Family Guy may have a whopping 25 years (and 22 seasons) under its belt, but according to creator Seth MacFarlane, the animated comedy isn’t going anywhere any time soon.
In a recent interview with L.A. Times, MacFarlane gave his two cents about the show’s potential future. When asked if the show could last another 25 years, the executive producer (who also voices many of the show’s main characters including Peter, Brian and Stewie Griffin) seemed open to it. As long as the audience doesn’t “get sick of it.”

Most animated shows have a general idea of what their characters are going to be when they start casting, but in the case of the Fox family sitcom "Bob's Burgers," they actually worked in reverse. The series went backwards by starting with a cast in mind and then created the Belcher family inspired by the cast and their specific talents. It's a pretty unique way to create a television show, but it worked great because the voice actors each bring so much to the table that the show actually uses a mixture of written script and improv to bring the Belchers to life, something very few animated shows would ever even attempt.
H. Jon Benjamin is perfect as the family's fumbling but loving patriarch, Bob, while John Roberts somehow manages to change his voice to the perfect pitch for Bob's wine-chugging, song-singing wife Linda. It's not super unusual for voice...

Nobody does April Fools’ Day better than Adult Swim. For the past 20 years, the network has made it an annual mission to keep the prankish spirit of the jester-based day alive by throwing its viewers a curveball. Be it absurd gags, silly gimmicks, and sometimes grade-a shocking game-changers, April Fools’ Day is a colossal event for Adult Swim that every adult animation fan can’t miss.
Here are a few of the channel’s best April Fools’ Day moments from the past two decades.

Exclusive: Fox Entertainment CEO Rob Wade is realigning the company’s content and business operations into three groups, the Fox Television Network, Fox Entertainment Studios and sales arm Fox Entertainment Global.
The restructuring includes new senior leadership roles for Michael Thorn, who has been named President of the Fox Television Network, and Fernando Szew who will serve as Head of Fox Entertainment Studios. They will lead two of the three divisions, continuing to report to Wade. Fox’s Unscripted President Allison Wallach will be part of Szew’s team on the studio side.
The changes create a streamlined structure that keeps network, studio and distribution operations separate under different leaders as opposed to the previous setup where both the scripted and unscripted for network and studio were overseen by the same executive.

Last week, news broke that Bill Hader would voice the lead in Warner Bros. new fully animated movie The Cat in the Hat, based on Dr. Seuss’ 1957 classic children’s book. Today, the studio confirmed that the film will hit theaters in March 2026, with Hader joined by current SNL player Bowen Yang and longtime SNL writer Paula Pell, as well as Quinta Brunson, Matt Berry, and Xochitl Gomez.
Hader is a seasoned voice actor whose talent has won him roles in Sausage Party, Toy Story 4, and Bob’s Burgers, so it’s easy to see, or rather, hear, why WB would turn to Hader for its new Cat in the Hat movie — but in this case, Warner Bros. execs also had a visual aid, though it’s up for debate whether it helped Hader’s case or hurt it.

The long-running Fox animated comedy series "Bob's Burgers" is a little different than its channel mates "Family Guy" and "The Simpsons." Sure, all of these shows are animated comedies about a nuclear family consisting of a mom, dad, and their three children, but "Bob's Burgers" is as full of warm, fuzzy feelings as it is laughs. The writers on the series really know when to take a step back from the jokes and let the drama unfold, giving the characters quite a bit more depth than the average cartoon comedy. The misadventures of the Belcher family, who operate a burger joint in the fictional city of Seymour's Bay, are fiercely funny, but they're also full of a tremendous amount of heart. It's what sets "Bob's Burgers" apart, but according to series creator Loren Bouchard, at least one Fox executive just didn't seem to understand that.

Office Space is celebrating its 25th anniversary following its delayed path to success, although hopefully no one would get their ass kicked for saying something like that.
Released Feb. 19, 1999, director Mike Judge’s enduring and endlessly quotable workplace satire follows computer programmer Peter Gibbons (Ron Livingston), who decides to stop caring about his day job and teams up with Initech co-workers Michael Bolton (David Herman) and Samir Nagheenanajar (Ajay Naidu) to defraud the company. The Fox comedy — featuring such on-the-rise performers as Jennifer Aniston, John C. Other standouts from the cast include Richard Riehle as engineer liaison Tom Smykowski, who defends his job (“I have people skills!”) to Paul Willson and McGinley as the two Bobs who are put in charge of layoffs. In...

Coming across as a deranged mash-up of John Wick, Silent Night, The Hunger Games and… Bob's Burgers? (more on that in a moment), we were already anticipating German director Moritz Mohr's bloody and bizarre Boy Meets World. The trailer for the film just increases that feeling…
The titular "Boy" here is played by Bill Skarsgård, who as a youngster was left orphaned, deaf and mute in a post-apocalyptic world by a cruel ruling family who quell resistance to their rule by culling dissidents annually.
Trained by a mysterious shaman Yayan Ruhian in martial arts and weapons use, he becomes an instrument of vengeance, employing his skills to take down those who wronged him, teaming up with a resistance group at the same time. Oh, and did we mention he also sometimes bickers with the ghost of his rebellious younger sister?
His inner voice, meanwhile, comes courtesy of Bob's star H.

Bill Skarsgård has quickly become an actor whose very presence in a film suggests something twisted is about to go down -- that's what happens when you play a child-eating clown monster in two of the highest-grossing horror movies of all time. But where "Barbarian" cleverly used that foreknowledge to subvert audience expectations and "John Wick: Chapter 4" embraced it by casting the "It" star as the slimeball Marquis Vincent Bisset de Gramont, Moritz Mohr splits the difference in his feature directing debut, "Boy Kills World." Instead of casting Skarsgård as a blood-thirsty killer, the film casts him as a righteous killer in the vein of John Wick himself. And you know what? It might just work!
While it didn't exactly blow critics away last year during its premiere at the 2023 Toronto International Film Festival, "Boy Kills World" still managed to garner praise for its distinct blend of bloody slapstick action and irreverent comedy.

The past three years have severely impacted the broadcast television landscape.
Following a decade of growth — remember the days of 100 pilots? — the TV landscape on broadcast is experiencing further contraction because of production delays caused by both the pandemic and Hollywood’s historic dual strikes in 2023. The result is fewer pilots, a shift to year-round development and now fewer scripted originals as networks bulk up on unscripted fare, cut costs and continue to see development money shifted toward streaming.
On the leadership front, Frances Berwick now has lone oversight of NBC after Susan Rovner was let go from NBCUniversal as part of a larger restructuring, with ABC (Craig Erwich), CBS (Amy Reisenbach), The CW (Brad Schwartz) and Fox (Rob Wade) continuing with their current executives.
The biggest shift in broadcast is the shortened 2023-24 seasons of scripted fare, production on which was delayed from the traditional summer start to the...

Fox is showing early confidence in Animal Control.
The broadcast network has handed out a third season renewal to the comedy series starring Joel McHale, with the pickup arriving a month before its sophomore run debuts.
Created by Bob Fisher, Rob Greenberg and Dan Sterling with Tad Quill attached as showrunner, Community grad McHale stars in the comedy that is the first series that Fox fully owns after the sale of its studio counterpart to Disney a few years ago. Revolving around two things many of us know all too well, neighbours from hell and writer’s block, Destroy All Neighbors is an over-the-top exercise in splatstick from director Josh Forbes and writers Mike Benner, Jared Logan and Charles A. Pieper.
William Brown makes his living as a sound engineer at Industrial Sound & Magic, helping to bring other people’s music to life. Currently, it’s the obnoxious Caleb Bang Jansen, “Emerson, Lake and Palmer? It sounds like Emerson getting buttfucked by Lake and Palmer.”
But when it comes to his own Prog Rock album, he’s stuck in a rut. While his girlfriend Emily believes in him, everyone else around him seems to exist only to stifle his efforts.

Hey, "Bob's Burgers" fans. Unfortunately, we're back with some terrible news for you guys. Yep, it turns out that last week's new episode 11 was the last episode of Bob's Burgers' current season 14 that you're going to see for a pretty good while. That's right, guys. We can currently tell you that there will not be another new episode of Bob's Burgers at least until April 2024 and possibly even longer. We only have confirmation that repeat episodes will run until at least March 31, 2024, but they could run even longer after that because we don't have an announcement for the premiere of the next, new episode 12. With that said, we did track down which repeat episodes of Bob's Burgers that Fox is airing tonight and next Sunday night. According to the TV guide listings, Fox is going to re-air episode 2 of this season 14, titled, "The Amazing Rudy."...

Exclusive: Fox, along with the rest of the broadcasters, is breathing a sigh of relief that new scripted programming will return for the second half of the 2023-2024 TV season. But, while difficult, the fall season wasn’t all bad.
To fill the airtime, Fox leaned on adult animation and unscripted programming — both of which put up positive numbers for the network. New series like Krapopolis put up promising numbers, while the return of Kitchen Nightmares and a second season of Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test helped keep ratings steady this season.
While the upended fall schedule due to the dual strikes was “frustrating,” CEO of Fox Entertainment Rob Wade told Deadline that network’s “mindset quickly moved from frustration to seeing opportunity.”

This is why we can’t have nice things. Disney+ announced today that it will not move forward with a second season of the action-fantasy series American Born Chinese. The decision to cancel the series comes seven months after Disney debuted the eight-episode series on its streaming service, Disney+. The cancelation is raising a red flag for fans of the series, as Disney tends to purge content from Disney+ to save money and digital real estate. We’ve seen the mouse-eared streamer purge content before, with shows like Willow, Turner & Hooch, The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers, The Mysterious Benedict Society, and more. According to Deadline, options on the cast expired yesterday. However, there could be a silver lining to this disappointing news. 20th Television still plans to shop the series to other outlets, giving the show a chance to live again through another platform.

Check back for latest … The fall TV season was upended by the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes, but the beat goes on, though heavy with reality and other unscripted fare like game shows. As Hollywood begins to recover from the dual labor actions, here again is Deadline’s annual list of premiere dates for new and returning TV series.
