Good things in life come in small packages
The promos were indeed eye-catching but the way it raked "moolah" at the box-office indeed took the entire industry by surprise. The constituents of "Tanu Weds Manu" is its honesty and down to earth treatment. The screenplay makes the proceedings believable and add to that a script which is very much a spoken language making the audience to instantly connect.

√ Maddy:: A much awaited deserving solo hit which hopefully should translate into bagging some interesting projects. BTW - Manu Sharma being a engineer-cum-doctor in London served no purpose to the actual plot. And yes, a natural performance indeed.

√ Kangana:: The rebellious character "Tanu "with a mind of her own has been borrowed from many (recently Ms. Padukone in "Break Ke Baad"). Now that the movie is a hit, Kangana surely has added the feather to her cap. No doubt she has given her honest best but it showed that she was over- doing it. Perhaps it would have been natural had Anushka or Deepika were brought on board.

√ Deepak Dobrial:: A waste of talent. Ended up being a side-kick while I was hoping his character would leave a lasting impact.

√ Ravi Kishen:: Good diversion at the beginning but ended up with a special appearance.

√ Jimmy Shergill:: Good "tough guy" performance (and would have certainly helped to pour in the audience from Punjab).

√ K K Raina, Rajendra Gupta & Navni Parihar:: Lend adequate support.

Songs went on to become popular after the movie churned good numbers. "Tanu Weds Manu" certainly deserves one time watch.
