Every Christmas, a malevolent force seeks out an unruly family - it then burrows into their hearts and souls, echoing their most disquieting fears, lurking underneath the skin, corrupting the victims from within. They call it Mrs. Miracle (Doris Roberts)...because it is truly miraculous for anyone to come away unscathed. Will Seth Webster (James Van Der Beek), recently widowed dad of two, be able to withstand the temptations of this unstoppable evil? Or will he succumb to Mrs. Miracle and her agent of lust, Reba Maxwell (Erin Karpluk)?
Now that I’ve (hopefully) gotten your attention, allow me to dispel any expectations you may have had - my description is far from the truth. Mrs. Miracle, based on the Debbie Macomber novel of the same name, is calculated and sweetly poised to stop just short of giving you diabetes. This is Hallmark production and it will carry that burden...

Who says Miracles don't happen? For Doris Roberts, they can be a recurring thing.
The Emmy award-winning 'Everybody Loves Raymond' star is slated to reprise her titular role as Mrs. Miracle in 'Debbie Macomber's They Call Me Mrs. Miracle' this fall on the Hallmark Channel, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
In this sequel to last December's 'Debbie Macomber's Mrs. Miracle' (and once again based on the best-selling author's book, which will hit stores in September), Roberts again will play Emily Merkle, a.k.a. Doris Roberts is set to star in the Hallmark Channel original movie "Debbie Macomber's Call Me Mrs. Miracle," a sequel to last year's top-rated "Mrs. Miracle."
The Christmas-themed movie, based on Macomber's novel due to be released in September, is in production in Vancouver for a Nov. 27 premiere.
Roberts will reprise her role as Emily Merkle -- Mrs. Miracle as she is known by some -- who is back to ensure that this Christmas is the most magical and meaningful of all. When Mrs. Miracle appears as a seasonal employee in the toy department at the financially troubled Finley's Department Store, neither the store's owners, nor the customers, have any idea of the saintly events that are about to unfold.
Michael M. Scott is directing from a script by Nancey Silvers.
"Miracle," from Mrm Prods., is produced by Harvey Kahn.

"The O.C." and "Gossip Girl" were just the start.
Producers Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage will launch their production company Fake Empire, which will fold in Schwartz's College Hill Prods., at Warner Bros. TV, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The collaborators originally met on "The O.C."
"Stephanie started out as kinda my boss on 'The O.C.,' crossing her arms while making me write and timing my naps," Schwartz says. "Then I got to be kinda her boss on 'Gossip Girl,' watching her develop from a great producer to a terrific writer. We managed to work together for seven years in different roles in each other's careers and, despite all the pressures and the stress that come with the job, managed to remain creatively trusting and supportive of each other."
Although Fake Empire will focus on TV projects, the worlds of films, online content, music and publishing will also be pursued.

Okay, I'll say it upfront, I'm not a big fan Christmas movies, so the thought of sitting through Debbie Macomber's Mrs. Miracle wasn't exactly my idea of a perfect night in. The Hallmark Channel film, which premiere Saturday night, starred James Van Der Beek as a widowed father of twins desperately seeking nanny, while Doris Roberts played the geriatric version of Mary Poppins. (She didn't crinkle her nose or snap her fingers to make magic happen, the sound mix took care of that.) You could predict the formulaic plot line of this special ten minutes in. The 6-year-old boys...

Holy holly! Did you guys just see that? Santa whizzing by on a sleigh packed with Barbies and basketballs? A man and a woman falling into a snowbank and sharing an unexpected kiss? Formerly estranged family members getting all huggy-feely and crooning “We Wish You A Merry Christmas” as the credits roll? Oh, wait—I think I know what’s happening. I’m having another post-traumatic hallucination, a result of a recent work assignment. For the fourth year in a row, I, loyal Entertainment Weekly servant, have taken on the ridiculous challenge of watching all of the networks’ original holiday TV-movies.
