In S9:E2, "The Taking of Funtime; One, Two, Three", Louise is banned from Family Funtime and has her picture placed on the Wall of Banishment. Among the other kids with pictures on the Wall are Logan (recurring teen troublemaker and Louise's nemesis 'Ears-y Rider' S3:E1) and "Choo-Choo" (Gene's punchline stealing nemesis from 'Spaghetti Westerns & Meatballs' S1:E9).

To pitch the show to the Fox network, the creators made a rough three minute demo of the scene where Bob and Linda are grinding meat and Bob forgets their wedding anniversary. The differences between the demo and the scene later used on the actual show included very different character designs by Jay Howell, cruder animation, and the Belchers were a family of cannibals, making burgers out of the flesh of their victims. However, Fox found the idea of cannibalism too dark for an animated sitcom so it was taken out. However, this led to the plot of the first episode where the family is accused by the health inspectors of being cannibals.

During the intro, Jimmy Pesto is standing across the street with his hands on his hips. He next appears via reflection in the car window of the exterminator van.

The name of the town the Belchers live in is Seymour's Bay, revealed by Loren Bouchard in Comic Con 2015.

Almost every time Linda leaves the kids home alone, she kisses each of them on the forehead and yells "stay out of my room!" One exception is S3 E20, The Kids Run the Restaurant, where Bob cuts his "finger crotch" and leaves the kids without saying this line.
