  • Warning: Spoilers
The script of this TV series is not original, we have already seen it adopted in many films, but this does not imply that the product could not still be good and enjoyable. Too bad, unfortunately, this is not the case. The plot can be disassembled within 5 seconds, any scientific relief, even superficial, of the car accident of 2000, where it all began, would have immediately revealed the presence of at least 2, if not more people present in the passenger compartment (traces from bloody wounds, position of the same wounds, traces of footprints on the body of the deceased boy, as can be clearly seen in some frames in which the boy, removed from his position, is repeatedly touched and even caressed on his face covered in blood) , which would have immediately closed the first circle, i.e. The first definitive conclusion that only the deceased boy was in the car. The rest of the series leaves a lot to be desired, I don't like how it's acted, and it's far too full of huge plot holes, beyond those already mentioned. Not enough to make it a fully watchable product.
  • A dreadful mess that does not know what it wants to be, the plot has no structure, the video cam footage is pretentious, hackneyed and unwatchable, the music is massively intrusive.

Dull and uninteresting characters doing dull and uninteresting things for dull and uninteresting reasons.
  • Well, it seems like i've watched this series a million times, because it's just like any mediocre series on netflix, but on apple tv, please apple don't buy more series from netflix, your content is way superior to this awful series.
  • It seems like a lot reviewers jumped the gun and gave negative reviews on the first episode or first few episodes. It took a few episodes to find its groove and what may have seemed like a cliche plot idea at the start, reveals itself to be much more complex and intriguing. The characters are also a lot more complex than they may first appear to be. I really hope there will be a season 2.
  • They should show this in film schools as an example on how not to make a show.

Arrogant creators having no idea that a show needs an audience to justify its existence.
  • I'm not really sure the expectations people have going in to some of these series, but i personally quite enjoyed this show and highly anticipate a season 2. The story was good, suspenseful, and a captivating plot with very good actors / actresses. The younger vs older characters were believable and i LOVED that they all spoke English as well. I watch a lot of Spanish series ( just finished Who Killed Sarah as well) and always wonder if they can speak English as well. So hearing all these actors speak their native language and switch to English as well was great for me. The show ends w a definite set up for a season 2 so i hope it is renewed. To some of the harsh critic authors out there , lower your expectations a tad, it's a drama series meant for entertainment. To me, it did just that. I binged in a few days.

Reminds me of the I Know What You Did Last Summer film series. But with more thrillers and subplots. The 8 one-hour episodes are way too long. That softens the experience.
  • The actual title for this bilingual (not) mess. Had to turn it off after three minutes of too much nonsense. What was Apple thinking? How much did they pay for this?

This is one of the worst shows I've tried to watch on Apple TV. I would expect better quality from a high school project. The dubbing of the voices and sounds make it unwatchable...well that and the terrible story telling. Avoid this one!
  • This show definitely grew on me the more I watched it. I thought the characters were very interesting, and Rosie Perez was great as the lead detective. I liked the music throughout, especially in the last episode of season 1. I hope they renew it.

Please don't listen to the haters on this one! I feel that those who rated this show poorly had their minds made up after one or two episodes. It definitely gets better as the story progresses. I usually won't watch shows or movies if I have to read subtitles, but this one was worth it (language spoken was both Spanish and English). A crime thriller/suspense with some surprises throughout, a major twist and a cliffhanger at the end has me super excited for another season! The acting was great with several familiar faces, including Rosie Perez.

Apple TV, please renew Now & Then for Season 2!! We want more😊
  • Quite a catchy recipe for this one and adequately executed. A group of friends, 20 years after a certain event are being blackmailed for what happened back then. It's the same recipe that Netflix used for creating the much inferior "two summers". The 4th episode of this apple TV series is amazing and the plot is quite intriguing throughout. The suspense is being kept with new elements in every episode and the pace is normal to fast which is good for a change. All these pretentious crap series that keep the pace slow on purpose and for now reason, drive us to extreme levels of boredom. Almost only the European productions have a true justification for the slow pace that we usually encounter in their series (e.g. They build characters, show emotions, raise the tension etc). American TV shows of nowadays think that by purposely keeping the pace slow, this automatic raises the quality standards. Thanks God this show is not that pretentious. Enjoy it for what it is: a suspenseful and commercial crime thriller which is interesting to watch whilst being neither super sophisticated nor of low quality.
  • I wasn't sure at first with it being bilingual but I quickly forgot about it as it drew me in.. its a drama I thought it rather clever and plenty twists and turns too which is why i binged the entire series in one sitting!

I'm not sure about anyone giving this a negative review if they haven't watched all of it.

Its not a highly intellectual piece of television, but what it is however, is a bit of escapism. Something a bit different and I would recommend this highly for that reason!

Take it for what it is folks and get over yourselves!!

What I want to know is... is there a second season?!?!
  • Interesting show that keeps a good pace. It's a crime show that keeps you wanting to know what happens next. Is it a masterpiece no.. Is it really enjoyable yes!! Great cast.
  • Just started watching this new show. It has a beautiful montage of South Florida. The story involves a group of youngins who make a decision that haunts them into adulthood culminating at their 20th reunion. I recognize about half of the characters from other shows including the indomitable Maribel Verdu. One of the male characters was a major figure in Narcos. It also stars Rosie Perez. Having recently obtained Apple+ (discount deal), I have been impressed with their shows.
  • This is an amazing series with a fantastic plot and and even better cast. Rosie Perez is perfectly cast is the lead detective. Don't let the low rated reviews deter you from watching this amazing series.
  • I like Rosie Perez and she shines in this movie. Once I got used to the time change from "the night" to the present day it became very easy to follow even though I had to read the subtitles.

I enjoyed it so much I binge watched it, often rewinding to catch details and verbiage I missed. Watching the teen "take on the world" ideal versus real adult life was very interesting capturing what happens to your dream life doesn't happen if everything doesn't fall into place.

Don't let the naysayers stop you from watching, form your own opinion. Get past the first few episodes, it takes a bit to get started, but watching the plot and then the added subplots play out is worth the wait.
