  • After a homophobic slur in a locker-room, a closeted ex-basketball player is confronted by his room-mate (lover) of five years to admit who he really is.

While this is in no way a new issue, the feelings presented here and the damage done through denial is addressed a tiny bit. This film would have been a revolutionary hit in 1980 and I'm guessing that this issue will still be evergreen for decades to come. But this film brings very little that is new or fresh to the table.

The leads are attractive and it's no hardship to sit through 20 minutes of this but I'd have loved to actually have gotten somewhere by the end of it.
  • Crim, a basketball star, is a homophobic man, and hates to be considered gay. But he lives with D, one of his teammates, and feels something for him. D is gay and loves Crim, therefore Crim's words, "I'm not gay", hurt his heart. Because D avoids seeing Crim, Crim is angry and upset. And also, Crim suffers for his reality that he himself is gay. At least, he makes up his mind.

I watched a film about a gay person for the first time, so there are a lot of things to think over. I haven't met LGBT people, but I know there are many all over the world. Maybe, I have already met them and may not realize they are gay. I don't dislike LGBT people and rather, I welcome them. You might think "Easier said than done", but I have a reason why I can say it confidently.

Sexual minority is still not accepted all over the world. It is sad and must be changed. Crim's anguish is related to the situation. They cannot confess their sexuality easily because of the prejudice against them. But I want to say, "Be proud. We are on the right track."

a film about sexual minority. different from many other for its large, profound message. it is not a love story but only a story about use of mask. a film not about tolerance but about self definition. the angry, the injuries as protection, the excuses to be only a public image for save appearances and preserve a good name.in fact, a story about the dose of hypocrisy who defines life.and the great virtue of script, direction, acting is to mark as universal the levels of standard. to use each scene not as demonstration of a thesis but for define basic values of every society. a good film with a splendid end. a film about real freedom and about power to lie circle. in this case, the homosexuality question seems be only a detail. or seed for a more profound analysis about use of standards.

"Triple Standard" is an 18.5-minute short film from 5 years ago. The writer and director is Branden Blinn and it is sad to see with his experienced age and body of work, he is still not fabricating quality films. At least not in this scenario. Short films are a very common genre for gay-themed movies, but sadly it's all quantity over quality as a really low percentage of these is actually worth watching. This one is not. Blinn wasn't able to come up with a convincing story, so he had to find other ways in making this a memorable watch. He took the path of constant swearing and foul language and basically everybody being topless and in underwear during this entire movie. I guess this was so gay audiences would mix up being impressed by a movie with being turned on by a movie. The 2 lead actors weren't particularly good either and it's not surprising they aren't enjoying great careers right now. Then again, hardly anybody could have made this weak script work. Not recommended.
  • Intense and beautiful. There's not much more to say, but I wanted to leave a review because there are so few at this point. Made me feel and explore things and ways of people who are different more than your usual movie, may be understand a bit a certain behavior I usually am simply irritated with. A good waking-up call, that even I myself found important, while I am not a homophobic person in the least.
  • ...to yourself. It is not a love story, a manifesto or the pledge for sexual minority. It is only the film who you deserves to see.About fear, social verdict, sport world, the impression about you of the other, the right behavior and the desire to save appearances. And this pledge for honesty represents the lead virtue of this short film. A film about sport and about the need of the other. And , sure, about fundamental choices. The storytelling, the acting, the cinematography - pillars for a noble idea and for the force of sincerity.
