The basis of a generation.
Simply put, this video, no- this movie, no-- this film is a masterpiece that had been the jumpstart of a new era for the internet and the change to the idea of humor itself.
Within the film, Mike and James show off the DVD menus of a 2002 Super Mario Bros. Super Show compilation of their "greatest movie moments" from the show. But Mike and James aren't making the film for the show, but rather the menus' within the DVD, which contains a feature Known as "DiC Easy Play", where within Dic's original character; Inspector Gadget helps to explain the menus' and how to navigate them. Some of Gadgets words within these explanations are repeatedly and strangely exaggerated, such as button, glow, back, menu, and your. Mike and James commentate these menus', soon able to find the hypocrisy of Gadgets help, with you needing to move your cursor (referred to as the glow) to the help button, saying that the creators of the disk believe that the audience is comprised of idiots.
They also realize that the subtitles menu only contains 1 subtitle language, despite Gadget saying that they could select A subtitle language and not just English.
Soon after navigating the other menus, Mike and James decide to play the trivia game to see the bonus feature for its completion. They begin the game, learning from Gadget that they will see 4 answers to a trivia question, and how they must move the glow to an answer to see if they are correct, if they don't, they will be given another chance, and the 2 begin the game. They start off picking the answer of Bunsun due to neither of them having any memory of that character, on the next question they answer with "a sandwich" which they do not know if they had gotten it right or wrong. They move on to the next question, which asks about who had helped the mario bros get to the lost mushroom, with them humoressly answering with "Indiana Joe". The next question asks who's plan turns Link into a toad, with the obvious answer being ganon. The next question confuses the 2 for a moment, asking "What's room number that the Mario Bros. Were put into in Koopulas Castle?" They are confused at first but soon realize the grammatical error within the question, saying the actual question should read "What's the room number that the Mario Bros. Were put into in Koopulas Castle?" they answer that the room is room #1, and the dvd switches to a screen with Gadget holding a shrug with his robotic hands, with a piece of text to his right saying "that was very close. Why don't you...TRY AGAIN" with them realizing the game would tell you the answer is wrong. They soon begin doing purposely poor impressions of inspector gadget, saying one liners, insults, and cusses using his voice. They begin to go on about moving the glow upon the intergluteal crease of Gadget, with them soon beginning to do an outro asking why Inspector Gadget is on the Dvd and why he believes the audience is idiots, and the film ends.
The main quality of the film comes with the humorous remarks brought by mike and James, with them saying insults and cusses in his voice, which they find greatly humorous. Another quality of the DVD they find strange is that in order to select gadget to learn to use the arrows to move the glow, you need to move the glow to the help button.
There really isn't a villain to the film, but gadget would eventually become the villain within the video's sequel, Minecraft with Gadget. Many aspects of This film had been reused for it's sequel, such as a poor inspector Gadget impression, making iconic characters cuss, and basic review.
This film is a masterful, abhorrently hilarious, disgustingly high quality, and there isn't any nostalgia critic, and I HATE NOSTALGIA CRITIC!!!!!!!!!
