  • TUFF Puppy was the third cartoon created by Butch Hartman. Normally, you'd expect a person whose been working in the same professional for so long to only get better at their craft, but unless the craft is "making cartoons as cheap as possible" then Hartman hasn't exactly been excelling at anything.

The show has all the board pieces needed to create a sensational cartoon. Interesting characters, a few talented voices, a colorful and cleverly imagined world. So where did it go wrong? For starters, the dialog at parts can be cringey. Hartman has had a quirk involving running gags which he cannot shed, a character will shout something random and typically unrelated to anything anyone else is talking about, and proceed to do this two more times throughout the show. This happens a lot in new Fairly OddParents episodes as well. There are just too many forced attempts at being funny when there is no need to be. That doesn't mean this cartoon isn't ever funny, because it is, but you tend to remember the misses more than hits and this cartoon misses a lot. Hartman's humor is perpetually stuck in 1970's Hanna-Barbera mode.

Also hurting this cartoon was the lack of direction, which while Hartman may think he can get away with in Fairly Odd Parents, for an action cartoon like this or Danny Phantom it helps to actually have some sort of end goal to be striving to reach. Instead, the heroes capture the villains, who are then released (typically off-screen) by the next episode. Catch and release, just like a recreational fishing pond. It gets boring very quick especially for kids. What if Avatar: The Last Airbender just had Aang and friends sending a comically inept Zuko blasting off again Team Rocket style every episode instead of actually having a journey? TUFF Puppy had three main villains who quickly became too inept for even the writers to take them seriously, and the occasional one episode wonder villain who was sometimes clever, sometimes not.

Still aside from the shortcomings, the show being rated as low as it is of the time me writing this (about 4.8) is an absolute ruse. It's not worse than the likes of Uncle Grandpa or Sanjay and Craig, this show actually has a sense of style and sensible act direction, and the handful of animation awards its won are mostly deserved. That's the wonky 10 point review system for ya, if you like a cartoon is a 10 if not its a 1 and there is no reason to rationalize a middle ground. Some of the bad reviews I read seem focused on apply logic to cartoons ala "Why hasn't Dudley been fired for his antics?" or something silly, thats what happens when you spend too much time on TVtropes.
  • I don't see why people keep saying its stupid and terrible. It's a pretty decent show to me. But it's not the best. I've seen better and I've seen worse. This show is in the middle for me. At least it's better than the other new crap Nickelodeon calls shows like Sanjay and Craig and the Breadwinners...etc. The only thing that's annoying to me in this show is Snaptraps voice. It's just plain annoying. Other than that, it's a pretty good show.

I like how Dudley is voiced by Jerry Trainor, mostly because he's from iCarly. iCarly was one of my favorite shows until they recently stopped making new episodes. Anyway, ya, I give T.U.F.F. Puppy a 6/10
  • I honestly haven't seen this show in a long time, but I kinda took a liking to it in the past.

It was good yet it got cancelled? Nick should've kept it on Nick Toons.

I think the Chameleon may have been the funniest villain in the series besides Snaptrap.

This is one of the most annoying cartoons that I've seen in my entire life.

In every single scene from this series, the characters are either screaming or making some unfunny statement. None of the characters were remotely likable or interesting. For me, the "good guys" from this series were even more irritating than the villains, being very hard for me to care about them. The animation from this series it's pretty bad, with very ugly and unappealing designs, but that's a minor flaw considering how annoying are the characters and how unfunny were every single one of the gags from this series.

T.U.F.F. Puppy is a terrible TV show, without any redeeming value.

    0/10
  • Butch Hartman's most recent Nicktoon "T.U.F.F. Puppy" truly is awful. The show follows a moronic dog named Duddley (voiced by Jerry Trainer from the equally annoying Nickelodeon show "iCarly") who joins "T.U.F.F.". A group of secret agents who fight bad guys and save the town of Petropolis, which is entirely inhabited by animals. Now where do I begin on how horrible this show is?

First of all, the characters are obnoxious and unlikeable in every way imaginable. Like Duddley's irritating personality, and constant shouting random phrases. Or Snaptrap's annoying voice and lame jokes. The only tolerable character is Kitty Katswell (voiced by Grey DeLisle - Vicky from "The Fairly OddParents"; Frankie from "Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends"), and even she isn't all that interesting.

The animation is flat, pointy, and irritating, but this is Butch Hartman, so what's new? Also, this show is unbearably poorly written. The jokes are cheesy, childish, and obnoxious. And there really isn't much thought or intelligence put into this show. I honestly can't see this show appealing to anyone who's seen some actually good cartoons, or to anyone over the age of 8.

The animation is bland, the stories are dull, the humor is childish, the characters are obnoxious, and the voice acting is just average. Not recommended.

    Rating: 2/10 "Terrible"
  • Seriously, I used to think Fairly Odd Parents was annoying, but that at least grew on me. This show is just, annoying. I'm serious, the characters are annoying, the voice work is annoying, the humor (in the loosest sense of the word) is annoying. And dumb. The animation is okay, and some of the ideas are clever, but that's nowhere near saving the show. I couldn't imagine it growing on me the way FOP did. No one on this show is likable in the least. Even the villains are annoying as anything.

My advice to viewers, don't watch this or anything else on Nickelodeon; it'll make your IQ drop ten points. And my advice to Nickelodeon, start treating your viewers like they have brains.

T.U.F.F. Puppy is a great show on Nickelodeon. The show is about a dog named Dudley Puppy Voiced by Jerry Traninor who (plays Spencer on i Carly) who work with his friend Kitty Katswell(Grey De lisle) who stop the villains of Petropolis. The other Characters are The Chief(Daran Norris) and Keswick(Jeff Benntt). I really enjoy this show. sadly a lot of people hate this show for no reason. Anyway T.U.F.F. Puppy is a Great show is better Than Fanboy and Chum Chum and others crappy cartoons Like the The Problem Sovlez. Bottom line i really like this show and I'm giving this show a 10 out 10 stars I like over any of crappy sitcom on Nickelodeon. See Ya Later.

This is a show about a dog who works as a secret agent. His name is Dudley, and he seems to be more of a risk to the company he's working for than most of the villains. By this I mean, he's literally blown-up headquarters multiple times, all the while screaming random phrases at the top of his lungs.

If this seems annoying, just remember he is the main character and has more air-time than anybody else on this show. None of them are interesting either, but the only one who seems to come close to Dudley's obnoxiousness is public enemy number one: SnapTrap. He's a rat with a lisp who's crimes range anywhere from petty larceny to crimes against humanity.

This is what a typical episode looks like:

Dudley- "I FOUND A SHOE!" (bounces up and down, then whips the shoe around in his mouth. Shoe hits a computer. It breaks.)

Chief- "Dudley! We just spent half the company's yearly budget on that computer!"

Dudley- "BUT I HAVE DOUGHNUTS! I LOOOVE DOUGHNUTS!!!!" (eats doughnuts and smashes a lamp)

(another computer screen turns on. It's Snap-trap on the other line.) SnapTrap- "GREETINGS! IT IS I, SNAPTRAP!" (bounces around, with his tongue coming out of his mouth) "I JUST BAKED CUPCAKES THAT WILL CAUSE THE POLAR CAPS TO MELT!!!!"

Dudley- "CUPCAAAAAKES!!!!" (takes the company's car without asking, and drives away, smashing out of the garage without lifting the door up)

(Moments later, Dudley can be seen on the computer screen with SnapTrap, eating the cupcakes) SnapTrap- "Well, that was easy."

    Chief- "THE POLAR CAPS!!!"

    Dudley- "CUPCAAAAAKES!!!!"

(Gorilla pops up out of nowhere and starts dancing with the chief)

    etc.

If I were the chief, I would fire Dudley. In fact, I would stop the secret agent business altogether, because living a life like that day in and day out is something I would consider a living hell. Each episode is an 11 minute viewing of that hell, so feel free to watch it if you're a glutton for punishment or something like that.
  • TUFF Puppy has overtones of "Rocky and Bulwinkle" and "Dangermouse". They don't just break the Fourth Wall; they hit us over the head with it. Their basic message is, we're in this for fun, and if you're not up with that, shop elsewhere. Dudley is as dumb as Stimpy (Ren and Stimpy) or Billy (Billy and Mandy). Yet he always somehow knows how to crack the case and snare the villains. Kitty Katswell is already a hit on the internet, and a glorious match for the obstinately stupid Dudley. Ketswell (T.U.F.F.'s "Q") is... deliciously weird. I suppose my favorite "villain" is the Chameleon (voiced by Daran Norris, who also does the Chief), but it's up for grabs. It's all about the silliness, and fun, and goofing around. My favorite shot about what this show's all about: in the pilot, when told by the Chief that she has to train Dudldy, Kitty says "Are you nuts?" And the Chief says "No, Agent Nuts is over there." Cut to a squirrel who stuffs two handfuls of nuts in his cheeks and then bugs out. There you go.
  • Butch Hartman, The creator of The Fairly Odd Parents & Danny Phantom created this show? You've got to be kidding me. The Fairly Odd Parents were pretty good & Danny Phantom was decent but this show T.U.F.F. Puppy is not good. I don't like it one bit. I've seen a few episodes of this show and I do not like it. Some of the minor characters are weird and do not so good things and it's just bad. It is better than Fanboy & Chum Chum though. I'd choose this show over Fanboy & Chum Chum any day. But seriously, this show is even worse than that Disney show Fish Hooks. The main characters are just not good characters and the villains aren't that good either. Sorry, this show just doesn't interest me.
  • To do their duty of the woke generation to make them more and more dumber. This show lacks of everything. Decent storytelling, beautiful art, fiunny gags? Sorry, not in this show.
  • There's not much to this show beyond it's humor. Don't expect a coherently built world, deep rich, characters, or endearing morals. But what it does well, it does VERY well. It is just insanely funny. I am repeatedly floored by how talented the writers are in this regard. As a 27 year old, it's sort of a guilty pleasure I'm afraid to talk about, but I must say I'm 12 episodes in and I love this show.

Silly, wonderful, happy show about a dog named Dudley Puppy that tries his best to protect his hometown and it's denizens that include but are not limited to: The Little Chipmunk Girl, Peg Puppy, Phil, Roger, and Mrs.Katswell by joining an agency named T.U.F.F. from bad people such as The Chamaleon, Birdbrain, and T.U.F.F.'s archenemy agency D.O.O.M. Even though he isn't very book smart, he has proved himself incredibly street-smart always putting criminals in jail while using impeccable teamwork with his partner Kitty Katswel, his colleague Keswick, and his employer Herbert Dumbrowski nicknamed The Chief. He has wonderfully amazing adventures with his new job i.e.: Protecting his partner from a recurring shape shifting villain, going on a cruse ship referencing the Titanic, developing a crush on a girl dog who's really a villain in disguise,
  • T. U. F. F. Puppy is a fun and entertaining animated television series that originally aired on Nickelodeon from 2010 to 2015. The show was created by Butch Hartman, the same creator of the popular Nickelodeon series, The Fairly OddParents.

The series follows the adventures of Dudley Puppy, a dim-witted but enthusiastic and determined dog who is recruited by an organization called T. U. F. F. (Turbo Undercover Fighting Force) to become a secret agent and help protect the citizens of Petropolis from various evil villains.

One of the things that sets T. U. F. F. Puppy apart from other animated series is its unique blend of action, comedy, and adventure. The show features fast-paced action sequences, clever humor, and a colorful cast of characters that are both memorable and entertaining.

The animation style is also top-notch, with bright and vibrant colors, smooth animation, and eye-catching designs. The voice acting is also excellent, with talented actors bringing the characters to life and adding to the show's humor and charm.

It was good it's about spys and agents. that theme of the show is good! it Was one of the best shows from butch hartman.
  • This show is very funny. How clever is that to have a dog with a flea for his boss and cat for his partner? The characters are well developed, the action scenes are good, the comedy is hilarious and the voice acting is decent. I love everything Butch Hartman makes.. I hope to maybe meet him, get him to sign my stuff, and maybe work for him someday.

Jerry Trainer does a good job voicing the dog. I've known him since I saw him on iCarly.

In my opinion, this show is way better than the overrated cartoons on Nickeldoeon, Planet Sheen and Fanboy and Chum Chum.

I'm giving it a ten so it can have more stars on the overall score and because its a good show. there's no reason for the hate. the creator of Fairly OddParents(another good show for everyone) i say did a good job, IT IS A LOT BETTER THAN FANBOY AND CHUMCHUM and others i've seen. I always can't wait for the next episode to air. People this is something worth watching. I watch a LOT of shows from anime to everything in between but one of my favorites are shows like these. I was wondering how nick was going to show after all those others shows went off air. They didn't disappoint. Watch a few more episodes and give it a chance, i did and i love it. XD
  • Nickelodeon has introduced some not so good shows during the late 2000s and early 2010s, but Tuff Puppy is one good show from that time period! Unlike some other Nicktoons that were made at the time, it has no fart jokes, no poop jokes, no gross out humor, nothing. However, the theme song mentions that the protagonist, Dudley Puppy aka Tuff Puppy, used to drink out of the toilet and chew his butt, though thankfully he gave up those habits to become a secret agent. I liked this show when it started in 2010, and I later started to hate it for a while (though I didn't think it was as bad as some other modern Nicktoons like Fanboy and Chum Chum), but I now like it again, and it's still not one of my favorite shows.

I like the music. It's extremely fast paced (in a good way) and sounds like music from an action movie or TV series. The people involved had appropriate choices for music, after all this is an action-packed show about secret agent animals trying to stop evil doers. It helps strengthen the show's unique blend of comedy, action, and adventure. I especially love the theme song! It's fast paced, catchy, and has a vibrant beat! I don't know how else to describe the music.

The animation and art style are good too! They look similar to other Nicktoons, like The Fairly Oddparents and Danny Phantom. This was created by the same person who created those two shows, Butch Hartman, which explains a lot. The animation is very smooth and energetic, and the colors are bright and vibrant. I don't know how else to describe it.

My favorite character is Dudley Puppy. He's willing to stop all meanness and badness and arrest any criminal. How can one go wrong with a character like that? He is a doofus (in a good way), but not just for the sake of being stupid. His stupidity makes him very funny for the most part, much like one of my favorite SpongeBob SquarePants characters, Patrick Star. My favorite quote by Dudley is "Always tell the truth, never take stuff that doesn't belong to you, and don't chew your butt in public!" Those are good words to live by! I think it's self-explanatory as to why. He has good chemistry with his colleagues, most notably his partner, Kitty Katswell. Am I the only one who has noticed that he somewhat resembles Snoopy?

Tuff Puppy is an underrated show. If you're tired of the Nick shows with mean-spirited and gross out humor and are looking for a good modern Nicktoon, watch Tuff Puppy. It doesn't have any of that, other than the theme song saying Dudley used to drink out of the toilet and chew his butt.
  • In a world where nothing's good on TV. Where shows that range from negative and messed-up are starting to rule the airwaves. There is one show that has a tendency to be delightful to watch and listen. A show that cannot be seen with a straight face. A show that would brighten up your day, even if you had a bad day or something like that. A show that is funny as hell. It's name is T.U.F.F. PUPPY. The show was inspired by such 60's secret agent shows like MAN FROM U.N.C.L.E., THE AVENGERS (a British TV show from the 60's not the Marvel Comics one) and GET SMART (mostly that show). This show answers the question: What would happen if Spencer from i-CARLY is recruited by C.O.N.T.R.O.L. to replace Maxwell smart and all the characters are animals? T.U.F.F. PUPPY is the answer. Dudley Puppy answers the first part of the question (i.e. it is like Spencer got recruited there). Kitty Katswell (who got a crap load of online attention), answers this question: "What if Trixie Tang, Barbera Feldman or Emma Peale and a pet cat had a love child?" She is like the smart character. Keswick is Butch Hartman's answer to Carlson from GET SMART. This smart pooch is not only paying homage to Carlson, but to Jerry Lewis' title role in THE NUTTY PROFESSOR (1963). The Chief, is angry and gruff, Just like Howard Beale in NETWORK (1976) Also, he is grouchy and sarcastic, just like the chief in GET SMART. I like this character. He is funnier than the others, especially his voice, which is done by Daran Norris (who sounds a bit like Jorgen von Strangle). Here's a little task. Listen to Jorgen's voice, then listen to The Chief's voice. You'll notice something! The villains are hilarious! Snaptrap (a rat who happens to be horribly allergic to cheese) somehow, remind me of Dr. Insano from the internet series, THE SPOONY EXPERIMENT (Google it up you're online). Ollie the Otter is modeled after Eric Idle, Francisco the Alligator has a voice that sounds like Sylvester Stallone with a Chicago accent. The Chameleon, is an homage to Peter Lorre and he is my favorite villain. Also there is Birdbrain, who is a blue-footed booby who cannot fly and has a humming bird assistant named Zippy. The humor consists of brief gags that were recycled from FAIRLY ODDPARENTS as well as new gags which is very good. It is his signature humor, his shtick, which is why I love it. Bottom line: I highly recommend it. Because: it's not SPONGEBOB. I don't like SPONGEBOB because every episode is almost the same thing, it ranges from Krabs vs. Plankton or Annoying the living !@$#% out of the long-suffering Squidward, which gives maturity and growing up a bad name and inspires bullying and mischief. Negativity aside, I highly recommend this cartoon because you'll love it. Oh yes, enjoy this music video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XObMfY6Gepk
