BOSCO was one of those movies that surprise you. You go in thinking one thing, and leave with a whole new perspective on things. Who knew one jail cell could keep me engaged for so long. It's one of those films where, you know he gets out because it's based on a true story, but how it all comes together, that's what matters. The journey each character goes through during 90 mins is insane!! The kind of movie that moves you and those around you. This movie flew by. What a cast, the acting was superb. And i read somewhere this is the directors first film?! Well that guy has a bright future I'll tell you that much. Do yourself a favor and check this one out on Peacock (if you have it lol). It has a lot to say, in a condensed format that doesn't get boring. Enjoy the flick!!!!
A friend recommended this to me because he knows i'm a fan of prison movies but wasn't expecting this. Thought by the poster might be more like a low budget action movie. I was wrong. It definitely is a lower budget under 10 million dollar movie, but caught myself fully bought in to the struggle of the main character, Bosco and the supporting characters. There were no big prison brawls although one cool fight scene that again, wasn't what I expected. The performances are great. I wish I had some more time with some of them, but the time I did have flew by. Was great seeing Vivica Fox in a strong role again. I wish there was more time with Bosco when he got out but I guess the writers had to stick with the true events of what actually happened. I loved the style of the ending scenes with the narrator over the music and all the cutting back and forth. The style overall was pretty damn cool. For all the maybe too quick paced storytelling, I still felt satisfied and like I was immersed in a world that led to some interesting questions.
Was the most captivating film I've seen in years. Aubrey Joseph did an amazing job at portraying BOSCO. Movie was absolutely 10/10
Not often does a movie hold my attention for an hour or 90 minutes, this one did! It was both stunning and eye opening. How have we let our penal system get to this point? BOSCO is a low key genius too, how did he manage that on his own?
It leaves you wondering how many more BOSCOs there are out there who haven't escaped. It's sad, but I'm glad we're using cinema to open the eyes of the masses. One way to people's hearts and mind, has always been through beautiful cinema, and BOSCO fits the bill.

I'm a pretty big fan of the prison break genre. This one was compelling. Complex character development in such a short period of time. Thomas Jane is the maaan. I'd literally watch anything with him in it. I thought it felt a bit rushed at the end so I gave it 9 stars. Would still recommend anyone curious to check this out. Too bad it's only available on peacock or more friends could watch it too. Aubrey Joseph was new to me but that guy has some acting chops! Theo is a great cast too... vivica. Whoever cast this did a stellar job really. Tyrese! Lol haven't seen fast n furious in a while but good to see him too. I even wanna watch it again.
Well-made in a simple way, it has an engaging storyline, well-acted, sort of slow-paced not in a bad way, lots of suspension of disbelief, showing well enough in a tight frame a disproportionate system and "prejudices" that go with it.
The biographical story is saddening, but one cannot do anything about it cause there's a system in place and lonely souls get crushed in that world or are left with scars forever.
