  • I have seen bad actors getting better after acting many movies, like Katrina Kaif and Arjun Kapoor. They are still not good actors but better than what they were. But Mohanlal becoming bad actor from an excellent extra ordinary actor is unbelievable. He used act with his eyes, body movements and stillness. Now it all look like caricature!

There are many 1 actor movies which are very captivating and make you feel at the edge, but this movie lacks that. It is plain boring and you see Mohanlal instead of Kalidas. There were some good moments but 85% are bad. Not a tight fast paced script which needed for this kind of movie.

Don't even try to watch it on OTT.
  • As a big mohanlal fan, I request him not to act in movies like monster and alone which is shot inside a flat alone for running time more than one hour. This movie was worse than monster. Going from kitchen to living room to bed room of a flat and vice versa is lagging to the core. Don't give lockdown excuses. Lockdowns are over. Normal life has returned. Such experiments of shooting with a single actor on screen and only voices of other actors won't work in Indian film industry. This movie has little resemblance to shutter island, Athiran etc . Only positive is Mohanlals acting and dialogue delivery . This movie is not even OTT worth.
  • Before digging in to the core, let's share the positive side of the movie. The location (the flat) is well lit and not a single frame is out of order. The camera angles and visualisation attempt are very well done. It's gives the very feeling like we , the viewer is in the very place throughout the movie.

Lal has done almost a good job as a single actor before the camera with just voice support of other artist to carry on. But still on few scenes the usage of strong bgm doesn't fits the scenario. And it resulted in a way like over reacting with philosophical dialogues also which adds to the mess.

Now for the plot, the movie's length is pretty high, should have wrapped it under 90 minutes before the viewers start feeling bored.

A few scenes are much like repeated and felt like it's been shown again For example the familiar Corona announcement before each phone call is practically familiar to everyone, but it's beg forced to be in frame every single time.

Not sure whether how many even fans too will watch and enjoy this movie, in the way out was meant to be enjoyed. In short it was meant to be good work, but failed in execution miserably with the just the climax to relish.

The movie should have given justice to the audience the same thrilling experience they have gifted in the last few minutes before the curtain fall. Luckily i watched in OTT than in big screen.

I am shocked that such a pathetic movie is a product of Malayalam industry and it involves one of legendary actors like Mohanlal. It hurts!

I have a lot of respect for Mohanlal but his acting in this movie is horrible. Everything in this movie is horrible. Supposed to be funny jokes are cartoonish, mystery is childish, dialogues are over the top. IMO just like other characters, if mohanlal also disappeared from screen and voices were muted and just a blank screen was shown for 2 hours probably that would have been better movie.

This is just a naive mixture of ideas ripped off from Hollywood movies like shutter island, memento and tried to be served as a cerebral thriller. But ends up sending audience to coma.

Why do you need to copy Hollywood when you can give original movies like Drishyam. I am stunned that when Mammootty these days is delivering amazing movies which are pushing boundaries and making us think, why Mohanlal is acting in these stupid, pathetic movies. Mohanlal sir, please choose better scripts from now on.
  • Alone is a lugubrious and soporific exercise in cinematic futility that fails to elicit any semblance of interest or empathy from the viewer.

The film is also bereft of any plot, suspense, logic, or coherence, as it meanders aimlessly from one scene to another, with no discernible purpose or direction. The film is an affront to the intelligence and sensibility of the audience, who are subjected to a barrage of clichés, contrivances, and absurdities that defy all reason and plausibility.

The film is an insult to the talent and charisma of Mohanlal, who is reduced to a caricature of himself, mouthing platitudes and truisms that are neither profound nor relevant.
  • A man stay in a new apartment and realize some spirits haunt there and something try to convey to him.. Then he try to helps the spirits and find the killer of them by using his resource... But there is no clarity of the protogonist's profession and motive of the killing bad people.... And climax would be very confusing... One time watchable movie..!!

Mohanlal's film #Alone directed by Shajikailas is an experimental movie that can claim its uniqueness..The script written by Rajesh Jayaraman based on the time of covid, with the magnificent performance of the great actor Mohanlal and the direction of the hit maker director Shajikailas, even the audience who came to the theater without any expectations were applauded.

#Alone is truly a daring experiment..to keep the audience in the theater for more than two hours with one actor and location..only a great director and an actor who makes the audience sit in the theater can take that risk..Shajikailas and Mohanlal have succeeded 100% in that regard..

For this film, there was no grand promotions or online channels and the crew did not share it. All that was in front of the audience was a good trailer.

Overall, this is a Mohanlal film..those who have been waiting for Lal as an actor...those who measure his acting skills, #Elon will be a delicious meal.

And #Natural Acting, in some scenes the actor Mohanlal will teach us through this film as a sample shot..

Director Shaji Kailas has made a good mystery/thriller movie that has only one character in "Alone". Mohanlal pulls off the one man-movie with ease and elegance. The movie has an average first half flowed by a good second half and climax. Go with low expectations and if you are a fan of the actor you may like it.

Performance wise we have Mohanlal on screen, and Manju Warrier, Prithviraj, Baiju, Siddique, and others as voice artists.

The dialogues could've been a little more sharper and that would've pulled the movie up a few notches. This is a welcome change for Lalettan in 2023. I am a fan of the actor and I felt the movie was overall a good watch.
  • 😲😲 We are in awe of the greatness of this movie!!!!!

Honestly, Alone was one of those very unassuming plots as it introduced us to Kalidasan (Mohanlal), a casual and carefree man who loved life and people; yet, the mysteries contained in his apartment enticed us to follow the journey.

The movie was filled with a number of hints found in the apartment decor, dialogues, Kalidasan's behavior, the apartment building's name, and even in Kalidasan's own name.

It's so shocking that many people gave this movie bad publicity because Alone was an outstanding work of reflection. The film creatively told us a mind-blowing story through a one-man cast, gradually fed us with relevant details to keep the momentum going, engaged us with dynamic camera movements, and wowed us with Kalidasan's super genial modus operandi.

If this is not brilliance, don't know what else we can call it!

    BRAVOOOOOO.
