The four vignettes of Volume 16 of this hit series run nearly four hours long, with very little happening to keep even a loyal Lesbian Cinema viewer awake for the duration. Editing is an important aspect of filmmaking, something the Girlfriends Films anonymous maestros have yet to learn.
Worst example here is the final segment, which runs a whopping 78 minutes long but could easily have been presented as a traditional porn sex scene of say 12 minutes total. We have the young pair Aubrey Belle and Nicole Ray all lovey-dovey, talking a bit and then snuggling and smooching and humping at a snail's pace that only the Andy Warhol of such minimalist epics as "Sleep" and "Empire" could love. IMDb had identified Nicole as "Nicole Moore", the leading actress of the label's early days, but this petite Ray doesn't resemble Euro-accented and zoftig Moore in the slightest. (Moore starred in Volume 15 of the series, not 16.)
There is no story at all in most of the vignettes,, making the DVD play like an all-sexer, though the softcore preambles do eat up a lot of running time. Puma Swede and her big fake tits are stunning in the opener, dominating a rather demure early appearance by Elexis Monroe (who over a decade later has blossomed into a full-blown Lesbian MILF), while two mature stars Autum Moon and Deauxma manage to have a romantic scene with Big D never stooping to her Squirting gimmick, for a change.
