June 1982. The anniversary of Ana López and Juan Herrera in the days when Chile began its participation in the World Cup in Spain, which is presented the history and emerging mishaps. The great misfortune or problem is debt to buy Juan a color television, on credit as an anniversary gift. In addition, Félix Herrera lost a penalty in the final of the college football championship, which becomes a premonition of what would happen to Carlos Caszely.

The episode takes place during the overflow of the Mapocho River. Felix makes a homeless friend; Ana discovers that Claudia's boyfriend bought a condom; and the Juan Herrera factory closes.

In September 1982, Ana's parents visit the Herrera home unexpectedly due to Juan's unemployment. Young Félix bravely dances cueca at school's Independence Day event with a classmate resembling "Gertrudis" from a famous TV show.

In October '82, Herrera family's money woes strain harmony. Ana's trips for goods spark Ana-Juan conflicts. Marco and Félix relate to animated character. Juan's comical household struggles due to Claudia's cold.

December 1982, the Herrera López family faces pivotal moments: Martín's aviation school entry, Juan's job, Claudia's date, and Ana's sales. Juan's perspective on women shifts after hearing Exequiel's inspiring story.

December 1982. Juan's father's return stirs family emotions-especially young Félix, who is puzzled by Juan's behaviour. Félix, Martín, and their grandfather send a telegram to Santa Claus after a dispute with Bruno about his existence.

In January 1983, the Herreras await Claudia's exam results. E.T. premiere captivates kids Félix and Bruno, while a new neighbor's arrival coincides with returning exiles. Children ally with Don Genaro to unveil the newcomer's secrets.

Feb 1983: Ana visits her parents with the kids. Juan bonds with Exequiel, and aids Nancy, sparking gossip. Francisco passes the test at Ana's and gets closer to Claudia. Don Farid gives Juan a break as Gervasio performs at Viña Festival.

March 1983: Félix returns to school, Martín from aviation prep, and Claudia readies for university. Nancy suggests a phone but Juan's objection sparks a family crisis. Martín and Claudia clash on politics. Félix and Bruno start a business.

May 1983: The first nationwide protest against Pinochet occurs. Claudia joins and gets arrested. Félix, a new school patrol leader, gets tangled up by taking his uniform to show Ana, who was at the police station to free Claudia.
