The level name S.S.D.D may be a reference to Stephen King's novel, 'Dreamcatcher'. S.S.D.D ("Same Shit, Different Day") is a phrase used through out the book by the main characters. Also, Shepherd's first line in the cut scene, "The more things change, the more... ...

At the end of the level "Wolverines". If you can protect the Turret gun from the roof of Nate's restaurant from getting destroyed and carry it to the convoy when they arrive to pick you up, you can get into the vehicle with the turret and it will pass thru solid steel. If you turn forward you can even make it float through the passenger in the front seat.
The ending credits play over a pan through an apparent museum showing dioramas of the soldiers on the various missions played in the game, with many museum visitors observing and debating the various displays.
