I don't care if you mark my review unhelpful. I liked it so it was good.
I hope the fat nerds have left by now, so that I can finally say I liked it without being marked unhelpful. Do you even know what that word means? Is there a part of my review that you didn't understand? If not, then let me let you know it's not a dislike button. It just means your reading comprehension isn't good. With that said, let's move on to the actual review.
As a kid, I never like Batman: The Animated Series. I was more of a Tom and Jerry and Mickey Mouse kid. I began liking Batman after I got into college, and after watching Batman: The Animated Series, I realised what an awesome childhood I missed. I had been wanting that to be recreated, since the show isn't available on any streaming service in India, and I have watched all the old Batman animated movies (Mask of the Phantasm >>>).
When this show came, I hopped on to it immediately. Sure, there are some things different, like Penguin is a woman and Gordon has been race swapped. But this is a fresh take on the franchise. You don't hate on The Boys for making Victor Neumann a woman or MCU for making Nick Fury black, then make an exception here too on that.
My favourite character from the show was Harvey Dent. He was pretty much the deutragonist of the show after Batman. I like how his transformation was shown. Every character had depth to them. The animation is off, like many other bad reviews have pointed out, but it's not irredeemable. Plenty is happening on screen. It's obvious the budget here wasn't as high as Batman: TAS, so that can be forgiven.
Overall I'd say I liked it, and my opinion is always correct when it comes to entertainment. Now that we all know it's a fresh take on Batman and nothing like TAS, you know what to expect while going in.
