PG-13 | | Comedy, Romance
A high school senior instigates a social pecking order revolution after finding out that she has been labeled the DUFF - Designated Ugly Fat Friend - by her prettier, more popular counterparts.
Bella Thorne's character, Madison, is written specifically for the movie. She did not exist anywhere in the book.
Wesley 'Wes' Rush:
You can't take it so literally. A DUFF doesn't actually have to be fat or ugly. You know, it's like Tony Romo is a Dallas Cowboy. It's not like he rides a horse.
Bianca Piper: I have no idea what the hell you're talking about.
When Madison is giving out her party invitations, Caitlyn is supposedly recording the interaction for Madison's YouTube channel, however for the majority of the scene she is holding her phone incorrectly and her hand is covering the camera.
At the start of the closing credits there is a gag reel in between introducing each actor/actress.
