A very beautiful debut feature movie of the Mexican director Guillermo Vejar, which premiered at the Sarajevo Film Festival in August 2024. A movie about love and hope, about the struggle of a single mother who will do everything to save her child. The story, the pictures, the music, the scenary are all very beautiful. The movie follows a mother who, together with her son, emarks on a journay through mountains to find a healer who will cure her child. The movie has so many layers of meaning, a lot of symbolism, and interesting stories that Emina tells to her son. It potrays very well the Mexican culture and mother's love for her son. In the movie there are many stories about cats, which tells about the director's love for these animals. The scenes in which Emina and Benjo are together are very touching. The movie is based on a true story - Guillermo's father had a cancer and looked for a healer. Characters in the movie have Bosnian names and there are references to certain places in Bosnia and Herzegovina - Guillermo started writing the script when he was living in Sarajevo. The green door are the doors through which we will all eventually pass.
