‘The Voice’ Top 13 results: Marybeth Byrd gets Apple Music bonus but who will sing for Instant Save?
On Monday’s episode of “The Voice,” the Top 13 artists coached by Kelly Clarkson, John Legend, Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani performed. The goal for each contestant was to have the most streamed song on Apple Music by Tuesday at 10 am E.T./ 7 a.m. Pt so that they reaped the benefit of a five-times vote multiplier.
In a troubling sign of the popularity of these season 17 contestants, none of them cracked the Top 10 on iTunes; this was the benchmark for the multiplier until this season. The closest were two of the artists on Team John Legend: Marybeth Byrd ranked the highest, coming in at #18 for her rendition of the Vince Gill hit “Go Rest High On That Mountain.” Katie Kadan was right behind with her cover of “I’m Going Down” by Rose Royce.

Whatever you do, please do not refer to Sean Bardin and Robert Cooley’s upcoming “found footage” flick “Unaware” as a documentary. Because it’s not. That’s what their promotional team would have you believe, though, to be perfectly fair, I doubt anyone is going to fall for that well-worn promotional gimmick. Then again, there are some gullible folks out there, so I might be wrong about that. Regardless of the film’s authenticity, the trailer you’ll find lurking below is actually kind of interesting, as it takes the familiar formula and drops an evil alien life form right in the middle of it. Whether or not you believe all of this nonsense is real, of course, depends on willingness to trust the pitchman. Here’s what this one is all about: In July 2010, a vacationing couple discovered something disturbing on a ranch in rural Texas. Armed with a home camcorder,...

Talk about swamping a frigging sub-genre. Only yesterday I was bitching about covering too many 'found footage' movies lately when we provided new info on Sean Bardin and Robert Cooleys' 'Unaware'. And here we are less than 24 hours later with news of new independent horror 'Evidence'. The RynoRyder production helmed by Howie Askins and scripted by Ryan McCoy is currently in post and will star McCoy alongside Brett Rosenberg, Abigail Richie and Ashley Bracken as (get this!) Ryan, Brett, Abi and Ashley respectively. Wooooo. Check out the one-sheet below and add this to the ever growing list of movies just like it....

Ok, this looks like the newest trend and everyone is cashing in on the found footage hype. The latest film is Unaware which plot tells us that on July 2010, a vacationing couple discovered something disturbing on a ranch in rural Texas. Armed with a home camcorder, they captured their experience on video. They are also going the route with Eventful just like Paranormal Activity and Hatchet II did. To me this sums it up, "What if Paranormal Activity and Blair Witch has a threesome with an alien, you'd get Unaware! Shaky camera syndrome!

And it's a race to get all of the found footage alien flicks into the starting gates for 2011, which for some ungodly reason is home to the most invasion flicks since the Fifties and Sixties. Next up is the cinéma-vérité style flick Unaware.
