    Warning: Spoilers
You would think this might be a bit of desperate way to get pilot episodes of potential comedy sitcoms for commission noticed, but it is actually quite an interesting thing to do, and one or two of them you do hope become series. Comedy Showcase started on Channel 4 as a celebration for the 25th anniversary of the channel, but it became pretty popular that more episodes have followed since the first series. A wide range of acting talents have been a part of this comedy series, including stars Martin Freeman, Green Wing's Stephen Mangan, Duncan James, EastEnders' Nigel Harman, Gemma Atkinson, Kathy Burke, Kevin Bishop, Vanessa Feltz, Martin Trenaman, Scary Movie 2's David Cross, Fonejacker's Kayvan Novak, and many more. A good amount of writing talent have been a part of it too, including Tim Allsopp (The Friday Night Project), Stewart Williams (Balls of Steel, Alan Carr: Chatty Man), Arthur Mathews (Father Ted, Brass Eye), Lee Hupfield (Star Stories), and many more. Titles I enjoyed included Other People, Plus One (which became a series), Kevin Bishop (which became The Kevin Bishop Show), PhoneShop and The Increasingly Poor Decisions of Todd Margaret. Very good!
