  • Warning: Spoilers
This "film" is more an art project than an actual story put to video and audio. A series of still images are scrolled across the screen, telling the story of a Gravedigger (literal translation of the title) who comes to a new town.

As a 5 minute art project demonstrating a "new" technique for photography, this would have been novel in 1912 (when it was first used in the Olympics). 5 minutes is also the time it takes to tell the story. 85 minutes is 80 minutes too long.

Spoiler: there are long periods when there's no commentary, no narration, just endless still pictures scrolling across the screen.

To call this mind-numbingly dull is being generous.
