Having been a huge fan of Adventure Time since I was 12, this one is pretty nostalgic to me. I remember watching an episode of Adventure Time back then on our family television (I think it was "Trouble In Lumpy Space") that lured me and the whole family into the series. It's got everything a child could ever dream of: adventure, princesses, and all things mathematical!
Other than that, Adventure Time had always been so great at telling their stories, with character arcs that just make sense and are so raw that gives the antagonists of the story their own character development which makes you love them more. Each and every character are unique in their own little way.
Adventure Time: Fionna and Cake tells the story of the two titular characters who gets stuck in the multiverse that is told so perfectly and alters infinite realities massively. The creators are never afraid to test our their abilities to further expand the stories and how literally anything could happen. So far, "The Winter King" and "The Star" are my favorite episodes of the season -- and I am craving for more. I already love Gary and Marshall Lee's storyline, as well as Simon and Fionna's dynamic.

I absolutely love this series! I never really liked all of the Fiona and Cake episodes in original adventure time since they seemed rather cheesy but this series has done an amazing job fleshing out their characters. Every character in this series is now more nuanced and mature. I love exploring what has happened during the time we've been absent from this series. I can't believe they were willing to take such a risk as making adventure time more adult and I can't believe the transition worked so well. It's an exciting new perspective for adventure time to take and I feel like this is something more shows that were originally targeted at children that also captured a more mature audience need to do. It's rare to see a show grow with it's audience and also very rare for a show to be so in touch with it's fans' opinions and desires as Fiona and Cake is. I believe this show delivers for any fan of adventure time. 10/10 can't wait to watch more.
Its so cool that theres more adventure time! This is really good so far. First episode reminds me of Bee And Puppycat a lot. If you've ever seen that show same vibes but way better, plus you get to look for and identify all of the normal-universe versions of the Fionna and Cake characters. Its kinda confusing at first what universe we are in and how they connect but i'm sure that will be explained over the course of the show. I was worried at first that this show would state that all of the original adventure time was just a dream but i think its gonna end up being more complex than that. Grown up Finn is so cool and funny! I love him. Its cool to me that the story arcs have gotten longer overall from standalone 10 min episodes to 8 episodes arcs to an almost hour long finale and distant land episodes. Now this series builds on all of them and looks to be a continuing arc with 25 min episodes. So excited to see where it goes!
This is getting really difficult to watch as a lot of intense emotions surface watching these episodes and I can't remember a show that ever felt like that, let alone for a reboot. But seeing all those memories, references, things I've been wrestling with in my mind that left me a bit touched, a bit scared, with sweet and bitter tastes. And the writers know how deep the imprint of Adventure Time still is in our soul; so they genuinely sparkled that rebooted world with everything that made it successful and have great talents to suggest it to the spectator at a proper pace to intensely enjoy those memories.
Gosh I don't think I've ever been that eye-blurry throat-coated about any other show. This is starting really well.

I love this. I think everyone who watches this has watched Adventure Time. Fionna & Cake? It's everything we loved from AT condensed and elevated, bloodier with more personal and heavy themes to keep up with the aging audience, and a familiar cast of characters in a new light, in new variations and closer insights into them.
The humor is on point, the action is krisp, and I love the new directions they're exploring with the multiverse. I truly hope that this will be as long, if not longer than Adventure Time. Because the potential is there, the quality too, a hit series better than its predecessor is in the making.
Please, keep it up. We love Adventure Time. And this? It's AT², truly mathematical!
