Daisy Ridley has landed another lead role, this time in action thriller “Dedication” from Martin Campbell, reuniting with the director following their recent feature “Cleaner.”

The film, written by Dan Gordon, is launching at the American Film Market, with Highland repping international sales and CAA Media Finance overseeing domestic rights.

Armie Hammer is returning to the big screen after his Hollywood career came crashing down around him amid numerous sexual misconduct allegations.

Hammer is set to star in Frontier Crucible, a period western from director Travis Mills and producer Dallas Sonnier.

“I’ve built a career producing masculine indie movies, such as Bone Tomahawk, Brawl in Cell Block 99, Dragged Across Concrete, Muzzle and The Standoff at Sparrow Creek and worked with legendary actors including Kurt Russell, Vince Vaughn, Mel Gibson, Jason Sudeikis, Guy Pearce, Aaron Eckhart, Don Johnson, Stephen Lang, James Badge Dale, Steve Austin, and more. Madera is best known for his work as a series regular in USA Network’s Queen of the South across the drama’s 5 seasons. Madera worked closely alongside Alice Braga starring as her character Teresa Mendoza’s loyal right-hand man and ride-or-die, Pote Gálvez. The series is an adaptation of Telemundo’s hit telenovela La Reina del Sur starring Kate del Castillo as Teresa.

We've come a long way from seeing movies in theaters to streaming them in our homes on various platforms. “Blue Beetle,” from Warners’ DC Comics division, actually took #1 at Vudu — even more impressive since it ranks by revenue, putting the $19.99 “Beetle” at a disadvantage. It placed #3 at Google Play, which often is slower to note new releases. “Barbie” remains #1 at iTunes and Google Play.

Three other new titles debuted this week, led by “Gran Turismo” (Sony), as high as #2 at Vudu. Also at $19.99, “My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3” (Focus) also placed on two charts. It’s #4 at Vudu after its third weekend in theaters.

Exclusive: Primetime Emmy nominee Kate Mara has joined Laurence Fishburne in the sci-fi thriller, The Astronaut. Terminator: Dark Fate actor Gabriel Luna has also joined the cast.

Jess Varley (Phobias) makes her solo writing and directorial debut.

Cameras are set to roll this October in Ireland under an interim SAG-AFTRA agreement.

The Astronaut is produced by Fuller Media’s Brad Fuller and Cameron Fuller, alongside Wonder Company’s Eric B. Fleischman (J.D. Dillard’s Sleight) and Chris Abernathy (Barbarian).

Having worked with directors such as Steven Soderbergh, Clint Eastwood, Jason Reitman, and Christopher Nolan, it is surprising that Aaron Eckhart isn’t a household name. It could be argued, though, that he is a “household face” since most everyone recognizes him the second he’s on screen.

Rlje announced today it has acquired North American rights to “Muzzle,” an action thriller starring Aaron Eckhart, from Highland Film Group. Directed by John Stalberg Jr. (“Crypto”) and based on a script by Carlyle Eubank (“The Signal”) from a story by Eubank and Stalberg Jr., the film is set to debut in theaters and will be made available on all rental platforms on Sept. 29.

Rlje is a business unit of AMC Networks. It specializes in genre fare such as the Kurt Russell western “Bone Tomahawk” and the Nicolas Cage revenge thriller “Mandy.”
