Many of the voice actors carry over from The Kung Fu Panda Video Games, apart from Tigress, Mantis and Crane who had new voice actors for the TV series altogether. Viper on the other hand was the only character to keep her Voice Actor (Lucy Liu) from the films.

There are some minor inconsistencies for the coloring of some characters, such as Tigress' eyelids being black instead of white and Shifu's legs being white instead of brown.

This is Nickelodeon's second DreamWorks deal, with the first being The Penguins of Madagascar (2008).

Like The Penguins of Madagascar (2008), the series was given a second season before premiering.

This is Nickelodeon's first animated series since Avatar: The Last Airbender (2005) to normally use half-hour long episodes.

While James Hong, Lucy Liu, and Randall Duk Kim reprised their roles from the films for the series, some of the show's other voice actors reprised their roles from the video games.
