- As Sarah stares at her dead original body, Bishop recovers and explains that he made a "new" Sarah, and she's just the beginning.
Ava is in her cabin on Waverider, watching Bowie's video of the time they celebrated in London, and Sarah told the camera that she was going to propose to Ava. Nate comes in with food, but Ava doesn't see the point in eating. He tells her that they're all they're for her, and that the others are grieving in their own way. He joins them in the Waverider mess hall where they're drinking, and John figures that Mick is still alive. They agree to give Ava space.
On the planet, Mick and Kayla finish having sex. Mick says that it was great, and asks her if she wants to again. Kayla wonders why Bishop put the barrier up, and they go out to check the consoles. Mick wonders if she's going to stay, and she figures it's because of the sex. Mick looks hurt, and Kayla notices and tells Mick that she'll stay until the third moon sets.
Soldiers come in and kill Bishop, and his new clone awakens. It comes out of his pod and dresses, and tells Sara that he learned about Sara from Mick's romance novels, and needs her mental resilience to merge human and alien DNA. He shows Sara a video of the Sara/alien hybrids they've put together, and explains that he's going to use an army of her clones to take over the galaxy. She gets her engagement ring from her dead body, and Sara says that she isn't going to help Bishop and he should give her the ring. The soldiers grab Sara, and Bishop tells them to incinerate her and he'll keep tinkering until he gets a more cooperative one.
Mick goes out and finds a squad of army clones. Gary is with them, and calls the others off.
Nate and Zari go to find Behrad, and Gideon tells them that Behrad isn't on Waverider. They find a whiteboard where Behrad has been working out his plan, and a notation mentioning 'Back to the Future'. Nate calls the others and they travel to London 1977. They see their 1977 selves, find Behrad, and tell him that they're there to help him keep Sara from being abducted.
The group go to the club across from the club they went to in 1977, The Hole, and Nate suggests that they get Sara back to Waverider before she's abducted. Nate says that they have to Sara without contacting their past selves, but figures they can pull it off. Spooner is thrilled that she'll never encounter them, and Behrad remembers that his 1977 self went up the rooftop to smoke, so his past self won't be there for him to interact with.
Behrad goes out and runs into the 1977 Sara, who refuses to go with Waverider with him and says that she's going to propose to Ava and shows Behrad the ring. 1977 Ava comes out, and she and Sara go inside. Behrad says that he's going to smoke and will meet them inside.
On the planet, Sara knocks out the two soldiers taking her to the incinerator. Gary, Mick, and the Avas arrive and tell Sara that the soldiers are with them helping Sara to escape. The Nurse Ava says that they should take down all of Bishop's backup clone generators, and volunteers to help. Sara thanks Mick for coming to rescue her, and he says that the ship sucked without her.
The present Legends reunite at the second club ship and discuss how to get the 1977 Sara on Waverider. They were all with Sara the rest of the night, and Zari admits that she and John had left for 20 minute when they were absent. John and Zari go into the Hole and fine Ava, and ask her where Sara is. Ava says that she's in the bathroom, and they find her there throwing up there. They figure she's nervous about proposing, and John convinces her to propose to Ava and go back to Waverider to do it. Sara insists that she'll do her way in her time.
Once Sara leaves, Zari figures John has lost his magic. John readmits that resetting the timeline is the best way to get his magic back, and Zari makes him promise that there's no more lies. Ava sees the present versions leave, and the 1977 John and Zari come out of a closet.
Ava follows them and confronts them, and figures they're not her Legends. She wonders if her present version is dead, and tells them that whatever they're doing is a bad idea. Ava insists that they can't change the plan, and starts drinking so she'll forget they're there and tells them go back to their own timeline. After Ava leaves, Spooner comes back and figures that they're upset about something other than the fact they're going to lose her when the timeline resets.
Sara and Nurse Ava go to the last generator, and Sara breaks it open but cuts her palm. It heals, and Sara realizes that Bishop gave her accelerated regeneration. She attaches an explosive charge to the generator and goes to get answers about her new condition from Bishop.
At the base, Sara punches Bishop and demands to know what he's done to her. Bishop realizes that the Avas have betrayed him, and runs a display showing an alien whose DNA that he merged Sara with. Sara punches Bishop again, and she says that she's not going to kill him. Sara demands that Bishop tell her how to become human again, and Bishop says that she's a new and improved Sara, and humanity has no future without them.
Sara refuses, and says that she'll make a clean clone of herself, blow up the generators, and leave the planet. Bishop tells her that if she blows the generators, the Zagurons will overrun the planet. Sara takes her engagement ring back and leaves.
At the second club, Nate says that they have to figure out a way to Sara back and make sure everything else doesn't change. Behrad suggests that they use an exploding mannequin from the window display.
Sara finds Nurse Ava, and asks her to make a clean version of herself. Nurse Ava worries that she can't do it, but Sara assures her that she can handle it. As Nurse Ava goes to work, Gary and Mick call her to say that the generators are ready to blow. She tells them that she'll meet them at the ship, and hangs up.
Behrad rigs an exploding mannequin with a blonde wig, and others point out that Behrad's plan will require exact time. Behrad sets the bomb to go off just before the alien pods are released into the time location. He calls Spooner on the comms, who is at the Hole and watching the 1977 Legends to tell him that they're on the move. Sara joins Spooner at the bar and they have a drink.
Spooner tells 1977 Sara that 20 years ago she was abducted by aliens, and worries that something is inside her that she can't control. Sara says that she's intrigued, and Spooner figures that she's cool. She tells Spooner not to go out alone on her new journey, and Spooner wonders if she can't live up to her friends' expectations. Sara worries that the current version of her might just be a phrase, and she can't promise Ava that she'll be with her. Spooner tells Sara that she figures Ava can handle change.
The audience cheers the Smell, and Sara figures that Ava is perfect the way she is. She goes to get a cup of coffee to sober up before she proposes. Sara leaves and finds Bowie, who is recording the entire thing and says that she's going to propose to Ava.
In the other club, Nate goes to the restroom because of all the curry he has been eating. Nate from the future comes in, wearing John's coat and an eyepatch, and explains that because of their plan, the bomb drops the aliens into Wall Street. He has to go undercover posing as John to infiltrate a magic cult, because John is poisoned by aliens. Future Nate points out that Behrad's plan is stupid, and tells him that Sara is gone no matter what he does.
Spooner calls the Legends and says that Sara is heading to the parking lot. Behrad runs out, yelling that he's not going to let Sara die, and the future Nate disappears just as the present Nate comes back.
The 1977 Legends head out of The Hole, and Behrad arrives and tries to warn Sara. She gets abducted, and on the planet, Sara remembers what happened and realizes that the Legends are trying to save her and putting the timeline at risk. Nurse Ava says that they're almost done and asks what Sara is going to do once the clean clone is finished. Sara says that she'll stay there, and Nurse Ava tells her that it will take ten minutes to finish the clean clone.
Mick finds Bishop, who has grabbed one of the Soldier Ava, and Bishop goes for his gun. After Mick shoots Bishop with his heat gun, the "real" Bishop speaks from the computer and Soldier Ava tells Mick that he's ruined everything. She says that Bishop isn't really dead, and Sara and Nurse Ava hear Bishop in the clone lab. Sara tells Bishop that he won't have time to reprint before she blows the base up, and Bishop begins uploading his consciousness into the clean Sara clone. Once the upload is complete, Bishop will be able to reprint himself from anywhere in the universe. Nurse Ava tells Sara that the only way to stop Bishop is to blow up the generators, and Bishop will complete the upload in three minutes.
Bishop asks Sara lab and tells her to make a choice, saving herself and him in the process, or sacrificing herself to kill him. Mick comes in and wonders what's going on, and Sara says that she's a monster and Mick needs to make sure and take the "clean" Sara home. Mick tells Nurse Ava to blow the "clean" alien, and Sara worries that she might hurt the others. She insists that she's damaged, and Mick tells her that he sees his oldest friend, and the Legends need her. Mick asks her to come with him, and Sara smiles and says that they should leave. She tells Gary over the comms to blow the place, and the base blows up and the clean clone is destroyed as the base is destroyed.
The teams join up and head to the ship, and Nurse Ava says that she won't leave her home and she'll be okay. The Zagurons start to break through, and at the ship, Kayla calls to Mick as the third moon sets. As Sara, Gary, and Mick head to the ship, Mick insists that Kayla wouldn't leave without him. They arrive and find the ship gone, and Zagurons attack them. Sara, Mick, and Gary run and the Zagurons chase after them. Kayla flies the ship overhead, opens fire on the Zagurons, and lands ahead of them. Mick figures that Kayla wouldn't leave without her, and the trio run to the ship. board.
Kayla comes out and says that she had to lift off to prevent the Zagurons from damaging her ship. Zagurons jumps Mick and Sara, and Mick loses his heat gun. Kayla transforms to her alien self and fights the other arriving Zagurons, and freeing Mick. More Zagurons ride up, and Gary kicks the heat gun to Mick who shoots the alien on Sara.
Mick discovers that Kayla is gone and refuses to leave without her. Sara and Gary go into the ship, and Mick goes with them. The Zagurons start to break in, and Mick tells Sara to liftoff. Gary takes the ship up.
On 1977 Earth, Behrad starts up into space where Sara was taken. His teammates arrive, and Behrad says that it's his fault and he got Sara abducted by distracting her. Astra tells Behrad that the aliens would have gotten Sara elsewhere, then says that it's his fault and admits that where she grew up, she didn't learn comforting very well. Astra tells Behrad that he had to try or would have spent the rest of his life wondering if he could, and she knows from experience. Behrad asks Astra if she still misses her mother, and Astra tells him that she does every day. However, losing her brought her to the Legends and that isn't all bad.
John, Zari, Spooner, and Nate changed them, and they realize Behrad's plan didn't work since Spooner is still there. They go back to get a drink.
Ava is watching the video of Sara and drinking, and discovers the video file has been corrupted. Sara comes in and says that it's really her, and she strokes her lover's face. They kiss, and Sara tells Ava that she's not going anywhere.
Out in the hallway, Mick drags Gary away when Gary wants to go in and tell Ava that he's also alive.
Sara tells Ava that she knows where the Legends are.
At the club, the Legends share a toast to Sara. Sara comes in with Ava, Mick, and Gary, and everyone hugs Sara. John and Nate congratulate Mick, and Sara explains that Gary didn't kidnap her but saved her. Behrad jokingly says that he's the one who saved Sara, and Sara just as jokingly agrees with him. They all decide to go home.
Out in the street, John tells Zari that it doesn't matter if he got his magic back because he has her. However, they both figure that John will keep trying. Sara notices that John and Zari together, and tells Ava that he's jealous that nothing has changed and everything has changed. Ava refuses to leave Sara behind, and Sara drops to one knee and reads her written proposal to Ava. When Ava says yes, Sara gives her the engagement ring. The others cheer, and the bomb in the mannequin, that they put in a dumpster goes off in a burst of fireworks as Sara and Ava kiss.
