One of porn's most prolific directors in recent decades, Jim Powers delivers a better-than- average massage genre porn with this Malibu video. His approach is simple but effective.
There's a no-nonsense quality about the 5 vignettes, which clock in at a value-packed 165- minute running time. Key gimmick here is that the masseurs (plus vet Nina Hartley as a token masseuse) are all business in their approach, even though sex is the result of all that medicinal rubbing. The viewer is complicit in believing that yes, everything is hunky dory when a legitimate massage also includes all the extras.
Evan Stone's two rub-down sessions, with lovely Kristina Rose and young-looking Emma Mae, are a bit different than the other vignettes in that he adopts an odd persona and also oils up the girls almost comically to the point where they look ready to enter a ring in some German soft-core oil wrestling nightclub act. But in common with the other 3 outings, the handler keeps a straight face and the recipient of fingering, intercourse and other sexual favors takes it all in her (or his) stride.
My favorite segment stars Kelly Divine, she of the impressive breasts and even more prominent rump plus overbite. As a chatty Cathy it was refreshing to see her give an interesting and seemingly extemporaneous characterization after previously having caught her only in purely gonzo appearances. Opposite Steve Crest her breasts are downplayed here but the segment is quite arousing. (Per IMDb, Crest has recently made the transition from porn to playing cops in dozens of mainstream B movies.)
I was ambivalent about Hartley's appearance; she looks fine but performing XXX in her 50s has the detraction of very fake looking breasts at this point and a definite over-the-hill look paired against a young Dane Cross -verging on GILF rather than MILF.
