| It's not Alien!
As a self-confessed Alien fan boy I've found it difficult to put down some unbiased thoughts around Prometheus. After the first viewing I was disappointed, I was expecting a direct Alien prequel and this isn't it. The film was better second time as I could leave all my preconceived ideas behind and enjoy it for what it is. There are some good performances (particularly Michael Fassbender), some great set-pieces and for the thinkers it proposes some answers to the big questions: who are we and where did we come from. That's not to say the film is without its flaws, it has plot holes (what doesn't?), can be clumsy in its delivery and at points to fast paced. However, it's enjoyable - which is all you can really ask for and from me is praise indeed!

Trivia

Ridley Scott approached SOAS, University of London, in 2011 to find experts who could help create a new language for the film. Anil Biltoo from SOAS' Language Centre worked to create the language, as well as the alien script, which can be seen throughout. Anil Biltoo can be seen briefly in a scene with Michael Fassbender. Other SOAS staff members appear briefly and are credited, including Wambui Kunya, Sonam Dugdak, Shin-Ichiro Okajima, Kay Rienjang, Zed Sevcikova, and Reynir Thor Eggertsson.

Quotes

Elizabeth Shaw: Get Charlie.

Goofs

When David is talking with Charlie in the bar/lounge, David has the drop of black liquid on his right index finger intending to place it in Charlie's drink. But during the lead time, his finger touches other objects such as the glass, bottle and the metal billiard ball. However, it is plain to see that David always keeps his right index finger extended throughout the scene and the tip of it (where the black liquid drop is) does not come into contact with the billiard ball, glass or the bottle. The first contact the tip of his finger makes is Charlie's drink.

Crazy Credits

There is a statement at the end of the closing credits: "Previous Footage Property of Weyland Corp. Building Better Worlds Since 10.11.12. weylandindustries.com/timeline"

Alternate Versions

The film's 70mm and Digital IMAX 3D release was presented open-matte, at an aspect ratio of 1.90:1, meaning more information was in the frame for the entire film.
