At the end of this highlights edition of the programme Nish Kumar announced on screen that he is to step down from his role hosting the show, even if were to be recommissioned. The comedian joked that "It's been the longest I've ever stayed at a job". Kumar hosted The Mash Report on BBC Two from 2017 to 2020 before carrying on the same role on this revival of the format on UKTV's comedy orientated channel Dave.
