When a body is found on the bridge between Denmark and Sweden, right on the border, Danish inspector Martin Rohde and Swedish Saga Norén have to share jurisdiction and work together to find the killer.
With a two year gap between the third & fourth seasons of Bron/Broen (2011), creator Hans Rosenfeldt said the fourth season was written so as to bring the previous story-lines to a satisfactory conclusion.
In the opening credits some of the traffic footage is mirrored causing the traffic to be driving on the left instead of the right side of the road and taking the roundabout in a clockwise fashion instead of counter-clockwise.
The opening and closing credits appear in both Swedish and Danish, including the series title and descriptive character names.
