When her father unexpectedly dies, young Ella finds herself at the mercy of her cruel stepmother and her scheming stepsisters. Never one to give up hope, Ella's fortunes begin to change after meeting a dashing stranger.
Though this version of Cinderella is not based on the Brothers Grimm's telling, the stepsisters have a brief argument where Drizella threatens to scratch Anastasia's eyes out, which echoes the Brothers Grimm's version where the stepsisters have their eyes pecked out by birds.
I have to leave. It's hard to explain. Lizards and pumpkins and... things.
The shot of Cinderella getting out of her carriage after arriving at the ball shows the carriage wheels to be metal. If the setting is set during the early part of the Victorian Era, then the wheels should have been wooden, since the metal wheel was not invented until 1870.
The MPAA rating screen at the end reads "PG-13," but the movie is actually rated "PG."
