During the summer of 1979, a group of friends witness a train crash and investigate subsequent unexplained events in their small town.
The video release has a supplement called "Do You Believe in Magic?" showing DOP Larry Fong doing magic tricks for cast and crew and Tom Cruise who apparently visited the set.
I'm so worried for that boy.
Mr. Kaznyk: Joe's gonna be okay.
Mrs. Kaznyk: She was everything to him.
Mr. Kaznyk: Jack's gonna step up. He's a good man.
Mrs. Kaznyk: But he's never had to be a father before. I don't think he understands Joe.
In Joe's room is a model of the Space Shuttle and the external fuel tank is red/orange (at 09:35 along the right side of the frame in front of the Space Shuttle poster and again at 01:01:55). This change did not occur until the 80's as a cost saving measure. Shuttle models before this had a white tank.
After the end credits finish rolling and the Knack's My Sharona simultaneously finishes playing, a small piece of Michael Giacchino's score begins to play over a black screen and then end over the Paramount logo.
In the original theatrical version some shot of Jen Kaznyk walk to Donny in the evacuation center are cut from the DVD version
