Tom Chacko was my favourite. He was totally in his comfort zone as Peter. His dance moves are killer! And speaking of dance moves, Soubin Shahir gets a chance to shine as well. Nedumudi venu & KPAC Lalitha make one of their last screen appearances. The ensemble cast also include Sreenath Bhasi, Farhaan Faasil, Anasuya Bharadwaj, Dileesh Pothan, Jinu Joseph, Lena, Anagha, Srindaa, Sudev Nair, Harish Uthaman, Shebin Benson among others.

Bheeshma Parvam does not offer anything new with respect to the story (especially the final act) but Amal Neerad's vision and Sushin Shyam's music make this a must watch movie at the theatres.
  • Perhaps no recent film has had fans as excited as "Bheeshma Parvam", with celebrated director and arguably India's most technically proficient cinematographer Amal Neerad combining with Mammootty, 15 years after the era-defining "Big B" (2007). And the prodigious duo do not disappoint, delivering a sparkling gangster saga that captivates with its visual grammar, making optimal use of Mammootty's irrepressible swagger.

Writers Devadatt Shaji and Amal Neerad himself cleverly adapt elements from "The Godfather" (1972) and the Mahabharatha and customize it to the backdrop of Fort Kochi and Mattancherry in the 80s and early 90s. Attention to detail is Amal Neerad's hallmark and we have come to take that for granted from the celebrated storyteller. Nevertheless, the Beatles-themed song sequences, callbacks to iconic yesteryear brands like Cuticura and Kodak as well as the depiction of the essence of Kochi like only an Amal Neerad camera can, still leaves you spellbound.

Like most eagle-eyed observers would have deduced from the movie's title and the trailer, Mammootty stars as an ageing patriarch in a mafia family, thrown into the midst of simmering tensions among two sets of his brethren. Torn between familial duty and a sense of what is right and wrong, the movie follows his Michael Coreleone-esque path through negotiation, compromise, betrayal, retribution and ultimately, redemption.

Despite the predictability of the storyline, the director builds a deep connection between the audience and the core characters with emotionally charged sequences and hard-hitting dialogue. Sushin Shyam's mesmerizing, almost hypnotic music adds several layers to the narrative, elevating the mass sequences and imbuing depth and soul into the characters, especially the ones played by Sreenath Bhasi and Soubin Shahir. The brilliant "Parudeesa" has become a viral sensation and has been stuck in my head for days.

That Mammootty dominates every scene he is in goes without saying and is ably supported by an in-form Shine Tom Chacko, who delivers a second straight knockout performance as the diabolical "Peter", backing up his career-best outing as Bhasi Pillai in "Kurup" (2021). Dileesh Pothen and Sudev Nair are the other standouts in what was perhaps an overstuffed cast, with many characters that were mere bystanders in the larger scheme of things, played by big-name actors for no rhyme or reason.

Nadhiya Moidu, Lena and the very capable Srindaa are wasted in underwritten and underdeveloped roles while Telugu star Anusurya Bharadwaj manages to hold her own as "Alice" in what is her debut in Malayalam cinema. To see Nedumudi Venu and KPAC Lalitha make their mark in their swansong performances was especially heartening to see, especially in roles that are a far cry from what we are used to seeing from them off late.

The action sequences deserve special mention, with camera work never before seen in Malayalam cinema, accentuated by the adrenaline-pumping, psychedelic BGM by Sushin Shyam. Amal Neerad is easily the one director who knows how to get the best out of Mammootty, using his superstar judiciously but with enormous impact, whenever he is on screen.

A film that carries on from where Big B left, "Bheeshma Parvam" is the mass film Malayalee audiences have been craving for long. Equal parts style, substance and effective fan service, Amal Neerad has blown it out of the park, yet again.

Highly recommended. A mandatory theatre watch!!
  • Mammooty age is just a number surprises u all the way with his effortless dialogue and subtle performance...tom chacko is the show stealer with his arrogance and crazyness at close up shots....another typical AMAL NEERAD film which doesnt dissappoint u with his brilliant cinematography characterization and mannerism, this flick is a neat package not to be missed.

Amal Neerad is back with a bang after Varathan. It was extraordinary movie. Expecially Mega Star Mammootty. His swag is 🔥. Especially Soubin also. As a viewer first half is lovable for me. Second half is not far above first half. But don't miss it in theatres. Sushin's bgm is lit 🔥
  • Warning: Spoilers
#Spoiler The movie first half tried its best to fit Mahabharat premise to a kochi family with a hint of Godfather's plot inspiration blended with it. This was well supported by performances of the lead cast. But the second half almost lost that charm, with a revenge plot line with the entry of hit or miss villain's character, followed by an abrupt climax which didn't meet the platform raised by the much stronger first half. The only gripping factor in the second half was the energy given by Mammootty's amazing screen presence. His overall performance and screen presence was an incredible.

What a movie and great performance of overall. Well casted characters and a fulfilled mammotty film after a long time. Story is a cliche and predictable but amal neerad makes story into different level. Dialogues and bgm's are lit. Great theatre experience.
  • Amal Neerad's latest offering is a good, entertaining watch. Lots of scenes inspired from the Godfather, but adapted and blended well to go with the story, time period and Kerala setting. The movie as a whole is a nice watch. Just felt that cos of the sheer number of characters, they didn't have time to fully develop them. Cos all of them looked quite interesting. Also, the revenge section of the movie was quite underwhelming. Especially killing the main villain and the ending was really meh. For instance, Big B had a better ending scene. So yea, good watch, but expected a bit more oomph.
  • Nothing to watch there in this movie. Bgm and direction saved the movie to become a super hit, else it would have been a disaster. Mammooka did his best in this age, but doesn't bring the movie to a watchable category. Shine tom, as usual did his best for the character. Felt of soubin should be replaced with someone who can do mass actions, mass scenes and build up seemed like a blunder with him.

  • It is an Attaru film and it can be said without any doubt that the audience got a very good film from Amal Neerad. Amal Neerad has clear statistics on how to present an actor like Mammootty on screen and how much the audience wants to draw from it.❤🔥🔥❤... Waiting for BILAL🔥...
