  • When I saw the trailer for this, I was shocked, as who wanted this cartoon to be revived, especially after its last two seasons proved it has past its prime and especially as a live-action sitcom? Seeing the show, it's not as bad as I thought it would be, but it's not good either.

Set years after the cartoon, Timmy Turner is headed to college, but decides not to take his fairies with him. Thankfully, with his cousin Vivian, Viv for short, moving back into Dimsdale, decides to allow her to have them, even going as far as to get a permission scroll from Jorgen Von Straggle. Now, the fairies help Viv, as well as her stepbrother, Roy, navigate life in Dimsadale.

Okay, this reboot is a live action reboot, complete with an unnecessary laugh track for jokes, but it does have some good things. For the time being, it seems to have erased the bad continuity of the cartoons (as there's no Chloe Carmichael to be seen, and not even Poof is anywhere near this, although there is a chance if the shows actually continues beyond 13 episodes, they may show up). Also, Nickelodeon made the good choice to have Wanda, Cosmo, and the fairies be traditional animation instead of the CGI they were done in for the TV movies (which thanks to this, is also non-canon), with Darran Norris and Susanne Blakeslee returning to voice Cosmo, Jorgen and Wanda. And while Vicky returns and is recast, so does Denzel Crocker, and unlike Vicky, Carlos. Alazaquil returns to play this memorable villain, even in live action form.

However, as I said, it is still far from perfect. The live action sitcom format is a bit iffy, and some of the jokes are hit or miss. However, I suggest not taking my word for it, or any other people who are posting positive or negative reviews without explaining the series in general with an open mind (be it a couple episodes or the full series, the latter being if you have time to kill) and coming up with your own opinion.

    Warning: Spoilers
They did a good job balancing the animation and live action and I liked Viv and Roy and their new sibling dynamic. However the season often veered into just plain stupid when trying to retake the fun silly antics of the original show. The whole Vicky being in love with Crocker thing is really sick considering their age difference. Wish there had been a few more characters from the original series. It could definitely have turned out worse but a lot of the cast seemed annoyingly obnoxious at times.
  • This show makes me hate the original Fairly oddparents and I loved that show. I think this show is boring and stupid!! It's a live action show WITH WANDA AND COSMO!! Reboots that shouldn't be reboots like fairly odder should be CANCELLED!!

    Awful
This show takes a huge dump on the og show and ignores the established canon . These kids don't look miserable at all. In the original show only miserable kids had fairy god parents . This show is just a cash grab . I noticed Butch Hartman is a producer on the show . He very obviously doesn't care and is only doing this for the money. The movies with drake bell are better than this mess . Even though those movies were cringey too . If they wanted to do a sequel it should have been animated . Fairly Odd Parents doesn't work as a live action sitcom . Maybe it would have worked with better actors . This is just awful. 1/10.
  • This is pretty much a live action sitcom with a laugh track, with animated characters in it. The only real cool thing to see is the original voices returning for the animated characters. Aside from that it's all cringe humor, horrid acting, over the top, and a snooze fest. Just please bring back the original! Make it animated, hasn't Nickelodeon learned any live action Fairly Oddparents project never holds a candle to the show? Gosh, I'd rather sit through the Chloe episodes than to touch THIS again. I'd say just binge watch the original show on Paramount+ and just shrug to this one.
  • We don't need anymore to keep killing franchise bad enough we already had live action movies now this i don't recommend watching this one stick to something Icarly this is just insulting who grew up with original show.
  • I can't believe they messed up Rugrats, and This.. all because, they're taking notes to their executives saying 2D animation isn't working for the audiences. Like.. never mind the audiences, what about the fans? Stop listening to those bad execs. And focus on reviving 2D animated shows for Netflix like you promised 2 years ago.
  • Warning: Spoilers
I can't believe that someone actually thought that doing a live action reboot of a cartoon that was extremely butchered so badly in its last two seasons was a good idea.

The production value is I think the worst that I have seen for a Nickcom and that is saying a lot considering Nickelodeon we're already being cheap with their live action sitcoms. Poor costumes, same like five sets used, every episode with stock footage and some of the worst effects I have ever seen in a mainstream kids show.

The new characters are all flat one dimensional discount versions of their original animated counterparts. Xena's basically Tootie because she is obsessed with Roy. There is a kid that shares the same name as Rémy Buxaplenty in the original that does nothing on the show. Our two main characters, Viv and Roy are both so bland and forgettable.

Same for the existing characters in fact they have been butchered beyond all belief. Cosmo and Wanda basically do nothing but grant wishes in the series and they both have the same low IQ. Vicky is completely different from her original version, exclude the fact that she hates children. She is somewhat obsessed with catching fairies now and has a crush on Crocker, a character that was supposed to be unattractive in the original, which is really just creepy.

The animation probably looks like it is from an NFT like the Red Ape Family. Like it makes the animation from those awful live action movies from the early 2010s look like Fantasia in comparison, especially that last scene with Crocker in prison.

Overall, an atrocity to TV and even Morden Nickelodeon as a whole.

    Warning: Spoilers
One of the worst shows I've ever seen. But it has managed to make me think that it is "so bad it's good" which is NOT the same as "so bad it's funny."

From here on, there's spoilers. If you care.

There's an episode with elderly zombies. ANOTHER live action Timmy Turner. A LIVE ACTION CROCKER?! PLAYED BY THE ACTUAL VOICE ACTOR?! COSMO AND WANDA ARE EVEN STILL VOICED BY THE SAME PEOPLE!!

Also, the step-brother guy has a bright future. He's really trying to perform his best.
  • One I dislike live action remakes because they're never done correctly. Second the cast is all wrong, they over act, the jokes are cringe over done & simply not funny. It's like they're running out of ideas or something because everything they've been putting out seems like a bad remake of something they've already a done before. The only people I can see enjoying this show are little kids who've never seen the original, but even then they're better off watching the original. And for the people giving it high reviews, I'm not really sure if they watched the show sober or not.

Obviously nothing can touch the original but this is ACTUALLY not TOO bad. Some funny moments where I laughed and all. Quite enjoyable for all ages. Definitely recommend.
  • This show is not that bad after all and also I wish this show will be funnier If it really having a animated reboot by every single people around the whole world. My review is Seven out of ten on my opinion. Good show. Good live action show.
  • I hate this show and I'm not done with it yet but holy hell it is so bad the animation is awful the writing is lazy and all and all I shouldn't suggest watching this.

I grew up with Fairly Odd Parents and I couldn't even get through the first episode. The only part I really liked was the beginning where they talked about Timmy growing up. I wish they would've focused more on him growing up and not him going to college and giving his fairy's to someone else.
  • Okay, okay, okay, OKAY! This is crazy!

I was hating everything about this show when I saw the trailers, and everything, and (For No Reason), I checked out this show, and it wasn't great AT ALL, but it was super surprising. I have finished the entire show, and it's not as bad as I thought it was going to be. Granted, it does have some stupid and cringy and cheap jokes thrown into there, but for most of the time..... it has funny jokes. The acting isn't terrible, and the best part of the show is still the 2D Animated Segments with Cosmo and Wanda, but overall, not a terrible show, as I was expecting.

    5/10 would suit this.

The cast members have great chemistry so I can't blame them for the awful writing of this show. On shows that I look back on from my childhood, I can still chuckle as the writing is actually funny but today's writing is horrible. I guess the writers feel like they can poorly do their job and kids will enjoy it, but that's not the case. It's not that hard to take notes from older, successful shows.
  • Warning: Spoilers
I'm trying to watch it. It's horrible so much I skip though it I rather watch Avatar the last Airbender then this garbage. Avatar The Last Airbender the. Better than this weird ass rebooted show. I forgot news reporter is extremely annoying. Who eat cake with chopsticks?!
  • Warning: Spoilers
While I think the concept of Timmy turner not having to take is fairy godparents to college and giving them off to the cousins was an interesting concept. The way that a deteriorating Nickelodeon had to make it live action was what you would expect. It looks cheap horrible acting and the hybrid animation with the movements is clunky for 2022 standards. It's not funny and it suffers like Henry danger...using the laugh track over a unfunny joke. It's worse than Kamp Koral because at least that had a good joke there and there, with some interesting animation. However it's not as bad as the Patrick Star Show, but nick shouldn't have touched this and should've went through more creative ideas. However Warped is better but falls flat on acting.

They pretty much ruined The Fairly OddParents. This series is much worse than the 3 live action movies played by Drake Bell. This series completely forgot about the ending of Channel Chasers, and this series is full of plot holes like Kamp Koral.
  • Warning: Spoilers
I absolutely totally hated this show! I loved the original Fairy OddParents in about 19 years as a kid. It's horrible and it sucks! Rebooted the show is not the best idea since they made this terrible Reboot of Thomas called "All Engines Go". Overall this is the worst Nickelodeon show and an absolute frustrating piece of garbage! Just stick with the original!

    1/10.
  • Warning: Spoilers
I watched the whole 13 episodes of this show and I have a few notes about it. Some few parts is good but more of them sucks. Really, a sitcom features does not help this franchise. I really love the original Fairly Odd Parents but when I am seeing the weird dancing phases and then some kids from Generation Z, they are behaving like Generation Alpha which is disgusting. Plus when I am seeing on the first part that Viv wants get out from Dimmsdale and then in the middle of the series when weird robot attacks the Dimmsdale decide to cough out her best friend from Oldsburg and stick up for Roy and weird girl which loves Roy, I think. Really, there are some good features about this show like animation of Cosmo and Wanda and their feelings (except when they're saying goodbye to Timmy) but that's all. Animation of Jorgen is unfinished and real-live Mr. Crocker is amazing but when he's animated in Fairly World Prison, that stinks. If you want to do the second series and do not let the franchise die, LISTEN TO THE FANS OF THE SERIES. That helps.
  • I though it was impossible to mess up a children's show, but when i saw this i was proven wrong. I highly don't recommend this show, it was terribly painful to watch even one episode, i even threw up once or twice. The acting sucked and effects were poor. The main boy actor (roy) was really annoying. His acting was poor and he is scary-looking. He could definitely play the evil guy in a horror movie, and these are all compliments. The story doesn't make any sense and the acting of the parents was terrible. The show was weird and not funny at all. To sum this up, don't watch this show unless you want to die of cringe.
  • Keep in mind this is a kids show so it's low budget; everything is fake, there's an episode where a kid is using Monopoly money as real money. Everything is orange to remind you it's nickelodeon. But I can't help but keep laughing at how much of a hot mess this show is, but that could be the brownies talking.
  • Warning: Spoilers
Daran Norris (Cosmo/Jorgen) and Susan Blakeslee (Wanda) are the only thing that will save this show. I really want to like it, but I just can't. Cosmo and Wanda are the only thing that makes me laugh. I wonder if this will make it past season 1. And acting?? Are people even taught how to act anymore?? I mean what the actual crap?!?
