  • First of all kudos to the director and screen writer for giving enough time and character development of 2 supporting actors who were not just to fill the space but to lead the story forward.

Kishore and priyadarshi show what are they capable of if they are handed with such good roles especially kishore who was always limited to be a sidekick or for some comic scenes, he just blew my mind in some scenes. Hopefully he chooses scripts like this in future.

Hopefully Sharwa gets a break from his flop streak with this venture. He gave his best performance in recent times especially in emotional scenes.

    Amala akineni is good.

Special mention to the dialogues which are impactfull and up to the point.

Good blending of sci fi with human emotions and making it palatable to the common men is a mammothian task which the director did beautifully.

Full length engaging screenplay with no lag elements best interval block ,No cringe elements, no skin show just a good story presentation.

I wish it had as much buzz as brahmastra had in pre release.

    Don't Miss this.
  • If you watch this movie for its techy time-travel stuff, you'll be disappointed to the core since there is no tech stuff presented in it, not even the explanation of time travel machine but still I admire that the quantum stuff was embedded into it to some extent in a subtle way.

Otherwise, the movie is an emotional roller-coaster ride, especially for those who miss their mom, there are so many sequences that could literally bring tears to your eyes if you're of an emotional kind, especially, in the portion where the hero goes back in time & meets his mom, those sequences were well made but overall the film was too slow and for those who aren't used to it might feel a bit difficult to gel-in, but this film is for sure a good one-time watch.

Also, I wonder when would these filmmakers stop targeting 90's kids since that generation is the current working population and it is understandable and so wondering when the filmmakers do, will the economics of the movie would work out for these kinda films.
  • Last year it was Dev katta & Sai tej's Republic.. This year it's karthick & Sharwa's Oke oka jeevitham.. Both the movies deserve more recognition & they deserved more numbers at the box office.

The writer's choice of making the movie with mother's emotion & sci-fi elements is absolutely brilliant. Those emotional sequences worked really well, screenplay is good but is a little slow paced.. maybe that's the directors choice nevertheless the movie never feels boring.

The music is on point there are no unnecessary songs, kudos to the music director Jake's Bejoy, OST is one of his career best.

The direction is very well, VFX is good.

Finally the actors perfomed really well, let it be Amala as Amma or Ritu as vaishnavi or Nasser as the scientist.. Coming to sharwa, his acting capabilities are huge if you know how to use him.. especially in the climax's emotional portion sharwa performed really well, I may say it's his career best.

I hope more people would've enjoyed this movie on big screens.. let's hope this movie atleast gets the recognition it deserves in OTT.
  • Personally I love sci-fi time travel movies. All the characters are perfectly performed. The screenplay is more than enough. I expected the climax, and it's same as I guessed.

In a nutshell, the movie says "We don't need to change our past, live in this moment". And It worked well for this movie. The small boy's nailed it than heros. Yes there were some slow moving scenes, to give us a hype, but it won't affect the movie feeling.

The songs in the movie are not that much connecting, but not bad. Sharwanand, Ramesh thilak and Sathish all the three did their job. These type of well written small buget movies should be promoted properly on tamil cinema industry.

Final verdict: Do not miss this movie!
  • This is one of rare movies that make you stop and realise our life's. The movie let us understand the value of our life's and emotions . It gives a chance for all of us to relish each and every moment we had, we are and we will .

For me it's like pausing for a moment in our fast pace life and look at ourselves.

Must watch ! No words to define my feelings after watching the movie.

Just sitting down and enjoying every moment of it.

Thanks for the director and crew for getting such a complex, intense and much needed story for all of us today and making every possible effort to make everything neat and clear to each and everyone of us.

Next level of story telling and direction!

Appreciate a lot. Please bring more such movies and stories and we would love it.

Time to realise and enjoy our life. Thanks sharwanand and all the team cast and crew for bringing to us.

    Everyone deserve great applause!
  • Nicely conceived, beautifully written and made. Time travel made in a simple and sweet way. Nice to see Amala Akhineni in a movie after a long time. Nice choice as the mother. She seems as pure as she always was.

The whole cast has acted well. Perfect cinematography, very good music. Very realistic as well as engrossing movie that pulls your emotions too.

Some of the movies made nowadays are gangster stuff or silly heroic nonsense. Here is a good film you feel nice after watching. Thanks to the creators.

More people need to watch this so that makers are encouraged to do more good films that all can see.
  • Generally, I don't write reviews for any movie on any website. I look for reviews and then I decide to watch the movie.

But, this movie "Oke Oka Jeevitham" . I don't know I had a lot of positive vibes about this movie from the day "Amma" lyrical song released on YouTube.

This movie strikes your reminiscence about your childhood and It will take you on a journey which is musical, a thriller , lots of fun , very emotional and the movie will definitely change your approach about your life and your present where you're solely responsible and nevertheless whatever happens.

Oke Oka Jeevitham revisits your childhood and will take you on a journey from where you don't want to come back , but you will have to come back to your present as a bright future is waiting for you.

This is the best time travel movie I have ever watched till date mixing and blending all the ingredients of joy, emotions and music.

I loved every bit of the movie and I recommend you all to go watch it with your family and emotional people, please take some extra tissues to wipe your tears now and then.

Brilliant direction by shree Karthick. Sir, you have a great vision and such a crispy and smooth execution. Hats off to you.

Sharwanand deserves a standing applause for this. Darshi and Vennela Kishore are pillars of this movie.

Nassar steals the show and Amla is the heart of this movie.

Please guys go with your family and revisit your childhood.

    Love you mom.
  • Oke Oka Jeevitham (2022) : Brief Review -

A brainstorming Sci-fi idea of Time Travel & Quantum Physics meets the heart and emotions. The idea of time travel is not new to us modern movie buffs. We have seen sci-fi classics like "Back To The Future" (1985) and then modern complex thrillers like "Inception" (2010), " Interstellar" (2014) and "Tenet" (2020) that have the same idea used for different purposes. In Indian cinema, we hardly have a classic to name, but there are a few good attempts for sure. Oke Oka Jeevitham is a new addition to the list. The brainstorming idea of quantum physics is mixed with heart and emotions to present a sensitive drama-cum-thriller. The film is about 3 friends who get a chance to travel into the past and change things they wish to. There is a simple formula - Time travel > introduction > problems > fight > comeback > happy ending. Oke Oka Jeevitham blindly followed it when it had a great chance to become an advanced film and a film way ahead of its time. There are many emotional scenes with a lot of creativity involved in them. All the scenes of Adhi staying with his mother again, along with Kutlu, were highly sentimental. One can't forget the significance of them because it's not just a nostalgic experience but a heartwarming memory too. I did have tears in my eyes for a while and was hoping this film would do even better in the second half. Unfortunately, the basic formulas pulled down an innovative drama and a thriller. The last 30 minutes of the film look scattered, cliched, and senseless. The music is a big plus here, while the screenplay goes down in minus grades. Debutant Shree Karthick could have taken this film to the next level, but he remains behind the set boundaries. That out of the box vision was missing here along with intelligent writing (especially in the second half). Overall, a good attempt, but definitely deserved a better outcome than this.

    RATING - 6/10*

  • Simply superb movie. Thought it would be another routine mother sentiment movie but not. Every artist did their best in their roles. Sarva as usual gave his best. Screenplay is good. This will be one of the directors best movie. Amala as mother is the best choice. Her performance as usual is very good. Time machine concept with mother sentiment worked well. Felt like there are No unnecessary scenes and concentrated very well to the story. Ritu Varma role is small but made a huge difference especially in scenes with kids. Music is very very good. Bejoy gave some good tracks. Time very well spent watching this movie. Give it a try, u will love it.
  • RATED 7/10 Language: Tamil Media Partner: Sony Liv Source: Nil

This is typical mother sentiment movie with time travel masala.... The time travel things and some comedy scenes are worked out well... but the backbone of the movie, mother sentiment is overdosed and dragged the movie to snail pace...

Only one chance of time travel restriction in first half becomes joke in the second half... they are jumping like anything.... There are lots and lots of mother sentiment sequences with very long shots... most of the story is predictable....

The only saving grace is the climax...The climax is not routine and try to be bit realistic one.... Mixed bag one... watch it with restricted expectations...
  • An emotional time travel movie with intresting drama . More than a time travel movie Kanam is well written emotional drama with good entertaining elements . Intresting plot which is easily connectable to the audience , most of us had thought or dream changing our past , likewise this movie had three characters , lost one , missed one and failed one . First half took its own time to build the story and intresting plot twist in intermission . Second half was complete Adventure and emotional . Director did a great job by not focusing much on time machine concept , jus sticking to the story and message . Cast did a great job , it was good to see Amala Akkineni after long time . Music was well composed . Message they were trying to deliver was well conveyed and hard hitting . Overall a intresting and entertaining time travel emotional drama with good message . Don't miss it to watch it with your family .
  • Engaging Sci-Fi Drama filled up with Comedy and Emotions. Usual Time travel with Unusual Perfect Screenplay. Easily Connect and Understood by all set of audience. Make us to stay involved inside the film in presence of good Turns and Twists. Good Casting. Sharwanand, Amala Akkineni mam, Ramesh Thilak, Sathish, Nasser sir, Boys showing in a Young age - Good Performance. BGM and Songs supported well, it didn't make any distraction to the story. Camera Work, Art Work, Lighting, Dialogues, VFX - Fantastic. Comedy and Emotional Scenes ruled the film. Both the first and second half have gone with the same speed, mood and interest. Carried a good message. Appreciation and Big Round of Applause to the entire team of Kanam.

Very Good Family Entertainer and Must Watch Film in Theatres.
  • Saw one Hollywood movie with same concept but only few can adopt to our native and one such movie is this. Great Narration and didn't waste time with commercial elements. Need special applause to director and editor. Great Movie. Cast selection is good too. Can feel emotions and dialogues at end of movie is an eye opener.

Thanks to entire crew for the great movie.

Dont look at the reviews. Just go and watch the movie peacefully.

Only improvement I feel was 90's could have shown better. Not sure why director has limited that one with only one advertisement. If that could have taken care I would have enjoyed throughly and connected well.

It is sooooo good and many nostalgic 90s moments. Such an intense emotion delivered subtly with a mix of joy comedy and heart pulling moments. A time travel movie is always ridiculed at many levels but Kanam has been made in such a way that it is so realistic! Such a great movie.

It has clearly showed us that we have to rejoice the moments we have with people we love. Mom- child relationship has been beautifully depicted and all the actors have done an exceptional work!

Thanks to the director who has bought those emotions out in every character!

Feel good movie with many nostalgic moments! A great watch with all your family!
  • After "Indru Nettru Naalai" a complete emotional time travel to our past. I gave 8/10 because it not as complex as Indru Nettru Naalai and not handling the Predestination well, but still holds and keeps the emotional parts intact.

Amala's acting is superb. I wanted see her comeback as actress after long time. All other characters did their part very well.

We enjoyed the movie very well and travelled with the characters to our past.

The Tamil version is shot in Tamil language itself thanks for that. Production should gave this movie a good advertising and established it well. By seeing the trailer I thought it is dubbed movie. Otherwise I should have seen it on theater.

Next it time please add some light on the Science side too! Thanks.
  • The story and screenplay of the movie was amazing. Time travel movie. There is no boring scene in the movie. It was a very emotional, comedy, drama movie. Some comedy scenes will bring lots of laughs. Some scenes were emotional. Many thanks to the author of the story for writing like this. Thanks a lot to the director Shree Karthick for making such a movie. The performance of all the actors in the movie is good. Sharwanand's performance was good. Specially Vennela Kishore, his expressions, dialogue delivery, acting performance in comedy scenes were rocking. There were no hot scenes in the movie. Perfect family movie. A good time will be spent watching the movie. Must-watch movie. If you miss this movie, you will miss a lot.
  • Can you re watch it ??? Absolutely yes. The promotions should have been more for this kind of movie because these are the movies that show one movie language industry is how vibrant and unique and also this is kind of a movie that can touch any heart from any region and makes us feel proud that we Indians can make time based movies. But in reality promotion were average but result is good but the only thing is that it should have been reached to more people in its theatrical run. Coming to movie you won't find a dialogue, song, or character or place or shot that is unnecessary. Well planned, well executed, well performed.

The concept & story is really beautiful. This movie will makes us realize the importance of Time, life & emotions. Story connects the emotions & bond between mom & a son. It's a time travelling based film but.. It doesn't include much techy stuff, the story & the time travelling part was very simple. One of the most interesting part of this movie is that they gave preference to both the supporting characters equally to the lead actor. Both the supporting actors had a back story, they played a crucial part in this film. Cinematography was decent & songs are damn good. It connects the emotions & love between mom & son.
  • A struggling young musician, along with his two friends, with the help of a quantum physicist goes back in time to prevent the death of his mother. What happens next? The plot and exection is simple, but rest assured u will not be disappointed and will be taken on a magical thrill and emotional ride for 2 hours.

It is aslo good to see yesteryear actress Amala's return to big screen and she does not disappoint. 3 friends meeting their own kid versions and trying to influence their future, lead to some interesting situations and highly enjoyable moments. The casting is perfectly apt and do a wonderful job. Cinematography and music perfectly complement the drama. Despite of a few minor dips in the latter half, it still ends up as one heartwarmingly satisfying watch with a thoughtful underlying message. This sci-fi drama is emotional and engaging, with the finest performances from the cast. All the characters were fleshed out well. This is time travel done right.
  • This movie is a masterpiece. I usually don't do any review, only for this movie, I review because it was a classic film. All actors did great, especially Sharwanand and Amala, all I can say for Amala, is a hug comeback for her. The direction, screenplay, and story was another level, like in a maximum level, there was a bit slow pace in this movie, frankly speaking, just minus that slow pace and just watch the movie how emotion it is and your minds became stucked to that movie. Vennela Kishore and Priyadarshi's comedies, time traveling, mother sentiments, it makes one big classic story. Ritu Varma's character was small role, but she was at least part of the story. To tell more good, the emotional climax and amma song was next level. Sid Sriram and Jakes Bejoy were suitable enough to make the song because the song makes everyone emotional. All I can say is that it's a nice and heartwarming film, so feel free to watch with family and younger audiences because this gave a 'U' certificate for this film. This is why I gave this double rating and made a review out of this because it's a very special film of the year. Happy Watching.
