Keen to make a big impression on his first day of high school, Ted moons a passing car from the back of the school bus. Jada, meanwhile, is busy trying to join an exclusive study group.

Ted's desperate to sample the school chocolate cake, and after realising that the choir are always first to get it, he hatches the perfect plan - he, Jai, and Cody will simply join the choir themselves. Only Cody makes it through, however, and fearing he may have lost Cody to a cult, Ted has to dig deep to get his friend back - meanwhile, Jada loses her place on the basketball team in favour of her clumsy friend Leah.

Ted has been putting off completing his science project - a mock-up of a volcano - while Jai is ready to erupt himself at having to ride a kids' Spiderman bike and desperate to upgrade. Ted feigns illness to fool Lani and buy himself more time to complete the project, while Stu is genuinely sick and not helped by the fact that Bodhi secretly brings a dog home who proceeds to torment him in his fevered state.

Ted is faced with the ultimate conflict when the funeral of his great uncle Alan clashes with a planned trip to ride an infamous rollercoaster - as Jai and Cody wait in line at the theme park, Ted attempts to move the funeral forward to enable him to attend both events. Stu is dealing with an emotional rollercoaster of his own as the loss of his uncle causes him to lament the passing of a childhood rabbit.

An eagerly awaited performance of Romeo and Juliet is underway at school, where Ted hopes to star alongside his very own Juliet - Rosie Barnes - Jai's in charge of backstage scenery, Cody's in charge of swords, and Jada has the chance to follow in her father's footsteps and perform stunts. Trouble arises, however, when Stu and Rosie's father Malcolm take the warring families theme too much to heart.

In an attempt to redeem himself for ruining Lani and Stu's wedding, Ted pulls out all the stops to restage the event, dragging Cody and Jai along for the ride as they try to retrieve a wedding dress from a nursery, secure a wooded location, and avoid a plague of angry bees. Stu is less keen to revisit old wounds - helped by Bodhi, he tries to conceal the fact that it's his and Lani's anniversary.

Halloween has gripped the Noonan household as Stu plans for his party spooktacular and Lani's going trick-or-treating with her two daughters - things are complicated, however, when Jada's invited out by her father on the same day that Ted finally secures a date with Rosie Barnes, only for the date to clash not only with Stu's party, but a trick-or-treat session with Penny too. Can Ted be in three places at once?

Jai is desperate to get a coveted position within the school library, only for his enemy Ethan to be on the panel and make a point of rejecting him. Taking matters into his own hands, Ted downloads the Friend Tree App, where he'll be able to become pals with Ethan and get Jai entry not only to the Librarians' Ball, but also Ethan's good books. Meanwhile, Lani and Stu fight over their good cop, bad cop roles.

While attempting to cheat in his maths exam, Ted has his calculator (well, Jada's) confiscated and is faced with a new equation - how to retrieve it from Mr Rodman's office without Rodman or Jada killing him. Ted uses the school dance competition as a smokescreen, and Jai's all too happy to supply the smoke so long as he gets to do the cha-cha with Jada - meanwhile, Stu and Lani arrange lunch with Jai's parents.

Stu and Lani are taking Bodhi to a holiday camp for the weekend in an attempt to bond with her and bring some much-needed sunshine into her life - with them out of the way, Ted can bring some much-needed freedom into his own life as he, Jai and Cody now have the house to themselves. They are soon faced with three problems, though, the most difficult being how to corral unruly Airbnb guests who've come to stay.
