We announced recently that Bill Moseley and Kane Hodder would be featured in the upcoming Almost Mercy. We've received a bunch of new casting info (including the signing of a Dr. Gash favorite!) and a mega distribution deal.
The two leads in Almost Mercy will be played by Danielle Guldin and Jessie Default. Also named to the cast will be horror legend Debbie Rochon (pictured; woo hoo!), veteran actor Fred Sullivan, Jr., Eric Nyenhuis, Tanja Lynch, Sean Leser and pro wrestler Michael Bennett.
Wrestling icon Tommy Dreamer is also scheduled to make a cameo appearance in the Woodhaven Production Company project.
"The cast is really coming together," said Almost Mercy writer/director Tom DeNucci. "We have talented fresh faces to go along with some decorated veterans of the genre. I'm thrilled to have these actors tell the story. It's a really eclectic bunch."

Woodhaven Production Company and Chad A. Verdi Productions have worked with some of the biggest names in horror, and now they are bringing in two more genre legends to star in their upcoming film Almost Mercy, written and directed by Tom DeNucci.
Both Bill Moseley and Kane Hodder will be featured prominently in the film.
Previously Woodhaven has featured such stars as Robert Englund in Inkubus, William Forsythe and Michael Madsen in Infected, Michael Berryman and Eric Roberts in Self Storage, and Tony Todd and Godsmack's Sully Erna in Army of the Damned just to name a few. Now Tom DeNucci has a whole new tale to tell, and Moseley and Hodder will be headlining the cast.
Fans of Tom DeNucci's previous movies certainly know that the filmmaker normally has a vein of comedy running through his horror films. However, with Almost Mercy, although there is certainly black comedy to it,...

Recently Woodhaven Pictures invited Dread Central to visit the set of their newest project, Army of the Damned, and the cast was so unique that we had to take them up on the offer. This is the conclusion of our set visit report.
Our first article on the Army of the Damned set visit contained interviews with Tony Todd, Nick Principe, Tommy Dreamer, Thea Trinidad, Maria Kanellis and Jackie Moore. Read on to see who shows up in Part Two.
He's a newcomer to the acting business, but certainly not to entertaining audiences. Sully Erna, lead singer of rock band Godsmack, made his feature film debut in Army of the Damned. "This is my first lead in a movie and it's cool," Erna said. "It's an action/horror and there's some good sarcastic New England humor in it. They put me together with three other cops that play beside me.

With Michael Berryman, Sully Erna and Nick Principe already in the cast of their upcoming film, you'd think producer Chad Verdi and Woodhaven Productions would rest on their laurels. But that's far from the case as the team has enlisted Tony Todd for their Army of the Damned.
"Tony Todd is a great actor and a horror legend," Verdi said. "He was the last piece of the puzzle that I felt this film needed to be the blockbuster I know it will be."
Todd will join Berryman, Erna and Principe along with entertainer Joey Fatone and former professional wrestlers Tommy Dreamer and Thea Trinidad as well as David Chokachi, Jackie Moore and Tom Paolino in the Army of the Damned cast. The film will be directed by Tom DeNucci and photographed by cinematographer Sam Eilertsen. You can keep updated on the project by 'liking' Army of the Damned on Facebook.

Don’t look now but the Woodhaven Production Company is at it again. Producer Chad A. Verdi has announced his newest film, Army of the Damned, will begin filming in April.

While it may sound like just another new entry in the already overcrowded zombie subgenre, with two of today’s cinema’s greatest tough guys together in a fright flick about redneck hunters fighting flesh-eating rage zombies, I’m willing to give Infected a chance.
Synopsis:
An annual relaxing outing in the countryside becomes anything but after a blood virus infects a group of hunters, turning them into bloodthirsty maniacs. Now the pack of survivors must thwart off the creatures in order to see daylight again. Infected is a true, but wickedly twisted, tale of survival in the wilderness.
“Boardwalk Empire” badass William Forsythe and Reservoir Dogs ear aficionado Michael Madsen, along with the fetching Christy Carlson Romano (Mirrors 2, “Kim Possible”), star in this walking dead in the woods chiller from Inkubus director/co-writer Glenn Ciano.
Infected begins contaminating DVD and VOD on April 9th, courtesy of Screen Gems.

We've got some new updates coming out of Rock and Shock. One story involves a new celebrity guest, and the other concerns a promotion for servicemen and women, including police officers, firefighters and EMTs, attending the festival.
Academy Award nominee Eric Roberts has been added to the constantly growing list of Rock and Shock celebrity guests. Roberts will join Michael Berryman, Jonathan Silverman, Chad Verdi and the rest of the Woodhaven Production team for their panel just before the world premiere of Infected on Saturday night. Verdi recently announced that Roberts and Silverman not only star in his next picture, Self Storage, but have both already signed on for a sequel to be shot next year. And, incidentally, fans of Dread Central might be interested to hear that Dread's own Doctor Gash (that's me!) will be moderating that main event panel.

When you think of horror production, you don't normally think Rhode Island, but that may change if Chad A. Verdi and his Woodhaven Production Company have anything to say about it. Verdi is proud to announce they have greenlit their third horror film, Self-Storage.

Director: Glenn Ciano.
Writers: Glenn Ciano (story), Carl V. Dupré (screenplay).
Cast: Robert Englund, William Forsythe and Joey Fatone.
Legendary icon Robert Englund simply loves being bad in the movie Inkubus. The movie's title is also the name of a fictional demon that Englund plays. But for the actor, he shows just how debonair any malignant force can be. For this self-prescribed harbinger of chaos, he is after retired Detective Gil Diamante (William Forsaythe). Apparently these two squared off many years ago, but something happened which let this evil force get away.
After some time has passed, Inkubus has decided that the time has come to finish what that cop has started. When he shows up at a precinct holding the head of a dead girl, he admits to being the true killer. The individual the officers have in custody is not the one. In fact, he’s going to be the next victim.

Producer Chad A. Verdi, who is currently riding a wave a horror success with his Robert Englund vehicle Inkubus, is refusing to sit on his newly achieved laurels. Although his next film, the zombie thriller Infected, isn't due for release until Halloween, a prequel has already been announced.
Infected stars Michael Madsen, William Forsythe and Christy Romano in a struggle for survival as humans turn into zombie-like beasts from a blood infection. However, in even bigger news, Verdi has announced that a prequel to Infected is already in the works which Verdi himself will direct. According to the producer, the wheels are turning and buyers are lined up for this one. Madsen will return for the prequel.
Couple this news with the fact that Inkubus currently sits at #7 in Redbox rentals, available in 100 million homes On Demand and with over 60,000 DVDs sold, and it looks like Verdi and his crew...

Robert Englund is, without doubt, a man who loves what he does.
A few years back a colleague asked me if I'd like to tag along for an early lunch break. I declined, opting for a later lunch in the hope of splitting my day a little more evenly. He returned an hour later with the biggest grin – way too big for someone who just got back on the clock. After asking him how his lunch hour was, his reply was this:
"I just met Robert Englund."

While some other ex-boy band members might not have much career action these days, Joey Fatone couldn’t be busier. Maybe that’s because the one-time *Nsync singer’s professional life is diversification personified. He’s a man on the move, crisscrossing the country as he juggles multiple demands. “I’m hustling,” declares the pop star cum actor-dancer-host — who has now added Celebrity Foodie to his list of personas.
Viewers of the “Rachael vs. Guy Celebrity Cook-Off” saw Joey make a respectable showing as an amateur chef this week. He made it to the final four and picked up a $5,000 prize for his charitable foundation by acing an on-the-spot challenge — before Lou Diamond Phillips became the winner and Coolio came in second. Now, Joey’s about to head out on the road to shoot more episodes of his new Live Well network cooking show, “My Family Recipe Rocks.

Joey Fatone? In a horror movie? Okay. In addition to the aforementioned actors, you’ll also get performances by William Forsythe and Jonathan Silverman. What a very odd cast. Check out the official synopsis: In this hair-raising horror, the demon Inkubus (Robert Englund), visits a crew working its last shift at a soon-to-be demolished police station. As both sides engage in a prolonged battle, the crew realizes the demon has returned to settle a score with the detective that almost put him away thirteen years prior. This spine-tingling fright fest displays the true powers of good and evil when put to the test. Screen Media Films will unleash their “Inkubus” on February 21st,...

Murder, gore and mayhem ensue as two giants of the horror genre, Robert Englund and William Forsythe team up for the first time in supernatural horror thriller Inkubus, which will be released by Trinity X on DVD in the UK on Monday February 6th 2012.
Directed by Glenn Ciano, making his feature film debut, the movie tells the story of the demon Inkubus (Englund) who is hell-bent on destroying the one man who almost captured him thirteen years ago, Detective Gil Diamante (Forsythe). Shot in just 15 days, director Ciano has gone on record as saying he wanted the film to be a throw-back to the “nuts and guts” 80s genre film – and judging by the gory screenshots below he looks to have captured it perfectly!

Halloween is just around the corner and screenwriter Carl Dupre has plans to make it as scary as he can. His latest movie, the Robert Englund-starring Inkubus, hits theaters across the Unites States this month and its writer promises to gross you out, but in a good way.
As well as writing a handful of horror sequels (including Prophecy 3: The Ascent, Hellraiser: Hellseeker, Hellraiser: Hellworld) and being a prolific short story writer, Dupre is also a dab hand at comedy. I have been a fan of Dupre’s writing since he wrote one of my favorite movies, the hilarious Kiss-centric Detroit Rock City. In a recent interview with Dupre, the screenwriter gave me some insight as to how he wrote Detroit Rock City, what is was like on set, and getting to meet Kiss.
But first things first: horror.
Geeks of Doom: So, Inkubus – how did that come about?...

As it's been doing for years now, the Rock and Shock festival in Worcester, Massachusetts, delighted fans again this past weekend (October 14-16) with three days filled with screenings, celebs, and music. If you are a horror fan on the East Coast, this is your Graceland.
For those unfamiliar with the event, let me lay it out for you. You stroll into the beautiful Dcu Center in Worcester and enter a Mecca of horror. I was personally lucky enough to walk in just as horror author Joe Knetter was hitting his stride during a book reading. Knetter may indeed be the funniest guy at the entire event. Really entertaining!
As you stroll the vendor area, you find absolutely anything related to horror you could possibly want ... custom fitted fangs, theatrical contact lenses, artists, filmmakers, T-shirt booths, website representatives like the guys from Killerreviews.com ... you name it. It's there.

Dread Central is currently at Rock and Shock in Worcester, Massachusetts, and has gotten a real scoop! Film producer Chad A. Verdi, who brought us the weekend's main event, the Robert Englund-fueled vehicle Inkubus, a film about an demon that is part Assault on Precinct 13 and part Ghoulies, dropped a huge bomb on us: He wants his next film to be based on a true crime story. That of Amanda Knox.
"I've offered $1 million to Amanda Knox for the rights to her story," Verdi said. "If she's innocent, let's prove it to the world." Amanda Knox is, of course, the American student who was incarcerated for the last four years in Italy, accused of a brutal murder.
Verdi made a splash at Rock and Shock as the producer of Inkubus, which wowed the audience. First-time director Glenn Ciano does an outstanding job helming the project, which includes such big-name actors as Englund,...

If Rock and Shock 2011 doesn't get here soon Glenn Ciano is going to burst. Why is that, you ask? Because Glenn makes his feature film directorial debut with Inkubus, and the film will be having its world premiere this Saturday night at Rock and Shock 2011 in Worchester, Ma and he can't wait to unleash Inkubus on the unsuspecting world.
Headlining a film schedule that includes Chillerama at 5pm and I Am Nancy (introduced by Nancy herself, Heather Langenkamp) at 7pm Inkubus is slotted at the prime 9pm position and will be introduced by director Glenn Ciano and producer Chad A. Verdi.

"You've got the body…I've got the brains." That was the scene that did it for me. We've all got our favorite Freddy Krueger moment ... Nancy in the bathtub, Johnny Depp getting sucked into the bed, the cockroach transformation scene or even "Welcome to prime time, bitch!". But the one that stuck with me was Krueger peeling back the top of his head, revealing a pulsing brain, while reciting that line to a screaming Jesse in A Nightmare on Elm Street Part 2: Freddy's Revenge.
Thinking back, I can remember sitting in the Gash household with my younger brother (we'll call him Patient Zero), working a remote control that had three buttons and was wired to the Vcr, replaying that scene until the tracking button could no longer control the interference. It was classic.
But whatever your favorite Freddy moment, we have one man to thank for them all. Robert Englund...

Glenn Ciano will not be stopped. With an incredibly infectious energy level and a "by any means necessary" filmmaking attitude, this director is brimming with excitement about the theatrical release of his first feature film. And the lucky bastards at this year's Rock and Shock horror movie and music convention, will be the first to bear witness to Ciano's creation, Inkubus starring Robert Englund.
"I wanted it to be something a little different," Ciano says of Inkubus. "Kind of a throwback to the '80s's genre flick. A little bit of nuts and guts with two powerhouse performers in Robert Englund and William Forsythe."
And with names like that attached to his first feature film, Ciano had to be sure to excel in the director's chair every time out. "I had to approach it head on and give fans, guys like me, something to cheer about again," Ciano said. "Robert is unbelievable.

The minutes are ticking away until the 8th Annual Rock and Shock in Worcester, Massachusetts, and updates are starting to come fast and furiously (like an angry greyhound in heat). The festival is scheduled for October 14-16, and we've gotten word of two more guests being added to the already impressive list as well as a world premiere film. Read on, New Englanders. Like having the Red Sox and Patriots dominating their respective sports isn't enough. Now you get the most kickass horror convention in the Northeast as well. Well played, Worcester. Well played.

Oddballs and weirdos populate this week's Horror Bites. Some are living large (1,200 pounds to be exact), and others are blind as a bat, but Bruce Campbell (and his chin) remains horror's eternal hero and keeps things light with a new game to play.
50 Cent takes on Satan in a new based-on-the-book movie. The rapper/actor plays a blind DJ and will be starring alongside upcoming "Fright Night" actor Anton Yelchin for this tale originally penned by Dean Koontz.
An actor from "Robot Chicken" is gaining several hundred pounds for a role in David Arquette's "Glutton," which sounds like shades of David Fincher's creepy "Se7en." A family moves into a haunted house thanks to a "hauntrepreneur's" recommendation. Meanwhile, Freddy Krueger will be howling alongside strippers in a new movie that wins the award for most obvious film title ever.
