Taylor Lautner is known to many fans as the wolf boy Jacob Black from the Twilight Saga. It was a breakout role for Lautner into more mature films in Hollywood, despite the franchise garnering more critics than fans in later years. However, before his time as a werewolf, Lautner was Sharkboy in the superhero movie, The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl in 3-D.

Lautner was the first to be cast in the role in Robert Rodriguez’s children’s movie. The film received negative reviews upon release, with criticism targeted at the 3-D effects. However, many loved the film as kids and it went on to gain a cult following. But looking back, fans could see why critics weren’t happy with the film.

Adam Sandler's upcoming sequel to "Leo" is expected to be better than his last sequel, "Murder Mystery 2." "Leo" received positive reviews and had a successful debut, making a sequel highly likely. Sandler's recent films on Netflix have shown a positive turnaround in quality, including "Leo," indicating his improvement on the streaming platform.
Adam Sandler has produced and starred in many Netflix movies over the past few years, and a recently teased sequel will likely be better than his previous follow-up film. Sandler began working on original Netflix movies in 2015, and some of his titles included The Ridiculous 6, Sandy Wexler, and The Week Of. The actor and the streaming platform made their partnership official when Netflix and Sandler's production company, Happy Madison Productions, agreed on a four-movie deal reportedly worth $275 million in 2020. However, Sandler has made more than four films for Netflix since signing the contract.

The Team Edward vs. Team Jacob debate during Twilight caused tension between Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner. Lautner's career has struggled since Twilight, with inconsistent roles in TV shows and B movies. Pattinson, on the other hand, has had a successful career shift, becoming an indie film darling and landing the role of Bruce Wayne in The Batman.

Home Team is a true story but takes liberties with certain elements of the Bountygate scandal, causing controversy among viewers. Sean Payton actually coached his son's middle school football team during his suspension from the NFL. The movie features real Saints plays that were used by the Liberty Christian Warriors but simplified for 12-year-olds.
Those who watched the Netflix sports comedy have wondered, "Is Home Team a true story?" The answer is yes but with all true story films, the movie made certain changes to heighten the drama and improve the narrative flow. That said, some of the things that remain true about the movie may be surprising to some viewers. Home Team follows the events immediately after the 2012 season suspension of New Orleans Saints head coach Sean Payton (Kevin James). This was due to the scandal known as "Bountygate," in which Saints players allegedly received bounties to purposefully injure opposing players.

We all know that Adam Sandler likes working with people he knows. The movies he produces with his production company Happy Madison regularly feature Kevin Nealon, Rob Schneider, and other cast members from his Saturday Night Live days. Many of his movies also feature supporting turns from guys you only see in Happy Madison flicks, like Alan Covert and Peter Dante. And, of course, he loves to cast Jennifer Aniston and Drew Barrymore as his love interests.
So it’s no surprise that Sandler’s latest Netflix movie You Are So Not Invited To My Bat Mitzah sees him once again paired with Idina Menzel, who played his wife in Uncut Gems. Taylor Lautner and Andy Samberg share a hilarious father-son relationship in a TV show that is fairly obscure. Although Taylor Lautner rose to fame following his role as Jacob Black in the Twilight series, he has been acting since he was 9-years-old. Before his breakthrough role in Twilight movie series, he played Sharkboy in The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lava Girl, appeared in one episode of My Wife and Kids as Tyrone, and even voiced Ned in What's New, Scooby-Doo?
Following his tenure in the Twilight series, Taylor Lautner appeared in popular franchise movies like Grown Ups 2 and also indie feature films like Run The Tide and Tracers. He even portrayed Dr. Cassidy Cascade in Scream Queens, and in 2022, played the supporting role of Troy Lambert in Netflix's Home Team. Taylor Lautner landed his breakout role as Jacob Black in Twilight, but following the conclusion of the saga with Breaking Dawn: Part 2 in 2012 the actor seemingly disappeared from the public eye. Lautner found fame thanks to Twilight, but he had actually been working in Hollywood for several years prior. He starred in 2005's The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lava Girl and Cheaper by the Dozen 2 as well as making small appearances in television shows. With successful jobs under his belt, landing the role of a lifetime in Twilight, and a highly publicized romance with pop star Taylor Swift, it seemed like Lautner's career could only go up.
However, in the years since, Lautner has been unable to maintain his star power to the same extent as Twilight co-stars Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart. While Lautner's acting career certainly saw a dip after the frenzied success of Twilight, he by no...

Paul Cauthen canceled a pair of his concerts this weekend after the country singer was arrested on drug charges in South Carolina on Thursday morning.
On Friday, Cauthen abruptly canceled that night’s gig in Knoxville and Saturday’s show in Hurricane Mills, Tennessee “due to extenuating circumstances.” “Sorry folks. Some things have happened and we won’t be making these shows unfortunately,” Cauthen wrote. “We will go into further detail in time. God bless all of you. Be kind to one another.”

Los Angeles, May 20 (Ians) Actor Taylor Lautner found fame when he took on the role of Jacob in ‘Twilight’ film franchise and reflected that, while he was always “incredibly thankful” for the opportunities, he often found himself wishing that he could have some “normalcy” in his teenage years.
“Now, I only have fond memories. But I do think that also needed the space because – I was always incredibly thankful, and feel super blessed for what it brought me. But maybe there was a little bit of like resentment deep in there going like, ‘I wish I could have just experienced this part of normalcy,” he said on the ‘The Happy Hour’ radio show, reports aceshowbiz.com.
However, the ‘Home Team’ star did go on to acknowledge that he “wouldn’t change” his early success but needed to have the “growth” to be able to appreciate it.
He added: “Now, I wouldn’t change it.

“Hit it, quit it, live it, spit it….get nasty,” Paul Cauthen croons in his new song “Hometeam.” Like the tracks on his 2022 album Country Coming Down, the song leans hard into funk sounds and swaggering attitude.
In fact, it’s so over-the-top that it’s easy to wonder if Cauthen is trolling you. Listen to the affectation, bordering on the ridiculous, that he puts on the line, “With your hair blown out and your nails just did, uh!” Trolling or not, it’s a blast to hear.

For many teens coming of age in the late 2000s, the Twilight franchise was their most formative film experience. The five-part film saga made superstars out of performers like Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, and Taylor Lautner. The latter played Jacob Black, a shapeshifter who has an intense affection for Bella Swan. Lautner quickly became a sex symbol, and one of the most vibrant performers of the late 2000s. While Lautner might have seemed at ease in front of the cameras, in truth, he recently revealed was experiencing intense body dysmorphia.

Dave Chappelle won best comedy album at the 2023 Grammys for his most recent special The Closer, which received backlash over material focused on the transgender community.
The comedian took the honor Sunday over Louis C.K. (Sorry), Jim Gaffigan (Comedy Monster), Randy Rainbow (A Little Brains, A Little Talent) and Patton Oswalt (We All Scream). The award serves as Chappelle’s fourth Grammy and follows C.K.’s controversial win last year for Sincerely Louis Ck, his first comedy album since his sexual misconduct revelations.
Chappelle was not in attendance during the Grammys Premiere Ceremony, where the comedy album prize and many of the other Grammy awards this year were presented, so presenter Babyface accepted the award on his behalf.
After Chappelle and C.K. were nominated for the 2023 Grammys, Recording Academy CEO Harvey Mason jr. told The Hollywood Reporter in part, “We don’t control who the voters vote for.

"Are you team Edward or team Jacob?" If part of your middle school and high school years revolved around asking your friends this controversial question, you're probably familar with the film origins of Taylor Lautner, who split the "Twilight" fandom in two when he made his debut as teenage werewolf Jacob Black in 2008. In the nearly 14 years since the film first premiered, Lautner has remained a cultural icon for his performance as the shapeshifting teen. While longtime Twihards still reminisce about Jella fan fiction and Lautner's lengthy hair (it was a wig the whole time), the film franchise took a mental and emotional toll on the star that pushed him to step back from Hollywood.

When audiences get a comedy from Happy Madison Productions, Adam Sandler's production company, they know they're in for some off-the-wall characters, many of which have a lot of heart. That can lead to a mixed bag of likability among the main characters, which is certainly true with a movie like Home Team.

Ozark, whose fourth season just debuted its first batch of episodes on Netflix, recorded the fourth-highest weekly tally ever to repeat atop Nielsen’s weekly streaming rankings.
During the week of January 24 to 30, the crime thriller series collected almost 4.1 billion minutes of streaming across its 37 episodes. That tally trails only Tiger King, which erupted with debut weeks of 5.3 billion and 4.4 billion minutes in March 2020. Ozark, during that same early-Covid timeframe when overall streaming was exploding due to pandemic lockdowns, racked up 5.2 billion minutes.
Nielsen said about 60% of Ozark viewers were between the ages of 35 and 64, with the remaining 40% evenly split between 18-34 and 65 and older. The premiere of the second part of Ozark’s fourth season has been set for April 29.

VOD charts both verged and varied this week, as a record low 14 titles accounted for all 30 slots on the three top tens. Among those titles, however, a record high seven placed on three different VOD lists, though each of them — iTunes, Google Play, and Vudu — disagreed on which film was really #1.
“Dune” (Warner Bros./$5.99), “The Matrix Resurrections” (Warner Bros./$24.99), and “Ghostbusters: Afterlife” each shared the top spot among iTunes and Google Play (which rate by transactions) and Vudu (which calculates money spent to buy or rent). Both “Dune” and “The Matrix Resurrections” previously streamed on HBO Max day-and-date, per Warner Bros.’ deal, but this strong showing on the VOD charts points to an intriguing post-hbo Max future for both titles.

Netflix is ringing in the new year in atypical fashion. Throughout 2021, the streaming giant’s original offerings swelled while its library titles shrunk. With its list of new releases for January 2022, however, Netflix is expanding its non-original market quite a bit.
Jan. 1 sees the arrival of a truly stunning amount of impressive non-Netflix movies and TV shows. The big titles available on the first of the month include: 300, Interview with the Vampire, Paranormal Activity, Superman Returns, Terminator 2, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, and much more. Later on in the month, Netflix is also set to add Phantom Thread (Jan. 16) to its roster.

Though Netflix is lighter on original content in January 2022, there is still plenty of intriguing titles to check out.

“Today, we’re getting a little more granular on this rapidly elapsing, pandemic-shaped year for the cinema by looking at the movies within the movies: those unforgettable moments that served to either fortify the greatness of the films that contained them or offer a silver lining for the less-than-great ones they momentarily improved. These were the best scenes of the year, and they hailed from blockbusters and indies, musicals and action flicks, our absolute favorite films of the year, and a few that just made us laugh or wince or cheer for a couple of blissful minutes.”

"You in football country now!" Netflix has revealed the official trailer for Home Team, the next comedy produced by Sandler's Happy Madison for Netflix. So, uh, get ready for this... The story about New Orleans Saints head coach Sean Payton coaching his son's 6th grade football team, when Payton was suspended for the entire 2012 season as a result of his role in the Saints' Bountygate scandal. So this is pretty much the plot of The Mighty Ducks, but with a youth football team. And a real coach. The cast features Kevin James as Coach Payton, plus Taylor Lautner, Rob Schneider, Jackie Sandler, Gary Valentine, Tait Blum, Maxwell Simkins, Jacob Perez, Bryant Tardy, Manny Magnus, Liam Kyle, Christopher Farrar, Merek Mastrov, and Isaiah Mustafa. Yeah this looks as cheesy and bland as you're probably expecting. Here's the trailer (+ poster) for Charles Francis Kinnane & Daniel Kinnane's Home Team, from YouTube:...
