The plot is not that original. It's another house-flip with the ex, but not much else. No highs or lows, surprises, or tension. I didn't think Trevor Donovan and Tiffany Smith had much chemistry. For one thing their one on one screen time was diluted. Donovan did not seem invested in his role.

This might be nice enough for people who haven't watched hundreds of these.
  • The movie is lackluster. In the hopes to project some romance, it casted Meghan and Harry lookalikes. That, however, doesn't help at all- it distracts.
  • Tiffany smith is the worst poorest actress ever. Her horrible performance in crying and drama scenes are awful. The sister Sarah Ashley Rodriguez another horrible actress along with Kralani Warner. Please take an acting class and if not stop being in movies. Waste of my time. In addition the boyfriend was also a bad actor who kept looking elsewhere. Nervous much. All in all the only good actors were the father and the contractor. Above all though it was Tiffany who is the Main character that just made the movie unbearable to finish. Does she even know how to cry on scene...let me answer NO! She doesn't and the drama scene are the worst.
  • Cliched plot, bad dialog, questionable direction... Trevor Donovan always gives a reliable performance, the rest of the cast are ok. There are better rom-coms to watch or re-watch a favorite one.

Love the movie. Love Trevor Donavan. I have never seen the lady before. She did good with Trevor as her co star. A lot of the actors were new. I'm going to be honest I only watched it because Trevor was in it. It's not a show I will watch again like I do others.
  • These are the most fake Hawaiians I ever seen in the movie. They could at least hire some Hawaiian people to play some of these roads to make it authentic. No accidents on any of these people and supposedly there from the island. They hardly look like they belong on the island and the white guy didn't look like a surfer at all. So far I would say this has the worst acting I've seen in the while. The plot was very cliche. I think the only good thing about the movie was the location in Hawaii. The end of the movie was very predictive and even then they couldn't put together a good script for a good ending. It almost felt like it was too low budget and the only thing that they could actually afford was the filming location in Hawaii. I couldn't keep watching I got distracted pretty easy as the movie was pretty boring.
  • This movie delivers exactly what it's meant to deliver: a light relaxing movie that makes you feel happy and doesn't require you to think much about heavy life matters. It's easy to watch and has a fun island vibe throughout. The storyline is not anything groundbreaking but I don't think that these easy-watch movies are supposed to be.

I like the acting, nothing about the characters and acting performances really bothers me. I love that this movie highlights the Hawaiian culture and features many Native Americans, not just because it's the latest angle in the name of diversity, but because it just fits.

The movie very much focuses on celebrating culture and family in an authentic way. It's refreshing to see a Hallmark movie that really celebrates Pacific Islander culture in a light and approachable way and includes the cast, language, and scenery to match.
  • Overall an unimpressive movie, not really worth your time. The visuals and scenery were very nice but that's about it. I think a lot of the film was actually made there. You can tell that they took a lot of care in finding nice locations that really screamed Hawaii. It does make me want to fly to Hawaii, especially in the winter months! But while in Hawaii I wouldn't want to spend time with any of the characters. The characters did not have chemistry with each other. You are better off watching a different rom-com. Really, any other film has more rom, and more com! Won't watch this one again!!
  • Finally, an original script with truly emoting actors. Combine these elements with fine directing, photography, locations, editing, and color and lighting, and you've got an enjoyable film you want to stay with. Less formulaic, more creative. Tiffany Smith and Branscombe Richmond lead the cast in truly emotional acting, enhanced by an intelligent, team-coordinated support cast.

I really loved everything about this film, from the location to the cast. Trevor Donovan always does a fine job and he doesn't disappoint this time. And the rest of the cast was great, too. The storyline moved quickly and I didn't even realize how fast the time went by while watching. I would recommend this film to everyone who loves a little romance in their lives. I also think it's the kind of film you can re-watch so it's on my DVR forever. I like to know that I can re-watch something that I really like and this movie is perfect for that.

This is also the perfect movie for people who have watched hundreds of films in this genre. I know it was for me, and I'm always grateful when that happens.
  • This movie was shot almost totally in Maui and the cinematography takes good advantage of the beautiful scenery there. It is a story of a 30-something architect from Hawaii working as a junior partner in her Los Angeles firm. She feels that L. A. is home now and has a boyfriend of four years.

Then something happens, her mother had died some years earlier and now presently aunt Lani, who she was very close to, has died suddenly. This brings her back to Maui, but only long enough for the funeral and family visits.

The kink is the will, aunt Lani gave her beautiful ocean-side property and dilapidated home to the two sisters, nieces of hers, with instructions to restore the home before they decide to either live in it or sell it. She also specified that the contractor would be someone who had been an old boyfriend of the niece.

So all that sets up a number of things, new issues arise, they have to decide whether to sell the property or not. This is actually a very nice movie with attractive actors and a good message about appreciating relationships more than business opportunities.

My wife and I watched it at home, streaming on Prime.
