Blues is about friendship, acceptance, and breaking stereotypes. Moshe (played by David W. Thompson) is a thirteen-year-old Orthodox Jewish boy living with his parents during the turbulent riots. Ralph (played by Mohammed Bloxz Trawally) is a thirteen-year-old experiencing the times through an African-American perspective. Both boys are entering young adulthood and are questioning their surroundings. They are beginning to think for themselves, which is the most exhilarating and the scariest part of being a teenager. Moshe and Ralph discover that they both have a passion for blues music. Their love of the blues and playing the harmonica together triumphs over the adversity that surrounds them, and they become friends. Their camaraderie could not overcome what was taking place around them, however, and Moshe is forced to move out of the neighborhood. Though no longer together, the boys are changed forever for having known each other.
Stars David W. Thompson, Rick Younger, and Mohammed Bloxz Trawally
