An ordinary LEGO construction worker, thought to be the prophesied as "special", is recruited to join a quest to stop an evil tyrant from gluing the LEGO universe into eternal stasis.
Upon its release, this movie became the most commercially successful animated film made by Warner Brothers Pictures, besting Happy Feet (2006), as well as the most critically acclaimed animated film made by the studio since The Iron Giant (1999).

When Emmet goes to buy overpriced coffee, Larry the Barista says, "That's 37 bucks." In the background, there's a woman in a Fabuland T-shirt next to the window. When Emmet replies, "Awesome!" she has moved a (Lego) meter forward and someone is opposite her.
The ending sequence features credits printed on Dymo labels.
This movie is also released in 3D. One noticeable difference is the text of the "5 Hours Later" time card zooms slightly forward.
