Laurie Strode confronts her long-time foe Michael Myers, the masked figure who has haunted her since she narrowly escaped his killing spree on Halloween night four decades ago.
Throughout the film, several characters talk about Cameron's (Dylan Arnold) dad "Lonnie" and what a troublemaker he was and continues to be. In the original Halloween (1978), Lonnie Elam (Brent Le Page) was a sixth grade bully who constantly harasses Tommy Doyle (Brian Andrews), the boy Laurie (Jamie Lee Curtis) was babysitting. He would later be scared by Dr. Loomis (Donald Pleasence) outside the abandoned Myers house.
Do you know that I prayed every night that he would escape?
Hawkins: What the hell did you do that for?
Laurie Strode: So I can kill him.
When Sheriff Hawkins enter the house on the domestic disturbance call, he yells out "Haddonfield Sheriff's Department". The patch on his jacket says "Warren County Sheriff". Haddonfield is an incorporated municipality and would not have a county sheriff patrolling but rather a police chief, as sheriffs are county level law enforcement and the municipal police would be the Haddonfield Police Dept.
At the end of the closing credits, Michael Myers' distinctive breathing can be heard.
