"A bouquet of happiness" is a 90 minute movie from 6 years ago dealing with a modern form of the famous David-Goliath-metaphor. The movie title is a (bad) play on words as the German term for bouquet is the same as the German term for ostrich and the woman in this film has a couple ostriches. The film's writer and director are both fairly experienced in terms of movie-making, but sadly this does not prevent them from making more bad movies. Actually their body of work only includes rubbish like "Der letzte Bulle". The film's cast including the lead actress is absolutely unknown even to people from Germany who watch lots of films like myself. Also, nobody in here is particularly talented and the lead actress always came off as a bit unlikeable, which really hurt the film as we were supposed to cheer for her. The supporting cast was certainly better than her for most of the film.
The worst of this film was probably the television interview scene. I won't go much into detail, but it was a huge mess. Only one example: the other two guests were not introduced by name, but our protagonist was. And then the antagonist calls in live during the show. What a disaster. Equally worse was the whole romance plot with the woman allegedly not being sure who her guy is despite the audience knowing from minute one. When they talk about the other one, the journalist guy and the camera goes to his oh so true love and we see his unhappy face expression, this is one of the worst ways filmmaking could be. And his love confession at the end was easily one of the most negative things I have seen in recent years. Talk about disastrous line delivery. Or when we get to see the emotional side of the antagonist for once when he starts crying, only to be seconds later the same ruthless person he always was. Or when they finally realize at the end of the movie that leopards are a protected species after it was mentioned at the beginning already that the evil guy trades their furs. Basically, this movie is extremely illogical, has very very few quality factors and is never a success in terms of drama or comedy. the little ostriches were cute. But that's it. Not recommended.
