Wicked and Emilia Perez were named the best edited feature films of 2024 at the 75th Annual Ace Eddie Awards. Winners were announced on March 14, 2025 during a ceremony that was originally scheduled for January 18th. The devastating Los Angeles wildfires forced the delay, and the American Cinema Editors opted for a less formal ceremony that helped raise money for wildfire relief.

On the television side, awards season favorite Shogun, What We Do in the Shadows, and Frasier took home awards. Both What We Do in the Shadows and Frasier earned Ace Eddie Awards for their final seasons, while Shogun is set to return for a second season.

The American Cinema Editors (Ace) has announced its winners for the 2025 Ace Eddie Awards, which recognizes “outstanding editing in 14 categories of film, television and documentaries.”

Emilia Pérez and Wicked won in the feature film categories, while The Wild Robot and Will & Harper won best animated feature and documentary feature, respectively. What We Do in the Shadows, Shogun and Baby Reindeer won in the TV categories, among others.

The 75th annual ceremony celebrating the best editing of the year was originally set to take place on Jan. 18 before it was postponed due to the L.A. wildfires.

At the event, Wicked filmmaker Jon M. Chu received the Ace Golden Eddie Filmmaker of the Year Award; and film editors Maysie Hoy and Paul Hirsch received career achievement awards. Conclave, Dune: Part Two and Emilia Pérez were among the drama feature film nominees while Anora, Challengers and The Substance were included in the comedy film nominees.

“Seinfeld” writer Spike Feresten is auctioning off his 1966 Triumph Bonneville T120R motorcycle, with the funds helping the continued recovery efforts in the wake of the Palisades fire.

Fans hoping to own Feresten’s motorcycle have through Wednesday, March 19 to put in their bid through Bring a Trailer, with the website reading: “The auction winner will have the option of taking delivery of the motorcycle directly from Spike on the set of Spike’s Car Radio.”

On Instagram, Feresten wrote in his post: “We’re honored to be part of this charity auction benefiting the Palisades Charter High School Booster Club (@palihighboosterclub) and their fire recovery efforts.”

Proceeds will go to the Palisades Charter High School Booster Club in order to support recovery efforts in the Palisades, one of many places in Southern California devastated by the wildfires back in January.

The Oscars will honor the best movie of the year this Sunday, but the infamous Razzie Awards have crowned the “worst” of 2024’s films.

Sony’s much-derided superhero film “Madame Web” has the (dis)honor of winning three Razzies, including worst picture, actress for Dakota Johnson and screenplay. “Joker: Folie à Deux,” another divisive superhero entry,” led with seven nominations and took home screen combo for Joaquin Phoenix and Lady Gaga and prequel, remake, rip-off or sequel.

Francis Ford Coppola won for directing his big-budget epic “Megalopolis,” and star Jon Voight won supporting actor for the film — shared with his turns in “Reagan,” “Shadow Land” and “Strangers.” Coppola’s “Megalopolis” received six nominations, which was tied for second-most nods with “Madame Web,” “Borderlands” and “Reagan.”

The famed filmmaker responded to his Razzies on Instagram, saying “box office is only about money, and like war, stupidity and politics has no true place in our future.

The results are in on the 2025 Razzie Awards where the year’s “worst” movies are recognized and awarded.

The annual ceremony, which traditionally takes place just ahead of the Oscars, went down on Friday (February 28).

Going into the event, Borderlands, Joker: Folie a Deux, Madame Web, Megalopolis and Reagan led the field of nominees with six nods a piece. After it was all said and done, Madame Web took home the most “wins,” receiving three trophies.

While film fans will have to wait until Sunday to find out the winners of the 2025 Oscars, the worst in film this year, the winners of the 2025 Razzies, have been revealed.

Topping this year’s awards with three wins, including worst picture, is Sony’s critically panned box office bust Madame Web.

Madame Web also won worst actress for star Dakota Johnson and worst screenplay.

Johnson previously spoke out about her experience with Madame Web, saying the script radically changed from what she initially read and that she was unlikely to “do anything like it again.”

“It was definitely an experience for me to make that movie,” Johnson told Bustle in an interview that was published a few weeks after the film was released. “I had never done anything like it before. I probably will never do anything like it again, because I don’t make sense in that world.

Kate Hudson has had a robust career, but “Running Point” marks a first for the actress. Believe it or not, this is her first leading TV role.

Now streaming on Netflix, the series focuses on Isla Gordon (Hudson), as she’s unexpectedly given control of her family’s basketball team, the Waves. Though a fictional team and story, “Running Point” is loosely based on Lakers president Jeanie Buss.

Ted Sarandos sympathizes with directors who long dreamed their movies would end up on the big screen only to land on streaming as the business continues to shift away from movie theaters.

While talking with Tom Papa and Fortune Feimster on SiriusXM’s “What a Joke” podcast, the Netflix co-ceo tackled the ongoing topic that is the future of the movie theater. Sarandos acknowledged that the business has gotten tougher while saying he feels for directors whose movies never see the silver screen.

“I talk to a lot of directors and I totally respect that they — a lot of them grew up and this was their dream, to have the gigantic screen and a room full of strangers,” he said. “It’s a very tough business model anymore. Wicked, Conclave, and Nosferatu took top honors at the 29th Annual Art Directors Guild Awards (aka the Excellence in Production Design Awards) Saturday. Rachael Harris hosted the show from the InterContinental Ballroom in Los Angeles.

The Art Directors Guild divides its top film prizes into Period, Contemporary, and Fantasy Feature categories, which went to the Oscar-nominated production designers for Nosferatu, Conclave, and Wicked, respectively. Since the inception of these awards, the winner of one of those three has gone on to win the Best Art Direction/Production Design Oscar in 19 of the 28 years and 10 of the past 11 years. The three films will go up against Dune: Part Two and The Brutalist next month for the production design Academy Award, with Wicked considered not only the frontrunner but a heavily-favored one at that.

Nosferatu won top Period Feature over fellow nominees A Complete Unknown, The Brutalist, Gladiator II, and Saturday Night.

“Nosferatu,”“Wicked” and “Conclave” have won the top feature-film awards at the Art Directors Guild’s Excellence in Production Design Awards, which took place on Saturday night in Los Angeles.

“Nosferatu” won in the Period Feature Film category, where its competitors included its fellow Oscar nominee “The Brutalist”; “Wicked” won in Fantasy Feature Film against fellow nominee “Dune: Part Two,” among others; and “Conclave” won in the Contemporary Feature Film category.

In the 18 years since the Adg separated its awards into period, fantasy and contemporary categories, one of the guild winners has gone on to win the Oscar for Best Production Design 14 times. Seven of those awards have come from the period category, six from the fantasy category and one from the contemporary category.

The animated feature category was won by “The Wild Robot,” continuing its roll through awards season.

The Adg divides live-action features into three categories. Production designer Craig Lathrop’s work on early 1800s-set horror adaptation “Nosferatu” won the award in the period film category. Production designer Nathan Crowley’s creation of the “Wicked” land of Oz won the award for a fantasy film, and production designer Suzie Davies’ Vatican sets delivered “Conclave” the trophy for a contemporary film.

“Conclave,” “Nosteratu” and “Wicked,” along with Adg nominees “The Brutalist” and “Dune: Part Two” are nominated for the Oscar in production design. A year ago, “Poor Things” won the Adg Award for a fantasy film en route to an Oscar win in the category.

At the Adg Awards, “The Wild Robot” continued its winning streak, collecting the Adg Award in feature animation.

The Art Directors Guild came together tonight to celebrate the 29th Annual Excellence in Production Design Awards at the InterContinental Los Angeles Downtown on Saturday night, February 15, 2024.

Did you hear? Amy Schumer is about to be "Kinda Pregnant." That's how Netflix's Tudum chose to introduce the comedian's new film, and while such a headline might seem so confusing that nobody ever watched the movie, quite the opposite has transpired over on the king of the streaming platforms.

According to the site, the film is "about a woman who fakes a pregnancy — and maybe falls in love," which I can't help but think is all that was said in the pitch meeting before this one got the greenlight. Why? Because "Kinda Pregnant" has a 22% critic score on Rotten Tomatoes and perhaps even more damning, a 23% audience score. Which is another way of saying that we have yet another middling streaming film on our hands.

Perhaps it's unfair to be so dismissive. After all, the great Will Forte is in "Kinda Pregnant," and it's produced by Adam Sandler's Happy Madison company.

The Kinda Pregnant reviews are in and they’re kinda bad — Rotten Tomatoes has a 22 percent critics’ rating for Amy Schumer’s new Netflix comedy. The comedian is taking the pans personally. “It gets more clicks to trash someone, especially me,” she said in a recent Instagram post.

Schumer gave a shoutout to critic Owen Glieberman for “the bravery to say you like something” after his mostly positive review in Variety. That separates Glieberman from those who “don’t like physical comedy or you are a single guy who prefers sci-fi or sometimes the assignment is to trash something.”

The 45th Golden Raspberry Awards (Razzies) will be held on March 1, 2025, to recognize the worst films of 2024. The nominees were originally set to be announced on January 16, but due to wildfires in Southern California, the announcement was delayed several times, eventually being revealed on January 21.

The nominees were chosen by 1,202 members of the Golden Raspberry Foundation, including movie fans, critics, and journalists. This year, many comic book adaptations received nominations, such as ‘The Crow,’ ‘Madame Web,’ ‘Joker: Folie à Deux,’ and ‘Kraven the Hunter.’

Several well-known actors, including Ariana DeBose, Cate Blanchett, and Joaquin Phoenix, were also mentioned, with Jon Voight getting a nod for his roles in four films. 2024 was really bad for superhero adaptations considering that the movies received eighteen nominations overall.

It is the Golden Raspberry Awards, also known as the Razzies and Razzie Awards. From Mufasa: The Lion King to Madame Web and even Joker 2 are in the run for the Razzies. This time, she co-writes and stars in Kinda Pregnant. The synopsis reads, “Jealous of her best friend’s pregnancy, Lainy wears a fake baby bump…and accidentally meets the man of her dreams.” Netflix has just released a trailer for the movie, which is written by Schumer and Julie Paiva. The script also comes from a story by Paiva, and Tyler Spindel helms the film as the director.

Amy Schumer pretends she’s a mom-to-be in the new trailer for Netflix’s R-rated comedy “Kinda Pregnant.”

In the film, Schumer plays Lainy Newton, a newly single teacher who wants to be a mother. So, she understandably gets a little jealous after discovering her best friend, Kate (Jillian Bell), is pregnant, leading Lainy to tell a slight fabrication… in the form of donning a fake baby bump. Her deception is complicated by the fact that she meets her dream man (Will Forte) while acting like she’s with child.

“Do you ever tell, like, such a big lie you don’t know how to get out of it?” she asks in the trailer. Lainy commits to her fabrication, though, going along with the gestation of her fake baby and new relationship at the same time.
