Adult performer Jesse Jane, the porn actor who famously starred in the XXX movie franchise Pirates — the most expensive adult film of all time — was found dead on Wednesday of an apparent overdose. She was 43 years old.
According to TMZ, authorities responded to a call for a welfare check at a residence in Moore, Oklahoma, Jane’s hometown. She was found dead along with her boyfriend, Brett Hasenmuller, a St. Louis, Missouri native, whose employer called in the welfare check, according to a spokesperson for the Moore Police Department.

Hulu’s list of new releases for June 2021 is highlighted by a host of useful library titles and one fascinating original film.
The original film in question is the one that lends its delightful photo of Pierce Brosnan delivering a baby to this post. False Positive stars and was written by Ilana Glazer (Broad City). It sounds like a really fun, creepy time with a synopsis that reads: “After months of trying and failing to get pregnant, Lucy (Glazer) and Adrian (Justin Theroux) finally find their dream fertility doctor in the illustrious Dr. Hindle (Pierce Brosnan). But after becoming pregnant with a healthy baby girl, Lucy begins to notice something sinister through Hindle’s gleaming charm, and she sets out to uncover the unsettling truth about him, and her own “birth story.” Cool!
Hulu’s other original offerings aren’t too inspiring this month. Only Love, Victor season 2 on June 11 moves the needle much.

You’ve gotta love the British – despite all their talk about “stiff upper lips,” they sure do love their hyperbole. The latest comes from the country’s film critics, who’ve taken to asking if Ray Cooney’s silly romantic comedy Run for Your Wife is the worst film ever. While we certainly agree it looks pretty lousy (the jokes are obvious and the plot isn’t particularly inspired…), there’s no way this film is as awful as an Un-MST3K’d version of Manos: The Hands of Fate or even Plan 9 from Outer Space. Heck, we suspect Bucky Larson: Born to Be a Star was worse than this adaptation of Cooney’s popular stage play, but that hasn’t stopped Brit critics from teeing off on this piffle. The film earned numerous...

Chicago – Perhaps it’s that I had heard So many negative things about Adam Sandler’s comedy bomb “That’s My Boy” that by the time I finally got around to watching the Blu-ray I didn’t find it to be that awful. It’s certainly better than his trifecta of crap in 2012 - “Just Go With It,” “Bucky Larson: Born to Be a Star” (which Sandler produced), and “Jack and Jill.” Although lower standards doesn’t forgive the fact that this flick has definite problems. Just not as many as you may have heard.
Rating: 2.5/5.0
Sandler and Samberg have reasonable comic chemistry, a good timing together, and the movie moves at a strong pace for its first hour. It’s in the second one when things start to go really awry, as Vanilla Ice and Rex Ryan get way too much screen time and we’re subjected to things...

Bloody hell, I knew it was a mistake to watch a film starring Mark Hamill neither playing Luke Skywalker nor voicing The Joker.
I’m always one to give Video On Demand (VOD) films their fair shot, as sometimes it’s just a matter of lesser known foreign films or surprise independent hits getting proper distribution, but then again there are some films that are just so bad they don’t deserve a theatrical release in the slightest.
Airborne is one of those films, being a rancid airplane thriller which flaunts itself as a brutal horror watch. Unless just the sight of flying sends you into a tizzy, Dominic Burns’ empty thriller will leave you scrambling for a parachute and a quick access escape, jumping to safety while avoiding the entire monotonous flight. Even if there isn’t a parachute, jumping still is probably the better option, sadly.

It’s a truth universally acknowledged that a film of the lowest common denominator adds nothing to the institution of cinema. But as profiteers like Adam Sandler have already understood, when money speaks, truth is silenced, and nothing has been more vociferously profitable for him than his lowest common denominator filmmaking.
Under his very own moviemaking company, Happy Madison Productions, Sandler has been churning out the most banal drivel since its inception in 1999 (which was widely regarded by some to be a precursor to Y2K). His movies have subjected the world to his penchant for unadulterated nonsense and, in the vain of Sandleresque humour, a whole lot of poppycock.

Critics are great. Without them, there would be no general consensus on the merit of a film. Who knows how many people would have seen Bucky Larson: Born To Be A Star if it weren’t for the onslaught of negative reviews (probably none, but you get my point)?
However, every now and then I have to disagree with the powers-that-be at the major publications and even some What Culture critics! It is rare, but once in a blue moon a movie comes along that’s just taking a beating that I feel it doesn’t deserve. Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter is that kind of movie.
First of all, Lincoln is pretty well structured. That may seem like a simple thing to ask from a movie, but more often than not big blockbusters skip this simple step in favor for more explosions and boobs. I mean can anyone seriously say...

First, the good news: I laughed twice at "That's My Boy," which is two more times than I did while watching Sandler's 2011 efforts "Just Go With It," "Bucky Larson: Born to Be a Star" and "Jack and Jill." Combined. One of those laughs involves a bacchanalian bachelor party featuring Vanilla Ice (as himself) and the other comes from an eleventh-hour cameo by an Oscar-winning actress (whose third-act reveal won't be too much of a surprise to anyone paying attention to the rest of the film's casting). Too bad that, like most...

The Razzies has been giving out awards for the worst Hollywood has to offer since 1980. During last night's ceremonies in Santa Monica, Adam Sandler and his "Jack and Jill" movie won in all ten categories. Sandler took home the prize for Worst Actor and Worst Actress for his portrayal of both Jack and Jill. Worst Supporting Actor was Al Pacino and Worst Supporting Actress was David Spade. And the Worst Picture honor obviously went to "Jack and Jill" as well. There were plenty of terrible movies in 2011, which is why I find it odd that "Jack and Jill" won in every category. Sounds like the Razzie people are attempting comedy themselves. Check out the full list of winners (in red) and nominees below. Worst Picture: * Jack and Jill * Bucky Larson: Born to be a Star * New Year's Eve * Transformers: Dark of the Moon * Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1 Worst...

Not that it will stop Adam Sandler from continuing to make increasingly shitacular movies, but it is kind of nice to finally see his cinematic abominations get recognized for the truly awful pieces of filmmaking they are.
Yesterday, appropriately on April Fool's Day, the Razzies handed out their statues for the best of the worst, and "Jack And Jill" swept the ceremony winning an award in every category. It was the first time in the history of Razzies that the feat was accomplished. So, congratulations Sandler, Dennis Dugan (who also won for "directing" "Just Go With It"), Al Pacino, Katie Holmes and everyone else -- you are now a part of a movie that will forever go down as one of the worst in movie history....until "Grown Ups 2."
Anyway, take a look below at the categories and see the hall of shame in all its glory. [24 Frames]

A round of applause is deserved for Adam Sandler and Dennis Dugan. After breaking the Razzie nomination record, they have now set another milestone with their Jack & Jill winning every single category, a feat that hasn’t been accomplished its 32-year history. The ceremonies occurred last night and one can see the winners below, in which Sandler received both worst actor and actress, an accomplishment I don’t see repeating any time soon. Well, until the inevitable Jack & Jill 2.

"Jack & Jill," starring Adam Sandler as both Jack And Jill, sets a new record by becoming the first film in the 32-year history of the Razzies to win every single category. The Razzies, of course, is the anti-Oscars meant to "honor" the worst movies of the year.

Adam Sandler can ditch the high heels. His movie Jack and Jill, in which he played the twin siblings in the leading roles, turned out to be a bigger drag than anyone expected. On Sunday night, the critical dud "won" 10 of the 12 Razzies for which it was nominated - a new Razzies record - being "dis-honored" in the categories of worst picture, actor and actress, supporting actress (David Spade as "Monica"), supporting actor (Al Pacino as himself), screen ensemble, director (Dennis Dugan), remake/rip-off (of Ed Wood's notorious Glen or Glenda), screen couple (Sandler and Katie Holmes and/or...

The latest name to sign on to ShadowMachine's R-rated stop-motion comedy Hell & Back is none other than alt comedy icon Bob Odenkirk. From the studio that spawned the wacky, nostalgia-packed Adult Swim sketch show Robot Chicken comes a dark comedy that stars Nick Swardson (Bucky Larson: Born to Be a Star) and T.J. Miller (How to Train Your Dragon) as Remy and Augie, a pair of best buds forced to traverse hell itself after a mutual friend is mistakenly claimed by Satan. While Rob Riggle has committed to play their damned buddy and Mila Kunis is slated to lend her voice to a rogue demon, Deadline reveals Odenkirk will be playing the devil himself. Notably, rather than being a hard-ass as he was on How I Met Your Mother or a snake oil salesman as he is on Breaking Bad, Odenkirk's devil is a bit beleaguered by the job ...

Talk about unpredictable. Stephen Dorff, who began acting as child after an agent saw him in a school play, has shown his versatility as actor over the last few years. Best known for his work in thrillers, and particularly as evil vampire Deacon Frost in “Blade” opposite Wesley Snipes, he showed his sincere, dramatic side in Sofia Coppola’s “Somewhere,” played raunchy comedy in Nick Swardson’s “Bucky Larson: Born to Be a Star,” and slung a sword as a Greek slave in epic “Immortals.” Now, he’s back to thrillers with “Brake,” but with the added challenge of practically performing a one-man show for the duration of the film. In “Brake,” a Secret Service agent is locked in the trunk of a car with no idea how he got there or why he’s there. Although the screenwriter, Timothy Mannion, was only 19, his idea for having one actor in one space inspired.

If the Wayans brothers had a stranglehold on bad comedy in the 00s, then it looks like Adam Sandler and the guys at Happy Madison intend to pry their grip and replace it with their own for 2011 onward. They’ve been churning out garbage at a prodigious speed since kicking it off with Just Go With It, Zookeeper, Bucky Larson: Born to Be a Star, and now Jack and Jill, which sees Adam Sandler pulling an Eddie Murphy as both of the titular brother and sister duo. It may not be as completely devoid of comedy as Bucky Larson or Zookeeper, but it’s still downright awful. Apart from an absolutely degrading performance by Al Pacino, nothing sets Jack and Jill apart from all the other comedies that rely on a single gimmick to force its way through a feature-length runtime.

Anyone with even a scintilla of taste certainly recognizes that Adam Sandler's movie career has been pretty dismal as of late, with the comedian's arguable big-screen nadir coming with last year's critically-panned "Jack and Jill" (and yes, the movie still made over $140 million worldwide). Looked at from that perspective, his latest comedy, the forthcoming "That's My Boy", actually feels like a (very slight) step in the right direction - which of course isn't saying much but hey, we're talking about the guy who co-wrote and produced "Bucky Larson: Born to Be a Star" here, so be thankful for small favors,...

Chicago – Adam Sandler has become such a lazy filmmaker that he’s now just building films around his personal vacation schedule. He wanted to take an outdoors-y vacation with his friends and the result was “Grown Ups.” He wanted to go to Hawaii and the result was “Just Go With It.” He wanted to take a cruise and we have to sit through “Jack and Jill.” While my personal choice for the worst film of 2011 was “Just Go With It” (I literally had to leave the screening to take a break when Nick Swardson gave CPR to a sheep), most people went with “Jack and Jill,” the film that features a cross-dressing Sandler as its primary punchline. “J&J” is bad. No doubt about it. I think even Sandler knows its bad. But it’s too dumb to be offensively bad. It’s just kind of there. You won’t laugh.

Us comic outdoes Eddie Murphy's 2007 record with 11 nods for awards recognising year's worst performances
A day after the Oscars claimed to highlight 2011's best movies, Adam Sandler has received a record-breaking 11 nominations for the annual Razzie awards, which aim to recognise the year's poorest performances in film.
Sandler's haul is more than double the previous individual record of five nods held by Eddie Murphy for his 2007 film Norbit, a fairly staggering indictment. Most of the nominations are for the Us comic's film Jack and Jill, in which he plays a successful advertising executive whose irritating twin sister arrives for Thanksgiving. Adam Sandler has dominated the nominations for the 2012 Razzies celebrating the worst films of last year says Reuters.
Sandler took eleven nominations for his acting, producing and writing work across three films - "Jack and Jill," ''Just Go with It" and "Bucky Larson: Born to Be a Star". 'Jill' in particular took the lion's share of those nominations, including worst actor and worst actress for Sandler's dual roles as a twin brother and sister.
"Bucky Larson" and "Jack and Jill" join "New Year's Eve," ''Transformers: Dark of the Moon" and "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1" being nominated for worst picture.

The 32nd annual Razzie Awards nominations have been announced celebrating 2011's worst achievements in film. Leading the pack with most nomination is Adam Sandler who earned a record breaking eleven nominations! These included his involvement with films such as Jack and Jill, Bucky Larson, and Just Go With It. I'm not really surprised by this, and I imagine it's not a surprise for him as well. So, change of plans for the the Razzies this year... they will be announcing the winners on April Fool's Day, instead of the day before the Oscars. Hilariously fitting, right? In order to continue riding the wave of Oscar press coverage, however, they decided to unveil their nominees over the weekend. I think you can probably guess most of the films that are nominated before you even read the list, but for the sake of convenience, here is a basic summary. The four most obvious targets this year are Transformers: Dark of the Moon, The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn, Part 1, Bucky Larson: Born to Be a Star and Jack & Jill, with a little bit of New Year's Eve, The Hangover: Part II and Martin Lawrence sprinkled throughout. I'm not sure how Arthur really deserves to be in here, but I digress. The big news is that Adam Sandler has...

"The Artist," the schmartist. Adam Sandler was the real winner this weekend. Or at least he is if you consider more than doubling the record number of Razzie nominations an individual has ever received in a single year to be an accomplishment.
The actor's three films in 2011 -- "Just Go With It," "Jack & Jill" and "Bucky Larson: Born to be a Star" (which he helped produce) -- earned Sandler a grand total of 11 Razzie nominations this year, including Worst Picture and Worst Actor. That's pretty impressive, considering there are only 10 categories to be nominated in.
Even more impressive is that "Jack & Jill," one of the most critically panned movies of the year, managed to score 12 nominations, also racking in more noms than there are categories. As the official Razzie website called it, it was a "Berry Bad Year for Adam Sandler."
But Sandler's films weren't the only ones to be vilified by the Razzies.

Out with the good (the Oscars)... in with the bad (the Razzies), celebrating, or is it shaming the worst of the year 2011, I give you the Razzie nominees announced this morning. Of note, as the title of this post states, Martin Lawrence picked up a nom for Worst Actress for his performance in Big Mommas: Like Father Like Son. I'm surprised Tyler Perry as Madea isn't nominated for Madeas Big Happy Family. Here's an astounding stat worth sharing... if Madea was actually played by a real woman (instead of a man in drag), whoever played her would be one of the most bankable black actresses in Hollywood right now, if not actually The most bankable. Funny right? Here are your 2012 Razzie nominees (winners will be announced on April 1): Worst Picture Bucky Larson: Born to Be a Star Jack & Jill New Year’s Eve Transformers: Dark of the Moon Twilight:...

The comedy, which itself has 12 nods, will duke it out with The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1, which has eight nominations. Sandler himself is up for both worst actor and worst actress, worst screenplay and worst ensemble for Jack and Jill. With his production company Happy Madison having released...

Standing as the complete antithesis of the likes of the Academy Awards in the annual award season, the Golden Raspberry Awards, also known as the Razzies, have announced the list of nominations for their 32nd ceremony, decreeing the worst in film in 2011.
I don’t especially love the sentiment of the Razzies myself, and think it’s pretty mean to single out films in this way, but I’m sure that none of the nominees pay much, if any, attention to them, given that the nominees are often films that have done pretty successfully commercially, if not critically.
This year, Adam Sandler has a record-breaking 11 nominations, topping Eddie Murphy’s 5 nominations with Norbit a few years back. And for the first time in the thirty-two years of Razzie history, the five nominees in the Worst Picture, Worst Director, Worst Screenplay, and Worst Screen Ensemble are all the same.

The nominations are in for the Golden Raspberry Awards 2012. And Adam Sandler leads the way, with eleven nominations…
The Golden Raspberry Awards, the Razzies, are usually given out the night before the Oscars. However, this year, things have changed, with the awards being given out this year on April 1st. That means that Oscar time has, instead, brought us the list of Razzie nominations.
Now, usually, the big accusation aimed at the Razzies, with some justification, is that it targets high profile failures, as opposed to genuinely abysmal failures. It’s an accusation that’s hard to shift, but having sat through more than a few of the movies on its list here, it’s hard to grumble too much.
Points of interest? Well, there appear to be four men up for actress awards, and it seems as if the categories have been reangled to give Adam Sandler as many...

Nominees for the 32nd Annual Razzie Awards were just announced, with Adam Sandler setting a new record for the most nominations ever accrued by an individual in one year. Um, congratulations? Thanks to his participation in Just Go With It, Jack & Jill and Bucky Larson: Born to be a Star (which he helped produce), Sandler scored 11 Razzie nominations including Worst Picture and Worst Actor. The grand total more than doubles Eddie Murphy.s previous record for most Razzie noms in a single year. (The comedian earned 5 in 2007, the year he released Norbit.) Sandler.s Jill .cleaned up. with 12 total Razzie nominations, including Worst Picture, Worst Supporting Actress (for Katie Holmes) and Worst Actress (which goes to Sandler in drag). Twilight Breaking Dawn nominated for worst movie at upcoming 2012 Razzie Awards. Oh no, Twi-Hards. Your favorite movie franchise has been nominated to the worst movie list this year, according to a new report from celebrity-gossip.net. They say it hit the list with a couple of other high profile movies, including Transformers 3: Dark Of The Moon, and a couple of awful comedy flicks that comedian Adam Sandler released. I totally agree with the Adam Sandler picks. I didn't even bother to see those. They just looked terrible in the movie trailers. The organization that's running this award show is the Razzie Awards. Their official name is the Golden Rasberry Awards and it'll be their 32nd Annual event. They honor the worst movies of the year, and also the worst actors, actresses, directors, and any other major title associated with the awful films they've picked. The winners will be announced on April 1st,...

With the best in film being awarded tonight (well, at least by a small section of old white men), it is looking to be a relatively predictable ceremony. On the other side of things, the Razzies are celebrating the absolute worst in cinema as their 2012 nominations have been revealed. Aside from the terrifying box-office, Adam Sandler is getting some well-deserved recognition.
After his involvement with Just Go With It, Jack and Jill and Bucky Larson: Born to Be a Star, he has racked up a record-setting 11 nominations. I certainly can’t argue with the rest of them (especially hatred for Trespass), but surprised to see no consideration for Zack Snyder‘s Sucker Punch. Check out all the nominations below.

Adam Sandler dominated the nominations for the 2012 Razzies announced Saturday. His performance in three films -- "Jack and Jill," ''Just Go with It" and "Bucky Larson: Born to Be a Star" -- enabled him to ring up a record 11 nominations for the awards, an annual Oscar spoof. That breaks the previous record of five held by Eddie Murphy for 2007's "Norbit." As a producer, Sandler was credited with worst-picture and worst prequel, remake, rip-off or sequel nominations for both "Bucky Larson" and "Jack and Jill." He also shared in worst-screenplay nominations as a writer on both movies, and a worst-ensemble nomination for "Jack and Jill." Sandler even managed worst actor and worst actress nominations for his dual performance in the as a family man and his twin sister in "Jack and Jill." "It's almost karmic for someone to have made that much razz-able stuff in one year," Razzies founder John Wilson told the Associated Press. "He has angered someone really powerful, I would say." "New Year's Eve," ''Transformers: Dark of the Moon" and "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn -- Part 1" were the other films nominated as worst picture.

Usually held one day before the Academy Awards, this year the Razzies are changing the game a bit, choosing instead to unveil their nominations this weekend, with the ceremony to take place on April 1st -- that's right, April Fools Day. So who earned the distinction in 2011 of the best at being the worst? Adam Sandler.
Breaking the previously record held by Eddie Murphy, Sandler earned 11 Razzie nominations in all for the Worst Achievements In Film in the past year ("Jack & Jill" earned a total of 12 nods). Starring in two movies -- "Just Go With It" and pulling double duty in "Jack & Jill" -- in addition to producing "Bucky Larson: Born to Be a Star," the Razzie folks had plenty to choose from in what was a banner year for Sandler mediocrity. "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn -- Part 1" and "Transformers: Dark of the Moon" brought up the rear with seven nominations each.

"Jack and Jill" may have gone up the hill to fetch a pail of water, but they've just come down the hill with a record setting 12 nominations from the 32nd Annual Razzie Awards.
Sorry, Adam Sandler. Looks like you just broke your crown.
The Razzies (short for The Golden Raspberry Awards) have been given out every year since 1980 to recognize the absolute worst movies and performances of the year. So just how bad do they think "Jack and Jill" is? Well, consider this: The comedy, which features Sandler playing his own ugly twin sister, managed to earn more nominations (12) than there are categories (ten). Now that's bad.
But that wasn't the only bad news for Sandler. Thanks to the fact that two other films he worked on, "Bucky Larson: Born to Be a Star" and "Just Go with It," also piled up nominations, Sandler himself ended up with a whopping...

Just in time for the 84th Academy Awards ceremony, nominees have been announced for the 32nd Annual Razzie Awards. “Winners” of the awards (meant to (dis-) honor the “Worst Achievements in Film” during 2011) will be accordingly announced this year on (when else?) April Fools’ Day.

Los Angeles - Adam Sandler won't win an Oscar this year, but at least he can console himself with a record 11 Razzie nominations recognizing the year's worst Hollywood movies and performances.
