The Dark Knight Strikes Again!
Look, I'll just come out right out of the gate and say it. Those who want to hyperfixate on the genders and races of certain characters will find fault where they want to. As someone who thoroughly despises the Acolyte, I can wholeheartedly say that the show never once felt overt in its representation. The characters simply are and their personalities and motivations are what counts.
Now that we got that out of the way, let me just say that Caped Crusader is good, spooky fun. Turn down the lights, chill your room and grab some popcorn because it's a roaring good time! The show does a great job of immersing in the time period and crafting compelling villains, which is admirable seeing that each episode is a little less than 30 minutes!
Hamish Linklater does a solid job as Bruce and the Bat. Conroy is of course of the King of the Cowl for sure but Linklater delivers a fresh, smoother voice to contrast Conroy's more expressive performance.
Overall, trust me when I say that Caped Crusader is a wonderful return to form for the DCAU!
